  1. I haven't gotten a reply yet from @RTX, but it is the holiday and a lot of people are traveling... I rebuilt me computer recently and just upgraded to XP12. So far I have not been able to get my version of the GTN650 to load. Does anyone know if I need to purchase a new version or if there is an update I can get someplace? Or is there just something I'm missing in the installation that will not let me load into XP12. Thx
  2. I just tried it and it doesn't appear to work. I'll play with it a little more later to see if I can trick it by not moving all the files. Also, the SD Card I tried was created for installing the DB into multiple units. I may make one specific to the GTN and see if it makes a difference. Sure would be nice though if Garmin would let people with current subscriptions use their DB in the Trainer.
  3. As it is a Garmin Issue. For those that actually have a Garmin DB Subscription, I'd recommend you write to Garmin and push them to allow us to tie the Trainer to our Subscription. So then you'd have fully current databases. Actually wondering now if I can copy any of my legitimate DBs into the Trainer...
  4. Excellent! I missed that and when I read about Reinstalling/Moving I thought the process was removing the license from the 1st machine. In theory then, it should still be fully functional on the old machine since I didn't delete anything. And one other quick question... Where is the best place/way to check on updates? Thx!!
  5. Is there a way to "officially" load the GTN on two computers? I don't want to simultaneously use it on two computers, just want to be able to switch which one I'm using. I had moved the GTN off my old computer to my new one and now I may have a place to set up my old computer and leave it with the controls in place. I don't want to go through the Move again if I don't have to and this way it will still be on my faster computer if there is some reason I want to move the controls. That's why I was hoping there was a single "User" option vs. single machine. (Kind of like MS Office lets you load on multiple machines, but you can only use it on whatever you're licensed for at any give time.) Second option, which I don's see on the RXP website, is there a super discount for a second copy? Thx
  6. I was wondering if there was a way to install GTN650 plugin on two computers. This would be under the Single User, fair use best practices, not in attempt for multiple people to use the single license plug-in. Many companies state the license is good for "one computer" but in reality allow it to be installed on multiple machines if it is only used by a single user. Especially with the changes in work locations the last year, I'm staying in a couple of different locations for extended periods of time. "Moving" the software when there is really only one users does not make much sense.
  7. Resurrecting an old topic that every so often I revisit. I search every so often to see if there's a fix, but so far I haven't seen one. I really wish there was a way to show and active GTN mounted in the panel vs the GTN Trainer over the X-Plane window. I've looked at some other planes, but so far nothing seems to work. Some planes have the GTN installed, but no Mooneys or what I'm using now that as the Aspen is an Arrow. I see the blank shell of the GTN installed in the panel. Is there really no way to overlay the GTN Trainer and "PIN" it to that space in the panel? Then as you pan or tilt, the GTN would move with the panel. I get that the aspect ratio will be off and change as the angles change. But it still would be SO much better than having the floating trainer or moving the trainer off to another screen.
  8. Yes, read that.... But it's still floating "pop-out" display. Nothing seems to get it to go into the panel. Plane is a vFlyteAir Piper Arrow III. I've reached out to them too, but no response. Any thoughts? I'm reasonably sure I followed the manual, but if you have more specifics or a list of the usual "gotchas" that people fall prey to, please let me know. Thx
  9. I found multiple threads that refer to the "floating" GTN, but nothing I've found so far actually tells me if the GTN can be locked in the panel or if it is always going to float. There is a no-display GTN that appears in the panel and in the manual there is a reference to Freeze Window. But there's no other reference or instructions. So am I correct that the way the GTN650 works is as the floating Garmin Sim panel? For a lot of what I'm probably not going to be moving the panel that much, so I can live with just placing the floating sim over the "placeholder" in the panel. But it sure would be nice to lock the sim to the panel for those times I do want to pan or tilt. Thx.
