Okay guys so i figured this out, When i updated Tomato-Shade it un-checked everything so the preset wasn't applying correctly. Open tomato-shade click file -> Open -> (open your preset, i used the default) . Then click Actions -> apply. Open reflection maker restore the aircraft in question then re-apply your preset! Hi Mike, Thank you for your reply, you are absolutely right locking my frames is definitely the best way to go and 120 Hz made a very small difference however i'm still having large FPS drops in highly populated area's. My old rig with a 6700K & 1060 was running P3D a mile better into lets say Amsterdam / New York however this new machine not to much 😞 Kind Regards Harry

Good Evening Lodestar, thank you for your reply, I tried this and reduced my RR to 59Hz as this is the minimum my monitor will run, I found V4 ran a bit smoother however i did a quick flight into Amsterdam and on approach, I had dips down to 7FPS 😞 however around Aberdeen i was locked nicely at 30, it seems to be as soon as i go near anywhere thats densely populated my frames pack up and go on holiday. I have checked my CPU useage and everything is normal it does rev up to the high 70's % during the approach but certainly better than Windows 10. Good Afternoon Mike, Thank you for your reply. I have carried out the CFG edits and i can see with unlimited frames I am getting around 80 - 123 FPS with a variation of around 10 - 16%. Flying around in the default scenario, however at locked at 30 FPS im getting 29.8 - 30 FPS with a variation of 0.3 - 2.0%. Kind Regards Harry Afternoon Lodestar, thank you for your reply! Just a quick update after my absence from the topic I have now reformatted to Windows 7 Ultimate and the difference in background processes is much better and P3D seems to peek at 90% at times much better compared to the 100% CPU usage of windows 10, literally all the time. As you mentioned limiting the frame's reduced the CPU load drastically ! :) However today i decided to fly the FSL Airbus from Aberdeen to London, this time when i installed V4 i only installed FTX Global Mesh 2018, ORBX Global Base, Open LC Europe & Rex Skyforce testing my sim 1 by one. There did not seem to be an issue. However after taking off from Aberdeen things became obvious very quickly that frames were dropping badly down to around 11 fps and i just decided I'd had enough and abandoned the flight 😞. I then rebooted the FSUIPC auto save from departure and did a quick test with the RR i managed to go into display setting and lower my RR to 30 Hz, this made the stuttering worse. I then tried 144 Hz and things were better however the drop in frames is definitely still there i know the FSL was probably not the best a/c to test things but ill definitely do some more testing ans see what happens. The weird thing is once id reformatted i installed P3D V3 so i can fly Concorde and I've done multiple flights at reasonably high settings without any frame drops! My frames are locked at 30 and its just silky. Something with V4 is incorrectly configured or not correct or more than likely I've doing something wrong but considering the reformat P3D V4 should be performing at reasonable settings i just hope we can get to the bottom of it ! Hi exeodus, thank for your reply, something is definitely not right as soon as a load up P3D the CPU is running at 100% with no decrease as i mentioned X-Plane (high settings) is running at 23% and its the same story with all of my other games. I am aware that P3D is not as well optimised and would expect a higher CPU usage but I would not expect it to hammer the CPU at 100% constantly with no drops in % at all. My previous rig never did this even with high settings even in a densely populated area id see the low 90's at maximum. I can hear the water cooling going crazy and I do not want to damage my CPU by running at 100% every time I'm flying. I definitely saw a performance increase on W7 on my old rig however I am going to format today and see how it goes. Kind Regards Harry

Good Afternoon All ! I finally have P3D V4 running on my new M.2 with just my ORBX products, Global Base, Open Lc Europe, FTX Sxotland & FTX ENG dissabled. I have "Vsync" dissabled & my frames limited to 40 Fps I can now happily fly around central London with 30 - 40 FPS, I do still see the odd drop to around 28-26 fps but on the whole its better. (RR 60Hz- Minimum) However now my major problem is CPU usage, by looking in task manager i'm seeing 90 - 100 % usage and believe me I can hear it my cpu cooling working very hard but the temps are within range. I have looked on various other threads and it seems to me it could be an over-clock issue. So I am going to dial back from 4.6 GHz and see if I can get the CPU usage into I nice range. I'm currently doing a test in X-Plane, i'm flying over the centre of London with around 23% CPU usage and 48% GPU,Ii am aware XP is way better optimised but it should give me an idea of during gaming / sim-ming where my cpu is at and I can rule out any issues with hardware. I may also be able to get somewhere with calculating a proper affinity mask instead of just using the auto calculator ? Finally I am seriously considering moving back to Windows 7 ! I have had nothing but problems with Windows 10 and despite going through all the optimisation guides i'm still running 148 background processes. I had much better performance with windows 7 on my old rig ! However the only problem that is holding me back from going back to W7 is I use an Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro to stream with and it reads in their specification: "Please Note: Elgato Game Capture HD60 S and Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro only work with Windows 10" However this is only mentioned about the software not the PC which is running the capture card. Hi all thank you for all your messages and advice, I have now dropped my RR to 60 Hz that is the lowest it will go. I have un-installed everything P3D V4, all i am waiting on now is my M.2 to arrive tomorrow and i will install everything one by one. I also need to get my windows processes on a leash! currently I am running 165 background processes & I only have opera open😮 On Lodestars recommendation I will visit the link he sent previously. I was watching core temp during my flight and it was not satisfactory peaking abit to high at 89 degrees so i'm going to re-over-clock this afternoon as I reset last night to prevent damage. I think i may drop to 4.6 - 4.7 but ill be happy with 4.6 after all I have plenty of cores. Thank you for noticing this, that is a lot of unnecessary processes!! I did follow the video above however the comments are not good, so I am not entirely sure weather i should reverse the process however its hard to tell with the mixed comments. I will go and have a look at tweakhound right now and get to work. I think going forward i will lower my refresh rate to 59 Hz (lowest setting) or 60 Hz which would you recommend? I am also considering P3D on my external SSD hard drive what do you think ? Kind Regards Harry

