  1. I had MSFS in both Series X and PC, side by side. Don’t get me wrong, the game is beautiful, but it is not 4K. It is just not. It is a 1440p well-scalled by Xbox to 4K output. And lots of things are clearly not Ultra. Some of them are low. Few of them are Ultra. Most of them are High. Still enjoyable though. But it is far, far, far away from PC 4K Ultra. It is hard (I would even say impossible) to compare with videos in YouTube due to compression. But I saw both 4K Ultra PC and Series X so I know what I am talking about.
  2. Nothing in store and I cannot even play the game. MSFS is a shame!!
  3. There are a couple of addons that are compatible with xbox, but at the minute just few of them. If you own anything on PC it doesn’t mean you’ll be able to use it on Xbox.
  4. Thought MSFS was CPU limited? I haven’t played it since su5 though so not sure if something has changed
  5. I had so many addons in my FSX… FS2002 airplanes, FS98 sceneries, tons of free/pay content. No CTD at all. It just doesn’t make sense things like “oh, clear your community folder” or “tweak this *cfg file” or “change priorities in task manager”.
  6. MSFS for Xbox is awesome but it is not the same as 4K ULTRA on Win 10. And unfortunately lots of reviewers don't say that. Also, we were bombarded with lots of videos comparing side by side in both platforms. In youtube you have compression and quality loss and things are never the same side by side. I say that because for some reason I preferred my system running at 133% render scaling 1080p rather than 4K in Series X. I started to wonder why, cause it didn't make sense, I'm not a computer/consoles expert, but this is what my eyes were seeing. And I was not running in Ultra, most of things in High and some of them in Ultra. Also the Glass Cockpit refresh rate in Xbox is set to "low" and it is very annoying. I fell frustrated when I see lots of reviewers in youtube saying that MSFS in Xbox Series X and PC look the same, but they don't. Of course PC will cost more, but the experience will be better. Another thing that frustrated me I didn't mention was the addons. Asobo told the developers to build their addons with lots of LOD levels (which means that in a distance the game will render less object with less detail). I started to wonder if the developers would adhere to that. For example, I loved the ORBX Great Britain for MSFS, but for now it is only available for PC. Who knows why... are they trying (or maybe struggling) to optimize it for Xbox? How Xbox will handle addons? Anyway, this is my view, I have other points of view I could share if people ask as well. Maybe I could do a video to clarify things, but I didn't find (yet) a true comparison between PC and Xbox.
  7. Hello. I had been playing MSFS since its launch in the PC and decided to go to the Series X. Don’t get me wrong: it looked amazing! However after 2 weeks I saw its limitation. The graphs are not in Ultra, the anti aliasing/filtering are not the same as in the PC, stutters are still there and when flying over big cities like Paris and London, the FPS drops below 30. Also, the mouse interface is bad. It is indeed a very good game for Series X/S and a truly next-gen. Having it in a £249 console (Series S) is amazing. But I want more, more graphs, I want Orbx Sceneries, PMDG, I want my Logitech Panel to work, I want to not need to pay Xbox Gold to play online… Also, I was very disappointed when I found out that Forza Horizon 5 will be capped at 30FPS in Quality Mode. Gents, Flight Sim is OK at 30 FPS, but racing games? No. Also, as a XPlane fan, I am following the news about the next gen Xplane, let’s ser what happens. I always flew in XP but gave up to MSFS but in a Xbox you cannot fly Xplane. So yeah I’m happy to be back. And don’t get me wrong: long life for the xbox MSFS support, it is amazing, but PC is (much) better.
  8. I had a couple CTD in my Xbox so I’m wondering how should I call it 😂
  9. Interesting to know that many of these issues are happening to the xbox version (I use Xbox series X) so now PC users cannot blame 3rd party content, OC etc 😂. Asobo has a huge job to do.
