  1. I understand that, so FS9 will read .cab files as gauges? Should be simple then; I'll try it out. I just assumed the .cab file needed to be converted to an fs .gau file (I think they are .gau files, by memory) Thank you.
  2. Completely perplexed... I don't see why there's no way it won't control the AP, also, is there no method for troubleshooting this problem or logging events behind the scenes... is it a problem with fsuipc?!?! There must be something I can do to solve this problem! ugh. I'm going to try and get to the bottom of this... maybe there's some configuration somewhere that is mixed up. I would really appreciate if the developer could help me solve this. They probably know this setup better than anyone could possibly. Thank you for your acknowledgement.
  3. Thank you kindly, I did actually stumble onto the detailed configuration menu... purely by accident. However I'm still struggling with getting the software working.
  4. I realize everyone is busy, but it's been a few days or more and I haven't received any replies. I have some problems with my new RXP GNS530 v2 software, if I could get responses to my problems I would appreciate it. Thank you.
  5. I just installed RXP GNS v2 and I'm having this problem. Here's the background: Clean system install, W7 64 bit (fully updated), FS9.1 run as amin, run as Win XP compatible sp3, large address aware. I initially installed the software, went for my first flight and it was working. I got about 3/4 the way to my destination (8hr total flight time, I was saving it lots because my experience is that fs always crashes and I didn't want to restart this flight over), I was playing with different items in the cockpit when all of a sudden it was starting to freeze; I had a recent save so I wasn't worried, however it was almost like it was still working so for about 20 minutes I was trying to see if I could get it fixed. I was flying on VATSIM via Swift, I could not recover the system. I quit to desktop and then restated everything. From the saved position everything loaded fine, was back online, everything good. Except however, the RXP gps software no longer connected with the autopilot. I had to continue the flight via heading bug following the gps track for 2 hours or so. I was fighting with configurations and such since trying to get everything sorted, I did not know how to access the menu so I was trying to write the aircraft .ini files manually, mine were mostly empty and didn't have all the info; I could not find these resources online easily and there are only a few listed in the manual/ documentation. Finally a couple days ago I figured out how to get the menu up and was hoping that would fix everything. It did not. I toggled Modes and deleted and created new files, nothing worked. Finally today I completely uninstalled and deleted ALL of the RXP files. Restarted the computer and reinstalled the RXP software. Even though this is new software I checked for updates, there are none. Install was successful with no errors. The default gps/autopilot work but this one does not. I copied the exact way I did things when I first installed it and worked; didn't open up or change the menu hoping it would initially work again, but it did not. Went into the menu and adjusted the settings (Master off - close - Master on, gps drives ap etc) nothing has fixed this. ALSO: Since I was changing the settings and selected all the gps drives HSI/VOR/OBS etc now my keystrokes for adjusting my compass does not work; so I can't fly with Autopilot on gps, AND I can no longer correct for wind drift! If this was a real airplane I would be screwed. lol I'm truly hoping you have a fix for me; please and thank you! Much appreciated.
  6. Okay so here's an update... I finally was able to find the configuration menu. Although that didn't solve my problem. I tried disabling "master device" and saving, same with GPS drives AP; and then re-enabled them; all does not work. The gps does not control the AP in NAV mode, the AC simply turns north and Flys a fixed heading 360. I did get the power forming on and off though, I thought you were supposed to push (hold) the power button not turn it (VOL), but I guess I can live with that. Just need to fix everything else. If ANYONE can help I would certainly appreciate it.