Evening lodestar thank you very much for your reply, I have just done a flight from LHR to AMS in the 737-700 with all your inspector & P3D settings sadly turning off V-sync and limiting frames made things worse so I switched it back on & set my frames to unlimited. This seemed to help, my experience is limiting frames on some peoples rigs works well and some it dosent more like a game of roulette as theoretically you are absolutely correct. I was getting frame drops as lower than 10 FPS 😞 please see attached pictures. Although i did get my first look at true earth 😮 😮 (Amazing). Anyway I have started some research on the XML way of thinking however with so many add-on's n still required to overwrite all of the existing BGL's, Textures / Gauges I may give it a miss for now however its definitely not off the cards. Another thought is i am running P3D on a 10TB drive and i was wondering if this could cause any issues ? X-Plane is not running on this drive so maybe it would be worth re-installing P3D onto the C:\ drive with X-Plane? Finally i think using Lorby as you suggested and reboot my universe (V4) & add each add-on at a time and see if this helps as i have changed so many settings im also going to reset my CPU over-clock back to standard. However the only problem I can for-see in doing this is my base clock runs at 3.6 GHz and Intel Turbo will crank all 8 cores up to 4.3 GHz and from what i've read and heard P3D does not utilise Turbo mode very well, would i be better off running standard Turbo or over-cloking to the turbo max freq of 4.3? Lenny I have un-ticked FTX ENG from the scenery library using scenery config editor and still getting stuttering although better its still dropping for that 1 second to 11 FPS 😕 Thank you for your reply ieydis, I have down bumped it down to 2X MSAA & upped the anti A to 16x now still the same issue but i will keep those settings there 🙂 Hi Lodestar thank you for your reply, okay i will delete the cfg, shaders & scenery indexes later and download Lorby and just to clarify by reset everything to default do you mean un-install P3D and start again ? Afternoon Ladies & Gents, I hate to have to bother you but I am almost at my whits end trying to fix the issues with my P3D V4 performance. First I shal start with my specs: OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit Drives: ( C:\ Drive: Seagate BarraCuda 1TB SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive, 1TB Capacity, 7200RPM) (D:\ Drive Seagate BarraCuda Pro 10TB SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive, 10TB Capacity, 7200RPM) << P3D & XP Running on this drive Motherboard: Asus Prime Z299 Deluxe Intel i7-7820X 8C 16TH, Overcloked to 4.8 Ghz Ram: HyperX Fury 32 GB DDR4 SD Ram GPU: Asus Ge Force 1080 Ti Monitor: Samsung LC49HG90DMUXEN 49" Curved 1ms Ultra Wide 144Hz Monitor I will try and explain my problem without telling you my life story but here goes. So when I first received my rig as I am sure you can imagine I was excited, I installed P3D V4.2 with all my add-ons geared up for that first flight, once I had taken off I seemed to have awful frames & stutters. It was the same story in X-Plane after speaking to the seller of my pc we agreed to reformat my system and hey presto it worked i'm now running around 40 FPS at Manchester with high settings (in X-Plane)! Then it became P3D's turn to be re-installed with all my add-ons. So initially it seemed to be running okay until I decided to fly into Heathrow or any densely populated area for that matter. My frames in the cruise are around 60-70 FPS which is very nice until I get near any auto-gen this is my theory anyway my frames in a matter of 5-8 seconds can see my frames change from 40 / 30 / 18 sometimes even lower it makes for a very stuttery experience 😞 This was happening before I over-clocked my CPU so today I decided to over-clock to hopefully re-claim some frames and make my overall experience better however over-clocking has made no difference if I load up at Heathrow I am initially greeted with 26 FPS. The moment I take-off its dropping to 11 and below and its a similar experience at Amsterdam and with my specs I should be achieving at least a steady 30 FPS as my friend with a i7-7700 & a 1080 Ti & 16 GB can have his sliders considerably higher than me and still achieve 30 frames with the same add-ons. Neither the less I have tried the following fix's so to speak: Avsim general P3D de-bugging guide / Changed refreshed rates / tried using process lasso / re formatting P3D /Tried over-clocking GPU (MSI Afterburner) / Tried changing resolution as I am using 3840 X 1080 / tried using a Affinity Mask / Tried using Nvidia Inspector. / Tried deleting shaders, scenery index's etc. I've basically tried everything I can think of to no avail 😞. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!! Here is a list of addons im running FS Global 2018 Mesh ORBX Global Base Pack / FTX Global open LC Europe / FTX Trees / FTX Lights / FTX Eu England / FTX EU Scotland REX Skyforce PTA PMDG 747 / NGX etc. Please find pictures of my settings below, thank you in advance for your help, I wouldn't post on here if i really didn't have any other avenue to pursue. I'm at my wits end guys I hope someone out there will be able to help me I've searched everywhere but other posts seem to be when trying to load P3D and receive the error.
