  1. I'm in! i7 3930K / 64GB DDR 1600 / GTX 1070 / Win 10. I'm so excited!
  2. I was totally perplexed as to why I was getting such horrible stutters with V4 until this past weekend when I reset my Inspector Prepar3d profile to the default settings, and under my Nvidia control panel changed my V-Synch from adaptive to just "on". After changing the V-Sync setting, I can now run the game stutter free on my GTX 1070. Previously, I had really bad microstutters like you had described. Also, with V3 I seemed to get the smoothest performance by using Inspector to limit my frame rate to 30 frames per second, but with V4 I seem to get better performance by leaving this setting off, and have the V-Sync turned on within Prepar3d, with tripple buffering enabled, and the ingame frame rate set to unlimited.
  3. I tried some experimenting using Project Lasso as well as disabling hyperthreading, and I found that the best performance was with the default Windows affinity mask settings and running Windows 10 game mode to give the sim priority. That being said, V4 is still a no go on my system as I just can't get acceptable performance no matter what the detail settings. The stutters are just horrible, and far worse than anything I ever experienced with 3.2 or 3.4 . Regardless of the detail settings, about every second the game has a millisecond freeze which ruins the immersion as smoothness of the sim. I even tried installing it on my system SSD drive to see if it was a disk performance issue. Still stuttered like crazy though. I am running an older 6 Core / 12 Thread 3930K at 4.8 Ghz with 32 GB or ram, and a GTX 1070 video card. Sadly, I will be uninstalling this version of the sim until I get a newer system capable of running it. Kind of disappointing as this is a vanilla install of the sim, and it runs much significantly worse than V3 with FTX Vector, FTX Global, and Active Sky.
  4. Unlike V3 in which I found I had the smoothest performance with the in game vsync enabled with tripple buffering on, and frames set to unlimited, with V4 I have to cap it at a set number (30 works best on my system) otherwise I get very bad stuttering. Strange thing is, I can set all graphics detail sliders to the absolute minimum, and the stuttering actually seems to be more pronounced. This is on a 6 core / 12 thread 3930K running at 4.8Ghz, with 32 gigs of ram, and a GTX 1070. I am not to sure why V4 doesn't seem to like my system, but for the time being performance is like night and day between V3 and V4, with the older version running much smoother.
  5. OK, thanks guys. Maybe I did indeed have a frame rate limiter enabled under Inspector in the past. Was just wondering if something was up with my system! Cheers!
  6. Are you running Windows 10, Capt Speirs? I am wondering if it is maybe an OS update that has broken this functionality?
  7. I used to have my Prepar3d sim running silky smooth, but now I am experiencing bad stuttering again and my adaptive half refresh rate vsync doesn't seem to work in sim. Normally, I could just enable the feature in my Nvidia control panel and I would have a really smooth 30FPS with the in game VSync enabled and unlimited frame rate setting. Now, it seems like the sim is ignoring my Nvidia settings, and is running anywhere from 40 to 55 FPS, and there are noticeable stutters. I checked my Prepar3d application profile with both Nvidia Inspector and the Nvidia Control panel program listing, and everything is at their default values. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to get this feature back working again, as it was so fluid before with the frame rate capped at my half refresh rate. I am running Prepar3d V3.4 with Hotfix 3.v Please note that I am running the game fullscreen, not in a window. I have read through the forums, and it seems that there are some people who say that this feature doesn't work in Prepar3d, and others who say it does. I am 99% I had this working before, where my frame rate was capped at 30FPS with the Adaptive Half refresh rate vsync enabled in my Nvidia control panel, and I did not need to use Nvidia Inspector to cap my framerate. Can anyone else confirm that when they have the half refresh rate vsync enabled, that the sim is capping their frames at 30 FPS without any other tweaks and Vsync enabled and unlimited frame rate set in sim? Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the replies. Yes, I have my global Vsync set to Adaptive Half Refresh rate. In every other game I have tested, this translates into 30FPS in game as I am running a 60 Hz monitor. Prepar3d also used to be locked at 30 FPS when this setting was enabled. Now, the program seems to be ignoring my Vsync settings. I have tried removing all my Nvidia drivers, cleaning out all my previous settings with Display Driver Uninstaller, and checking the clean install option and trying drivers back November of last year, but none of these seem to let my Vsync work again. I'm stumped.
  9. Please let me know if you find a fix. I am having the same issue with Prepar3d. http://www.avsim.com/topic/504728-adaptive-half-refresh-rate-v-sync-no-longer-working/?hl=%2Bhalf+%2Brefresh+%2Brate#entry3576776
  10. I have tried both the newest Nvidia 378 driver, and the older 376 drivers from last year. Adaptive Half Refresh Rate does not seem to be working with either of them as my FPS are around 50 on the tarmac.
  11. I am just wondering if anyone has any idea why my Adaptive Half Refresh Rate vsync is no longer working in Prepar3d. I am running Prepar3d V3.4 with Hotfix 3. Please note that I am running the game fullscreen, not in a window.
