Hi All, We have an update launching tomorrow (9/23) afternoon! It's been a while, but we've been making some pretty deep changes to the helicopter to increase performance. We've also enhanced our physics calculations so that the cyclic remains responsive even at low frame-rates. If you were running at high fps before you won't notice any difference, but if you were down ~25 or lower you'll notice a big change in handling. Optimizes Bell 47 by combining textures, remapping UVs, and merging materials. Reduces both CPU and GPU utilization, should yield 10-25% performance improvement on most PCs Resolves missing material on tail section, fixes right-hand door rivet placement Adds Old Orange livery Adds Gulf Line livery The performance improvements are nice, especially in VR. The update will be available from https://flyinside-helis.com/ -

We have an "affordance" that you cannot blow the engine on a low collective setting. Mostly so our governor doesn't blow the engine during fast spool-up 😉 You should have tail-swing when making a collective input, in fact you can swing the tail left and right with throttle without adjusting collective too. -

We don't send email blasts, but you should see a notification when you run/restart Heli Manager. -

Hi All, New patch is out - https://flyinside-helis.com/updates Among other things, we're using proper MSFS radio variables now, and your lights/radios shouldn't go dead 30 mins into the flight. -

The CG screen is a red-herring. We have some issues with what we're reporting to MSFS, but it doesn't affect the flight model. We'll have that fixed next patch though as it's super annoying. In terms of the electrical/avionics stuff, we're looking into that. -

Hmmm - that shouldn't've changed with the patch. I just tried one, didn't see a difference between the two builds. -

Just so everyone knows we've got an update rolling out today, with some nice fixes. It'll be available on our website, and Heli Manager can take you to the download too once it's live. Rick will be showing it off on his Twitch stream at 12pm ET - https://www.twitch.tv/rotorrick -

We're running our own flight model, injected into the simulator. So probably how we do it is completely different from how they'd need to fix it. -

For those of you hitting CTDs, is there any chance you have a manually sized or small page file? The 47has a rather large systems+flight model WASM gauge, which may be eating RAM in MSFS. I'm wondering if these are out-of-memory crashes or something different. -

The activation system is there to make sure no one is sharing one installer/code with the public at large. A couple of activations across a couple of computers or accounts isn't going to flag anything 👍 -

No issues with installation location - you enter your product key into Heli Manager, and it will activate for you. It doesn't care where things are installed -

I'm very biased as a dev, but the one thing you won't accuse this heli of is having an easy FM. It's not on rails, and it isn't easy. -

We figured out the External Camera issue finally! We'll have a patch out Monday with that plus a couple of other fixes. For anyone curious, the reasoning is pretty crazy: As a helicopter using an external FM, we did not have a large wing span in our MSFS flight model specified 😉
