Thanks guys, Unfortunately none of the next handover or cancelling ifr, re applying for ifr before saving again etc measures have any effect. Even after 1,000 miles of flight and many centres later, ATc still keeps trying to route me in the departure airport direction! SteveW - the saved file is pointing to the correct GPS plan but without the PLN extension; could this be a factor?

I am experiencing some unexpected ATC directions after reloading a previously saved flight. Basic Scenario FSX-SE flying a Carenado EMB505 from EGPK to LIRP with default ATC. After approx. 30 minutes into the flight, flying "own navigation" on autopilot (current course 160°) and tuned to Manchester Centre. I then save the flight, end flight, exit FSX and shut down. On returning later, start up FSX and load the saved flight. After establishing that the plane is fully configured and that the correct waypoint is active on the FMC. I request IFR clearance. Manchester Centre responds and then directs me to turn right onto heading 340°, which it keeps repeating ad infinitum, if I ignore the message. Following the direction takes me all the way back to EGPK! So far I have tried cancelling IFR and flying onto the next ATC centre area before requesting a new clearance after reloading the flight plan again, but no change. Just the constant and persistent "turn right onto heading 340°". Proceeding on the flight for a period on time before saving the flight again and then reloading the later flight just results in the same behaviour. I'm completely baffled. Any help appreciated. Hi Marteen, I have just purchased an aircraft for FSX thru Steam. This is steam Download Content (DLC) which, however is not installed in the usual C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder. Steam installs each one in a separate numbered directory stream below "DLC" e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\DLC\379575\SimObjects\Airplanes. This more convoluted routing is not picked by SLX's database builder. While it appears possible to fool SLX by dropping another copy of the files from the DLC sub folder stream into the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder, I don't know yet if this may have an adverse impact on FSX itself. Can this be fixed? NB when SLX is running alongside FSX when an aircraft is not loaded in the SLX database, SLX goes into an endless loop flashing up error message after error message advising that this is the case. Hi Maarten, Did you ever resolve this issue? In the last couple of updates up to and including 6350.3559, when I first start SLX the Flights window correctly shows the last flight, but with a blue border and the Aircraft changed to an Augusta Westland. I have never selected or flown an Augusta Westland (although I do have YVL- Yeovil; home of Westlands selected as a waypoint :-) ). Switching to another flight, without saving, and then reverting to the original flight restores the correct Aircraft. Regards, Michael

Hi Maarten, My favourite plane to fly is the mjc Q400, which because of its unique FMC format does not take data straight from SLX. So I tend to plan my flights in SimBrief and export the data to both the Q400 and FSX. I then use SLX to make any adjustments, which are then manual programmed into the Q400 FMC. One of the main activities in SLX is to apply SID, STAR and Approach data, which, if I am correct FSX does not store in its pln files(?) Accordingly I use the flatten tool to convert all the additional info into waypoints for saving in the pln file. However I have noticed that once flattening is applied and the waypoint table updates, SLX does not highlight that a change has been made and the toolbar ribbon does not prompt for a "Save". In order to allow me to save the amended Flight Plan I have to make some sort of other change e.g. tweaking the altitude. Not a significant issue but still an nuisance. Regards, Michael

Hi Maarten, Starting with version 5.9.6345.42019 I am noticing that the User Aircraft is not tracking my Flight Plans; the icon seems to be stuck somewhere off the coast of Nigeria. I don't know if it is some sort of Simconnect issue as my log file (copy attached) is showing a number of errors where there is a "Pipe Connection Failed". Hope you can advise. Hi Maarten, Airac 1705 installed. I have subsequently installed SimLauncherX_5.9.6338.3227 and the problem is still there, although if I revert to SimLauncherX_5.9.6329.38597 normal service is resumed. Thanks for the intention to investigate. Michael

Just installed latest version (5.9.6338.3227) which appears to have lost the ability to capture approach transitions. If an approach is entered on the Flight Plan page the drop down box for a transition is not appearing. Michael
