  1. Thanks a lot for having a look and the information, so I know better what to expect when I upgrade. 36L/18R at ROAH opened in late March 2020. It's not included in MSFS2020 either, so far only X-Plane.
  2. Hello, I'm still on an older version of P3D and read mixed feedback about the updated airport data in P3Dv5, mainly lacking gates etc., at release data. How is the situation today? Does anyone know which date the airport data is based on in P3Dv5, e.g. does ROAH / Naha already feature RWY 36L/18R? Many thanks for a short feedback!
  3. Thanks! That looks very promising for the time beeing.
  4. Just tested again, no vectors given on approach: Approach ATC "Continue present heading. Expect vectors for ILS approach RWY15" Tower ATC: "Cleared ILS approach RWY15" Tower ATC: "Cleared to land RWY15" Overall, a tiny little bit better than FSX, but not (yet?) what I expected. And the Azure Voice isn't that impressive either, so many stations are just called "Center", omitting the actual name: "Conact Center on 112-75", but text reads "Frankfurt Center". Oh well, let's see...
  5. Just did a hop. Yes, systems are ok-ish (or I am operating them not correctly). What was suboptimal - with VNAV active ceilings are not respected and the AP climbs through them. To my understanding it should respect any set ALT and only climb higher if I reset ALT accordingly. - Autothrottle didn't engange. but otherwise worked - FLC didn't work the way I expected, again, could be my little knowledge on the G5000 - when using VS (with mouse), I suddenly got a both negative climb and descend rate!! I assume I hit a bug.. And agree, fuel burn is heavy and the engine seems to be a rocket.
  6. I have to admit my thing is IFR, always has been. I spent hundreds of hours in PMDG's 737 in FS9/X/P3D and Level-D's 767 back in FS9. Printed check-list on my desk, charts for the airports, starting my flight cold&dark, you get the idea 🙂 While I wait for add-on planes, what are your recommendations on stock planes for IFR with good FMS integration? I gave the 787 a try, while it's a big improvement for a stock plane, it doesn't compare to the level of detail I am used to. I guess the A320neo is similar: not bad, but lacks of detail (and manuals, for me as Boing-guy ;). What is your take on the Business Jets? I noticed the clock is stuck in the CJ4, so I spent a little time in the new Cessna Citation Longitude with the G5000 - might fill in nicely. How well is it simulated in your experience? Any good intros available for the G5000?
  7. I guess best is to wait for the VATSIM integration that is due and use their coverage. Yet I haven't given up hope completely they might improve stock ATC a little bit over the time.
  8. No, they are not. It's primarily clearance for altitudes if your departure is according to a SID. Different thing on approach, where vectors are the norm (for spacing or simply because the STAR ends at a point, see EGLL, and vectors are expected from there).
  9. Yes, I had this as well on day 1 and ended my flights as result. Day 2 I didn't encounter it at all. Let's see what happends todays :)
  10. I did a couple of short IFR flights and wasn't amazed at all by ATC: - voice doesn't work most of the times (it's ok, they will iron this one out, I assume - I can use text) - I had the impression transition altitude is still like FS9/FSX: fixed - need the verify (same for QHN) - most of the time I get "continue as planned" and I never got any vectors (I selected SID/STAR during planning, so I was expecting them mainly during approach) Overall, I don't really see where the big improvement should be, compared to FSX. Who had good experience?
  11. As for live weather: Most if the time, it doesn't work for me. - In Europa/Asia I get weather data when selecting the airport, most of the time clear sky, no clouds (which doesn't match METAR). Some winds/turbulence are there. - on a very few occasions I got live weather correctly (maybe 10% of all flights) - in the US, I do not even get any info at flight planning stage. I'm not sure if it is because their Azure-Services are simply overloaded (like the ATC voice) or something else.
  12. Agree, the first few flights were a rather positive experience for me as well. I run into a few bugs, but this seems to be the norm nowadays (call it "agile development" or "devops" or whatever) and will probably be fixed fast. The stock airliners aren't too bad (considering what we've got back with F9 or FSX) and I was surprised the FMS actually worked ;) Can't wait for PMDG's 737, though... :-)
