  1. I've figured out how to answer most of the questions I've asked, if anyone can fill in those I'm still unsure of, it would be greatly appreciated. How do I properly replace the existing airport within the P3D library with my new updated one? IN WINDOWS EXPLORER:- Go to C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery- Create a new folder called 'Addon Scenery'- Go into it and create 2 new folders, 'scenery' and 'texture'- Copy your .bgl file from where you saved it (in my case it's C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\Airport Design Editor 175\P34\Projects)- Paste it into the 'scenery' folderIN P3D:- Scenery > Add Area... > Browse > Choose C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery\Addon Scenery- 'Scenery are title:' field should automatically be filled in with 'Addon Scenery'- In the list, the 'Addon Scenery' should be under 'Scenery Area' column as priority 1- OKWhere do I put my bgl files?- C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery\Addon Scenery\scenery- refer to above for more in depth stepsHow to I automatically detect what location my new airport is in, and then go to it?IN P3D:LOCATION > Change Airport... > Type in ICAO ID or Airport name to narrow down options in the listIs there a way to change the coordinates input from DMS to DD?UnknownTry to avoid doing this as this will result in problems such as plane not aligning with runway properly, being partially submerged in the ground, crashing on startup, etc.How do I navigate the airport runways without necessarily knowing how to fly the plane?Y - Turn on Slew Mode, red text will appear at Top Left CornerOptional: F11 to see 3PV or planeF3 - increase speed to go higherF4 - increase speed to go higher FASTERF1 - increase speed to go lower till you hit the groundF2 - STOP HEIGHTDisable Numpad to navigate, make sure Pause is off8 - increase speed forward2 - increase speed backward4 - increase speed left6 - increase speed right5 - STOP MOVING ALL7 - increase dip speed left9 - increase dip speed right1 - increase rotate speed left3 - increase rotate speed rightAdditionally, this video might help with slew mode navigation:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeyoZmqCA18
  2. Hi everyone, I'm new to flight sims in general so please excuse my inexperience. I've recently made adjustments to an airport in Airport Design Editor(ADE) and exported my file as a .bgl. The edits made were done using this tutorial: As such, the coordinate information should be accurate. My question is, how do I PROPERLY replace the existing airport within the P3D library with my new updated one? An important related question is where do I put my bgl files? I've watched a couple of youtube videos and read some forums posts, and they generally agree that it should be in the C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery\Addon Scenery folder. However, when I navigated through this path, I found no 'Addon Scenery' folder. Should I create one? Should it be in this folder? Because I've tried doing that and it caused P3D to have problems loading. I've had to delete a couple of obscure files just to get it running again. I've also heard that I should create a 'texture' and 'scenery' folder within the 'Addon Scenery' folder, so I'm a little confused as to what the correct workflow is; exactly what folders I need to create, what should be in them, and where they should be. Also, I've read this thread: but there are so many pages and they go into a bunch of code and I don't really understand what's going on. Another question I have is how to I automatically detect what location my new airport is in, and then go to it? So far, the only way I can do that is to go the Prepar3D Scenario Setup screen > Location: > Change Location and then copy the coordinates from SBuilderX and manually type them in. Even then, the aircraft isn't oriented properly. It's either submerged halfway inside the ground, or pointing in the wrong direction, or both. Is there a way to fix this? Related: Is there a way to change the coordinates input from DMS(the one with the North South etc) to simple DD(JUST numerical values)? Right now by default it's the former. Is there a way to change this? Finally, I'd also like to be able to just navigate the airport runways without necessarily knowing how to fly the plane. Kind of like how the guy in the tutorial I posted up there did at 59:55. What are the basic controls to go forwards, backwards, left, right, up and down while in the scenario? Thanks for any and all help provided! 🙂

  4. Update: I found out how to solve that issue of the greyed out 'Show Background', but there appears to be another missing folder! HOW TO SOLVE: You need to choose a tile server. This uses a google plug in and requires internet connection. edit > preferences(some versions dont have this) ELSE edit > tile servers > select 'google_api3_Satelite' > CHECK the checkbox beside it The is a prompt when I try to pan a scene that reads the following: "Globally Exeption. Could not find a part of the path 'C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\SBX315\Tools\Cursors\pan.cur'." I went to the path and the 'Cursors' folder was missing. Where can I find/download this folder?
  5. Hi, I just installed SBX after installing Prepar3d, and somethings arent working correctly. When I start SBX, it gives me prompts which say the following: -Check your Polys.txt file! -Check your Lands.txt file! -Check your Waters.txt file! -Check your Bridges.txt file! I'm currently unable to show the background in SBX. When I navigate View > Show background, the text for "Show background" is greyed out and I can't click it. Why is this? Initial FSX Settings: --------------------------------- Full Path to Flight Simulator: C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 - (in RED) Name of the Simulator: P3D Shp2Vec.exe, Resample.exe and ImageTool.exe: (unable to load folder where these items ACTUALLY are) BglComp.exe and BglComp.xsd: C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\SBX315\Tools - (in black) Shp2Vec.exe, Resample.exe and ImageTool.exe: (unable to load folder where these items ACTUALLY are) --------------------------------- I noticed that it says on that dialog box that "The following tools should exist in the SBuilderX/Tools folder.", so I copied the files(Shp2Vec.exe, Resample.exe, ImageTool.exe, Shp2Vec.exe, Resample.exe and ImageTool.exe) from the P3d subfolders into the SBuilderX/Tools folder. After this, the FSX Settings dilog box looked like this: --------------------------------- Full Path to Flight Simulator: C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 - (in black) Name of the Simulator: P3D Shp2Vec.exe, Resample.exe and ImageTool.exe: C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\SBX315\Tools - (in black) BglComp.exe and BglComp.xsd: C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\SBX315\Tools - (in black) Shp2Vec.exe, Resample.exe and ImageTool.exe: C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\SBX315\Tools - (in black) --------------------------------- Thanks!
  6. hi, noob here. I wanna tinker with ADE and I've already downloaded it, but it says I need to have a version of Flight Simulator installed first. Can anyone tell me if instead of having Flight Simulator, can I have Prepar3d installed and still have ADE working? Thanks!