  7. Hello, In reading through the RXP GNS530/430 v2 manual I'm not understanding a few things, if someone could help enlighten me I would highly appreciate it. First of all, the settings. There are all these device options and gauge options, it is my understanding that these are set in an interface menu; but I do not know where to find that menu. I'm trying to set these settings in the .ini file in my aircraft folder, but I don't know what specifics to type in, in order to bypass the 'menu' I cannot find. Second, I'm not completely clear on exactly what all the options are doing, and why you would or would not want them on(set). For example, Connect GPS to AP & GPS to HSI. Is there a reason you want these off on a master device? I'm assuming GPS to HSI moves the HSI per GPS navigation; which seems to make sense, but why have an option to disable it, is there a practical reason? When would you use HSI/CRS (auto-slew)? Third, I noticed the GPS (compass heading) does not match the a/c magnetic heading, I switched this to true north and magnetic, but they don't match; am I supposed to sync my hsi with the magnetic compass on the dash or with the gps display? If it is set to the dash then my navigation is all messed up, if it is set to the gps then how can I trust there is no system failure if we are supposed to relay on the simple magnetic compass? That's it for now, I'm having other problems, but I've posted those already, just waiting for replies... Thank you for your time!
  8. Hello, It's been a long day so I'll keep this brief. First of all, I absolutely LOVE this software, finally got it working on my newer Windows 7 simulator upgrade (as of recent). At first the GNS was not interfacing with AP, I applied the fix in the .ini file and it worked; but then my system froze up on that flight 3/4 through, luckily I had been saving often and picked up where I left off. However the GNS stopped controlling the AP again, I landed and checked the file and it was rewritten as default. I should mention that at first when I opened the file it was not the standard "default" I had to manually type in all of the settings as seen in the pdf manual. This time the default was exactly the same as in the manual with additional lines, like background colour black. Anyways, I changed the file again to add the AP control lines. Then I flew today and for the whole flight it did not drive the AP, I had to control the heading bug to manually follow the GPS track. I haven't looked at the file yet, but it's probably defaulted again. Is there some reason it overwrites the file? Can I simply make this file "Read Only", would that fix this? Also, my PROC function never works. Every time I press my hardware button, no change occurs on the GNS. Every other button functions properly, I have verified the button assignments, still no luck. I think that's it, wish the brightness was adjustable, but I'm really liking this product. Thank you ever so much!
  9. Hello, How do you install these into fs9? Thank you for your time.
  10. I appreciate that, I was hoping I could just create some textures and make a few edits (similar to a repaint)... not sure if it's really worth it for me at this point to go through with all of that, perhaps in the future. Thank you for the info! p.s. I do see the interior textures (seats, pilot), however as stated those are most probably hard coded and defined in the cfg/air files. Messing with them would probably yield undesirable effects.
  11. Hello, So I got the RealityXP GNS530 v2 software working on my "newer" fs Windows 7 system. I read through the documentation and see that there are options to set power modes, such as off, on etc. I cannot find that menu where you configure that, I am hoping to link the unit to my hardware buttons so that I can power it on and off like the real unit. Instead it only turns on and off with the avionics master switch. Another issue I'm seeing is that the hold clear (CLR) function doesn't seem to reset to default nav, pressing clear works but there doesn't seem to be a cfg line for holding it. The RNS530 hardware configures this as two separate functions (key presses), but I'm not sure how to assign that in the RXP.ini. Thank you for your time.
  12. Okay so here's a brief update... I was unable to figure this out on my own. I started writing a Lua script to use the Ruscool RNS 530 hardware, interfacing through fsuipc, to control the stock GPS 500. I have recently bought a used pc and booted it with Windows 7 64 bit, it took me 4 days to get fs up and running, now I spent the last couple days installing the RealityXP Gns530 and I'm pretty happy so far. I also took the time to install the SPAD drivers, the customization is very nice to have, wish I knew about that years ago.
  13. Hello, I'm curious if there's any information as to how to create aircraft interior (seats, benches, tables etc)? I'm assuming this requires editing the .cfg file, and perhaps the air file or what ever else specified the area of the bitmap to use for textures; and then of course creating the textures themselves... If someone is willing to assist me with gaining this knowledge I would appreciative it, but if you point me to where the information is I can muddle through on my own. Thank you.
