  1. Hi Guys After a long session with TDS Support today,....we have a FIX! That I'd like to share... Essentially, it was a registry item that was not deleted causing the problem. The fix was to delete every Garmin, GTN, RXP, Avionics entries in the registry! .....There are a lot! I thought that this might have been the case, and had tried to purge the system registry but TDS Support delved deeper into the registry than I dared! They mentioned that this failure had been reported many times before!! Despite using Windows uninstaller and another TPP uninstaller that searched and deleted remnant bits of the registry, there were still entries that "STOPPED" the installation each time running the installer. Continued to search and found more...and deleted... eventually must have deleted the offending registry entry (don't know which one)... then the Manual DB install completed successfully! Hurray! Now, everything works again and is updated to latest Navigraph... GFP files load = Happy Simmer now. The TDS product IS better from what I have seen so far! TDS Support = 5* - responded quickly, knowledgably and efficiently. Many thank TDS.. Conclusion - beware Garmin/RXP registry entries, don't trust that your application has been cleanly uninstalled! Hope it helps Nik
  2. Hi So, moved to P2ATC v3 and updated to current update... I love this application! So looking forward to v3 which initially appears potentially better ... still exploring. But, may I offer some layout user feedback... a. I use 15", 24" and 32" screens - the layout does not scale with the different screen sizes... example SAVE and CLOSE is half obscured...another example - Flight Plan Import window does not scale to show the last listed completely i.e. is half obscured by the white sub window line. This seems to be a general display issue for many of the pop outs and settings. This should be an easy fix... b. Similar, the button icon script is not scaled with the size of the button in many pop outs. Lists of frequencies could look better left justified?? sorry personal opinion... c. Dare I say.. the brushed black background ..nah! Maybe I've become used and accustomed to the V2 layout ..... I personally prefer the CLEAN button layout of v2. is easier to navigate and read eg......'coloured boxes' - Callsign, QNH, Squawk, etc white text doesn't stand out clearly, v2 layout better. d. Upper RIGHT boxes has a scroll white column to the far right .. boxes blank a the moment can't see what this is for at the moment. e. The info boxes and Co-Pilot Requests and panels to right, above the Map and Flight plan screen real estate could be better arranged to give more Map & Flg Pln real estate. IMHO d. Any reason why the app takes so much time to load? Obviously its larger but it does take time... compared with v2. Otherwise looking forward to getting to grips with this version. Thanks for all your efforts. Happy new year! Nik
  3. Thanks Bob, I've come to that "reality" ... ahem! The upgrade path is super poor, the Garmin software is deeply embedded and I've spent too much time deleting all remnants in the system. The 'Uninstall' fails to ensure a clean removal...hence any attempt to reinstall keep failing with these error codes. I will investigate the TDS as I'm sitting in front of my super clean system and really don't want to spend any more unnecessary time. It all started with the Reality GTN suddenly "failed to import" .gfp for no apparent reason... not got the bottom of that issue! Was thinking of the TDS ....so thanks for the nudge! Cheers Nik
  4. Hi Guys ... help needed... Reinstalling X-plane 12 Reality GTN 750 software to sync updates due o having issues with importing Flight Plans. The SYSTEMS are running a home build flight deck for the Airfoillabs King Air 350 with the GTN750, it had all been working for a long time, but during running the updated Garmin Aviation Trainers 6.4.1 installer and the Reality GTN750 Garmin Trainer Setup 3.8.2.0... both installers 'stop' during the Garmin Aviation Trainers Aviation app and Database build - located in 'Programme File (86)\Garmin\Trainers' folder and the database in 'Programme Data\Garmin\Trainers' Folders --- with an ERROR code 0x80070643 and a statement "A newer version of the application already exists". Also, when installing Reality Garmin GTN - it stops with error code 1603. Neither should happen... I had removed all the Garmin software from the system prior to reinstallation. I've cleaned the system of Garmin with different 'Uninstallers' and checked the registry and installation folders. Several revisions later and still... it will not install - same error code. There must be a files somewhere that the installer references before advancing to the installation... but where/what is it? I'm reasonably adept at software and PC systems but somewhat stumped at the moment. > Can anyone advise why this is happening and a fix? - log files don't give much info....hummm. Tried Garmin Trainer Setup 3.6.4.0 and GTN Setup.msi both same result. > Originally running Garmin GTN Trainers version 6.62.1 but wanted to update to 6.73.0 however, cannot find this latest version to download? Anybody knows where this can be downloaded? 5. Hi Been using P2ATC for some time and works with the Reality GTN750 installed in the AFL King Air 350 aircraft. Updated to Pilot2ATC version 3 this week and working through the implementation... However, when using the RealityGTN750 in the sim to import a flight plan it ..."Fails to import!". The set up is per manual with the correct folder C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN that show the list of .gfp flight plans saved from Pilot2ATC and Simbrief, validated correctly and also a copy of the sample .GFP file from the \GtnTrainer\flightplan.zip. Interestingly the sample .gfp file does open in the GTN750, but none of the other .gfp files will load - showing the error "Import Failure". I have used the sim in NON-Admin mode as per some recommendations on the web - no change. I've uninstalled and re installed the Reality software - no change. I did have one instance that did load! but that showed errors " No standard Airways" and the other "incorrect waypoints". I am wondering if there is a problem with the databases as the Reality GTN is the original version unchanged and of course P2ATC and Simbrief use UpToDate air packs from Navigraph. I'm at a loss why the Sim Reality GTN750 isn't loading .GFP files... it a mystery! I have read widely on the web forums about this Issue... I fear I'm not alone.. but cannot seen a resolution as yet....Can you advise? Truly frustrated! 😞 your help would be truly appreciated... Thanks in anticipation Nik Systems info My Sim is a home build Flight deck for the AFL King Air 350 with Master last gen i7 with GTX1070, 32GB mem - External View Intel i5 with Rx6700XT, 32GB Mem running three 32" screens all on XP12 12.4.1 with Air Manager 5.0, Piot2ATC, etc etc.