  10. Im having exactly the same stutter. I’m on the xbox series x
  11. There we go! I will try to be simple, direct and easy to understand. I started in the flight sim world in 2000s I made sceneries, airplanes etc mainly for FS2004 and FSX I own X-Plane, MSFS PC and now MSFS Xbox Personal circumstances Situation 1: I love airplanes, I love flight sims, but I barely play them cause I don't have enough time Flight Sim is an expensive hobby I have: Logitech X52 Pro Logitech Throttle Quadrant Thrustmaster Pedals Logitech Autopilot Panel Situation 2: Sold my Gaming (or let's say "Flight Sim PC") and my 1080p screen for £940 Geforce GTX 1080ti, 32GB RAM, Ryzen 3600, 1TB SSD Bought Xbox Series X for £450 Bought 4K 60Hz screen for £330 Bought Controller Adapter for £80 Well, the day arrived. In Xbox we pre-download the game before the launch on 27th July. But when I was going to play it for the first time... guess what? My sim started to update! Had to wait for 1h10min (100 Mbps internet). The game launches quite fast, looks like the Xbox uses the storage technology it has to process the data. The menus are the same, bla bla bla, and I will not review this interface here. Yes, mouse and keyboard (if compatible) works in the menu but the mouse behaviour is bad. Performance My first flight was in Liverpool, where I live, with a Cessna. Flight Sim is capped at 30 FPS and it is noticeable. I used to get 50 FPS, 60 FPS in my old PC with settings in High and had a very good quality image (1080p render scale 130%). But now things have changed. I have a worse performance and I knew that. However, the airplane just... flies. Yes, it does and it is enjoyable, even at 30FPS. I recon that I prefer 60FPS than 30FPS, who not? My second flight was in New Work with a 747. I used to get 19 - 25 around in the airport and 30, 35 maximum over the city. Now I get 30FPS and in 4K. The sim runs smooth. However, some stutters are still noticeable. Keyboard and mouse works, you can click on the instruments, autopilot, etc, it is all good. Same as in the PC version. You can do everyhing, change radio frequencies, manage GPS etc. It is good and works. But as I said... the mouse behaviour, it is worse than the PC. I think they had to make it "worse" so the xbox players with the controller can interact better with the menus. It looks like the cursor has a kind of acceleration/deacceleration, which should help for those with xbox controller only. The flight is good. I can just take off, use my Logitech X52 Pro and my Logitech Throttle to control it (yes, I can and I will tell you how) and it feels good! Image Quality The image quality is worse than the PC in Ultra settings. The anti-aliasing, anti-filtering, all the GPU stuffs looks better in the PC. The image in the PC is smoother and prettier. However, I can now play in 4K HDR, something I couldn't do before (my old screen was a 1080p, no-HDR, and I my old PC couldn't manage 4K). It is hard to say which settings Asobo has put in High, low, Medium etc, maybe someone in the future do a comparison with the PC version, but yeah, if you are going to Xbox, expect a worse image quality. I think it is something between Medium and High with some settings in Ultra (draw distance, 4K etc) and others in low (the refresh rate of the instruments in the cockpit are bad). Controllers I managed to use my Logitech Joystick and Throttle with the Xbox Adaptive Controller, but lots of buttons don't work. I will buy the Titan 2 to adapt them to the Xbox, I expect them to work. Mouse and Keyboard work with no issues and it is a must. Conclusion Errr, yeah, PC experience is definitely better. I didn't have the chance to test the Sim Updated released today because I sold my PC so I don't know how big was the FPS increase with the update. As I said, I barely played Flight Simulator and all my friends have consoles (we play Fifa and other games and they are not cross platform). But I am still a simmer, not a gamer. Moving from PC to Xbox is a hard choice, but it will depends on each person. I sold my PC/screen for 940 and bought the xbox/4k screen for 780. And 90 for the Xbox Adaptive Controller (same price as Titan 2). So I have here £70 pounds profit. What I can say is that the 4K experience is awesome, not only for MSFS, but for the other games I play and for the things I do with my laptop connected to the screen. The Xbox as everyone knows is not big compared to a gaming PC, which usually is huge. The Xbox has a very limit set of devices to play flight sims (I think there are just 1 or 2 but more are coming! :D) My advice for those who are thinking to move to the Xbox is: Wait for reviews and, if possible, buy a Xbox with the return option so if you regret it you can return the console If you are in a budget, just get the Thrustmaster Hotas One for Xbox (£80), the Series S (£250) and a mouse/keyboard (£20) = £350. You will be able to fly a wonderful sim for just £350. And, trust me, the flight experience is good. I doubt you can run P3D or X-Plane spending only £350? If you decide to go with Xbox, bear in mind you will be limited with devices, customization, hardwares and addons. There are already lots and lots of addons in the marketplace, most of them are compatible with Xbox I don't think IVAO, VATSIM, FSUIPC etc will work in Xbox (at least in the short term) Stay in the PC if you have money. Feel free to ask any questions. I'm a simmer so I know quite a lot of flight sims. Regards, Matheus
  12. Try to pause and resume. Worked for me. If it slows down, do it again