  14. I'm currently playing around with getting my Ruscool RNS530 hardware working through FSUIPC to work with the stock fs9 gps system. In doing that I'm also trying to get Reality XP to work. I subsequently copied the "settings\32" folder .dll files into the D:\fs2004\modules folder (I saw in some documents that the program should come up in the modules menu, just as FSUIPC. So I found where my system FSUIPC files where stored and then tried to interpret; it seems one of the files was there but I moved more of them from the 32 and bin folders.). Anyways, on FS startup I got the same error I once had... something about a debugger and then after that message I got this one: ERROR - FS9 Flight Simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software. You can continue using Flight Simulator but this aircraft or software will be disabled. File: rxpGNS2.dll Humph, will this rabbit hole ever end?! And what the heck is that debugger error and how do I stop all of this and fix it. (I realize most people's Dolton is to buy a new computer, with a new operating system, with a new MSFS, but I just don't have $3,000+ to spend on that right now; I need a practical solution for what I currently have) Thank you ever so much, I'm sorry if I'm a little frustrated, I sincerely appreciate ALL the help! Update: Clicked okay on that, got the error bong sound, then everything seems frozen. Look at the Taskbar and I have "two" fs windows "open". One is the ordinary FS program, the other is Reality XP GNS Simulator, which is a small box but grayed out and empty 'Not Responding'. Okay, so now I systematically deleted the just added .dll files, as I started fs9 they sustenance errored, I deleted each one until I'm left with the rxpGNS2_menu. dll; no error with that. However it's still not listed in my modules menu.
  15. Alright, a long overdue update... I have the following files and their locations: C:\Program Files\Reality XP\Gauges\Debug\rxpGpsDebug\variables.xml ...\Debug\add-on.xml ...\Gauges\GPS Annunciation\add-on.xml ...\GPS Annunciation\rxpGpsAnnun (readme).rtf ...\GPS Annunciation\rxpGpsAnnun.cab ...\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\FltSim\ : ...\FltSim\32\add-on.xml ...\FltSim\32\rxpGNS2.dll ...\FltSim\32\rxpGNS2_menu.dll ...\FltSim\32\rxpSimCon32.dll ...\FltSim\64\ Nothing on my system is 64 bit, same file names as the 32 folder ...\FltSim\bin\rxpGnsSim32.dll ...\FltSim\bin\rxpGnsSim64.dll ...\FltSim\modeldef (RealityXP GNS V2).xml ...\FltSim\readme.rtfReality XP GNS V2 User's Manual (FltSim).pdf ...\FltSim\rxpfsxml.exeRXPGNS2.rxp ...\FltSim\unins000.dat ...\FltSim\unins000.exe C:\Program Files\Ruscool Electronics Ltd\Ruscool RNS530\FSUIPCClient.dll & RNS 530.exe C:\Doc & Set\'User Name'\App Data\Ruscool\RNS530\KeyCodes.xls & rns530_config.cfg C:\Doc & Set\All Users\App Data\Reality XP\Common\GnsTrainer\checklists ...\GnsTrainer\dbfiles ...\GnsTrainer\flightplans ...\GnsTrainer\GNS400W-500WSeriesTrainerLite_330 ...\GnsTrainer\checklists.zip ...\GnsTrainer\flightplans.zip ...\GnsTrainer\FlightPlanv1.xsd ...\GnsTrainer\GNS400WSeriesTrainerLite_330.zip ...\Common\Settings\RXPGNS.INI ...\Reality XP\Drivers\PFC\PFCHidReports32.dll ...\Reality XP\RXPGNS2.rxp ...\Reality XP\rxpGnsSim32.dll ...\Reality XP\rxpGnsSim64.dll ...\Reality XP\rxpGnsSim.dll ...\Reality XP\WinSparkle.dll D:\'MSFS2004'\Gauges\rxpGNS2.gau (I manually copied and moved this file) D:\'MSFS2004'\AC\panel\ cfg file: Changed - [window02] size same window size same position same BACKGROUND colour same VISIBLE same 》gauge00=rxpGNS2!GNS530, -29,-12,155,150 {entered that manually} That's everything I know of, typed on my phone - sorry if the format is no good. Please try and help; I'm going to try and get VATSIM working as well; not having much luck anymore. Thank you.
