  1. I have experienced a problem where the settings seemed to refuse to let me keep the Master device setting on #1 with my dual 750 setup. I think it related to changing the autopilot integration settings while trying to understand the descriptions of same in the manual versus the interaction with my aircraft's systems (Bell 412 and 429). I ended up editing the INI file by hand to set the Master to #1 after learning how the sections relate to each other and the units/displays. The problem went away, I'm sorry to say so I can't tell you how I got there. But it did happen. @Xohlon Did the KA350 setup for the RXP come with an RXP INI file? If so maybe replace the one you now have with the original INI file that came with the KA350/RXP setup. The problem can happen with something in the iNI file.
  2. @RXP thank you! This could be useful but I'd like a bit more depth. I assume that override_fd is a DataRef which, when set to true/1 allows you to take control of the FD deviation needles? Assuming the AP uses that as its steering input this ought to work. I have the GTN set as Master, and Connect GPS to Autopilot. How can I determine the "internal autopilot state within XP11"? I'd like to know how that relates to the mode(s) in the 412/429 AFCS. I have some leverage with the AFCS developer at X-Trident as I helped him get the skid/slip indicator into a real-world state a few years ago and I talk with him regularly. It would be fun to get GPS steering into the AFCS to work. Not essential though. Overall it's quite usable now.
  3. OK, I will look farther. Everything else works, but I believe the AFCS runs off the ADI/HSI deviation and course (or heading depending on the mode) bug. I don't believe it is listening to steering directly from the GTN 750.
  4. Interesting. What is your aircraft and autopilot type?
  5. I do ... Pilot's Guide, GTN 725/750 - SSV 6.60 / Revision R / Mar 2019 / 190-01007-03 ... but I don't find info here except in a few places it says "roll steering is provided to aircraft with compatible autopilots" for example Section 6.5.
  6. I'm sorry but on Avsim searching returns a flood of irrelevant matches (or I am too stupid to figure out how to search within just this section)? Anyway, what do I need to do for the autopilot on the Bell 429 (which is actually the X-Trident Bell 412 autopilot) to follow a GTN 750 holding pattern? In other respects the autopilot flies the procedures from the 750 flight plans. However on arrival at a holding fix, it simply keeps flying straight. If I switch to HDG mode and manually steer it around the hold, the 759 happily reports the turnpoints, and flips the to-from arrow when passing abeam the holding fix after the turn to outbound. It just won't steer the ship through the autopilot. Is there something that the aircraft author needs to do? Or is there something I can do? I've played around with the RXP settings but I've just managed to break other functionalith ha ha.
  7. OK, I recovered from backup. The previous (working) package is the one with C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\bin\GTN Simulator.exe (6.50.10) which was installed with GarminTrainerSetup_2310.exe. This installer appears to be unavailable, and if you find one and run it. it shifts you over to _2400 anyway. If you have a system image backup, here's how to recover: Leave the latest Garmin Trainer (package 2.4.0.0) installed. You are going to replace the files with the earlier ones manually. In C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin delete the Trainers folder and replace with the Trainers folder from your system backup. Verify that you have reverted by looking at C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\bin\GTN Simulator.exe for version 6.50.1.0 (hover with mouse or right click > Properties > Details tab). In C:\ProgramData\Garmin delete the Trainers folder and replace with the Trainers folder from your system backup. This folder is huge, it contains the Nav Data. I tried to run the old trainer with the new data, no go. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\bin\ and right click GTN Simulator.exe, select Run as Administrator. Let it open, give it a few secs then close the GTN. It will not start. After doing this, my RXP GTN came up in all three aircraft in which I have it installed.
  8. Sh** I found the 2.3.1 installer and when I fired it up, it forced itself to update to 2.4.1. Now I'm gonna need to go to my system backup and manually replace the trainer info in Program Data and Program Files (x86)... wish me luck.
  9. Yes, I screwed up and, along with upgrading RXP, installed the 2.4.0.0 Garmin Trainer package which has the 6.62 GTN750. I'm also dead in the water. Will try to find the older installer. Dang it! I can't blame RXP, the 6.62 came out June 19. I installed in hopes of having newer nav data. Bad idea.
  10. I did find the Store FAQ by the way. This didn't help much because I didn't create a F1 account when I bought the licenses (750 and 650). And that is a pretty snarky thing to say to a paying customer. Sorry there @RXP. I guess I am just stupid. OK I found all of my RXP info on the backup though. Whew. When I tried to install with the keys, that didn't work. I got a "keys activated too many times" error. After a hell of a lot of searching I found the place on the F1 site where you could refresh keys without the F1 account. That sent me an email with a link to a page where you enter order number "starting with CN" or something like that. . I found my Proof Of Purchase certs for each, used the big alpha numeric number shown, to no avail. Finally I discovered a small light red numeric order number in the upper right of the proof and that was the final piece of the puzzle. Success! Now I could go back and use the "reinstall", select your .key file for the 650 or 750, then the isntallation went through. In the end I was successful. PS: I have never moved the RXP to any other computer, and only done one "reinstall" (which is actually just installing an update like I was trying to do earlier tonight) last September. @RXP, given your sensitivity, the other snarky thing from @fppilot (I started by saying I did not have a F1 account) and the extreme complexity of the licensing and updating system, I can only conclude that software piracy must have been a giant problem in the past. Having made my living as a professional software developer for years now (and not a corporate IBMer or anything like that), I'll say that the licensing system is as complex and arcane as any I have ever encountered. Just some feedback from a customer. I will end by saying that the product itself is totally brilliant, a very nice piece of software engineering in a complex environment. It brings a wonderful piece of realism to simulation. I'm looking forward to the new Garmin emulations I saw coming soon.
  11. When I bought it I didn't make a F1 account (like I said in my OP). I just realized that I have a backup of my game system in my safe from Septenber and that's the last time I updated the 650 and 750. I'm 99% certain that the keys will be on that backup. Thanks for the help though!!
  12. I can't find any way to get a replacement 750 license key, nor can I find any link to any sort of customer support (not technical) on the RXP site. I can't even find an email address to send to. Somehow I deleted the 750 key which I thought I had stashed in the same place as the 650. I had it the last time I installed an update. I didn't get a F1 account, so the "wrapper service" is out. Submit a ticket takes me here. What now?
