Hello, Looking for a new 1440p monitor. Current rig is a 7800x3d / 7900 xtx build. I was wondering if there was any preference if I was going to use the PC mostly for sim use, occasional gaming and working with spreadsheets. I've always had IPS monitors for the last few years, and was never really satisfied with the how dark cockpits looked. OLED panels are out of my budget, as only the absolute top end models have been released here so far. Is color reproduction and black smearing that much worse on VA panels ? Also, do Ultrawide monitors have any advantage when flyiing other than a larger FOV ? If I were lookiing for a curved monitor, what is the curvature that is comfortable to use ? I've seen as low as 1800R to 3200R. Some monitors which I've been considering 1440p IPS : Acer Nitro XG272U V3, Acer VG271U M3, Gigabyte M27Q 14400p VA : LG 32GB650, LG 34GP63, Gigabyte M34Q Some of these may seem a bit old, but that's just how the market here in India is. Only the top end models are released the same year as US releases. Mid range and budget models usually take some time before they find their way here. Thanks

Planning on a 850W PSU from Asus (Loki). I was looking at the Cooler Master and Corsair 850W ones, but pretty much all reviews said that they were fairly louder at even medium loads. VR isn't the primary aim of this build. Just getting a steady and smooth frame rate with good aircraft and add-ons. I'm leaning towards the AMD option as the 3090 has DLSS 2 which isn't as good as DLSS 3, which is what the current gen supports. That was my line of thought as well. Which is why I was looking at either the 3090 or the 7900xtx, both with 24GB of VRAM. If Meteor Lake was coming out, then it'd probably make sense to build an Intel config, but the current LGA 1700 socket will be obsolete next year when they release Meteor Lake next year. AMD will have at least one, hopefully two or more generations of upgrades available for the same socket.

Hello, Building new sim PC. Starting from scratch, since old hardware is pretty old at this point. Just wanted to get a 2nd opinion on the planned parts. Current gen NVIDIA GPU prices are just insane here in India, so I can either get a new 7900xtx or a open box 3090 in my budget. Another thing I wanted to confirm is does RAM speed really matter for MSFS ? 6000MHz kits are fairly reasonably priced, beyond that prices increase exponentially. Will this build be good for VR as wel? I don't have a VR headset yet, but definitely want to get one if it can run on this hardware. CPU - AMD Ryzen 7800x3d GPU - AMD 7900 XTX / RTX 3090 MoBo - Gigabyte Aorus ULTRA 670E RAM - 32 GB G.Skill CL36 DDR 5 kit. SSD - 2 x 2TB Crucial P5 SSD, 2 x 4TB crucial mx 500 SSD. Cooler - Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Case - Lian Li O11 Mesh / Lian Li Lancool II mesh Cheers P.S Building a new PC after almost 5years, so please feel free to mention anything I may have missed.

Hello, I'm building a new FS pc. Need help finalising the GPU for the build. I'm in India, so prices are in INR. I can either get an Asus Strix 3090 for 70k or a Sapphire Nitro 7900XTX for around 105k. Is there any advantage to getting one over the over ? Both are within budget tbh, I'm just curious if NVIDIA last gen DLSS has any significant advantages over current gen AMD. Cheers

Hello fellow simmers, I've been flying in flight sims since FS2000. The last sim I used was FS9. I've been away from the flight sim world since then. Now that I have some time, I thought I would get back in the air, I am confused as to which sim should I get since there are quite a few available options. I did give X-plane 11 demo a spin, but that doesnt work too well on my computer. My specs are Operating System Windows 10 Home 64-bit CPU Intel Core i7 4720HQ @ 2.60GHz 60 °C Haswell 22nm Technology RAM 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 (11-11-11-28) Motherboard LENOVO Lenovo Y50-70 (U3E1) 65 °C Graphics Standard Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz) BenQ G2220HD (1920x1080@60Hz) Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Lenovo) 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M (Lenovo) 55 °C ForceWare version: 385.41 SLI Disabled Storage 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10S21X-24R1BT0-SSHD-8GB (SATA) 52 °C 931GB TOSHIBA External USB 3.0 USB Device (USB (SATA) What sim would you recommend that I could run smoothly on this configuration ?
