  1. I wouldn't write Wing42 completely off. I think this dev is pretty much a one man show and I assume after big releases he just vanishes into vaccation/ burn-out/ whatever. I already bought the Vega for FSX from him, which was a pretty cool plane btw and there he also vanished for ~1 year or so and then resurfaced and continued development. Still a strange way to conduct business. Cheers!
  2. Personally I really like to use Plan G. Their version 4 is compatible with MSFS and I really like it for VOR planning. You can do fun stuff like cross bearings and so on. You'd also get the flight path vs terrain chart that you mentioned in the beginning. Maps are based on OSM, think you can also choose different display modes somewhere Cheers
  3. Hey, got the Boeing 247 yesterday. On the one hand it's a great experience, but I also have some issues. Hope some of you could give me some hints: - I completely failed to start the engines. Read the manual, watched a youtube video, still every time I press "mesh flyweel" the build up inertia disappears, engine coughs once and thats it. Any guesses what I might be missing? And in case someone wonders Ctrl+E works 😛 -Are there any checklists, in our out of the sim? I know they werent really a thing in the 30s but would be helpfull. -I find the clickspot for the clipboard pretty awkward, doesnt re-/disappear half the time when I want it to. Cheers
  4. Thanks a lot @Chock I was rather hoping you might see this. Always amazing how much you know about this stuff! :) I did know about the Tiger Moth for training, but not about all the rest. Sounds like a fairly well designed system to me.
  5. Overall a much improved model, well done FlyingIron! :) What I always wonder: with a behaviour like this on take off and landing - and I dont doubt it is rather well modelled - didn't they trash their planes by the dozen during training flights? But then even the greenest recruite has probably a deeper understanding of such planes than I do... Cheers!
  6. Thanks! 🙂 Was a bit to quick there
  7. Hey all 🙂 Could you point me to the mod for lifts/cable cars discussed earlier in this thread? Thanks!
  8. Hey 🙂 Has anyone seen a changelog yet for the newest version? I got the download link but could not find it anywhere. Cheers!
  9. I'd assume there will be no wx radar upon release, I think the SDK doesn't support this yet. 😞
  10. Hey, just saw this https://fselite.net/news/nextgen-simulations-previews-emb-110-for-msfs/ on FsElite. According to the article this EMB 110 is scheduled to release between March 26th and 28th so pretty soon. 🙂 Does anyone know details about this upcoming plane e.g. system depth, etc.? The previews look nice-ish I think. What reputation does Next Gen Sim have as a developer? Cheers Sailor
  11. Thanks a lot for pointing this out! I have a G915 keyboard and when I run the latest version of G-Hub I can select the keyboard and then a profile (default is Desktop) and here I can choose Microsoft Flight Simulator. When I then go to the section for defining shortcuts on the 5 extra keys this keyboard has I can choose from basically all MSFS inputs to bind them to one of the extra keys for shortcuts. Same thing with the extra buttons on my Logitech mouse. Didn't do it yet, but am sure it will come in handy. Cheers!
  12. Another mail adress did the trick. Thanks guys! I mighht give Little Navmap a try at some point, but I really like the functionality of Plan-G. And the v4 Alpha runs well for what I do - flightplanning no direct connection to the sim. Cheers!
  13. As I initially stated, my problem is I have no account for that forum and cannot create one, as I never receive the verification mail to unlock the login.
  14. Hey guys, my appologies in advance if this should go to another subforum. I would like to download the Plan-G v4 Alpha that should be compatible with Msfs and is available via their forum, but I just dont manage to create an acoount there. You should receive a verification email, but on several tries I never get one - yes also looking in my Spam folder. As i can find no other means of communication with TA Software, I thought I'd try it here. Can anyone point me to a way I can get Plan-G? Or can you recommend a good alternative? I mainly use it for radio-navigation and really like the functionality of VOR radius and bearing lines to various beacons and so on. Many thanks! :-D
  15. Good morning everyone! Although I find @boez detailed explanation really nice, it left me a bit confused. At the moment I have vsync off inside MSFS and limit fps to 60 via Nvidia control panel. This does give me the 60 fps on my mid-range setup (1660 Ti and a few-years-old i5) in normal conditions and still flyable fps in demanding areas, like NYC. If I got the gist of your discussion right, I don't need to change anything now, do I? I will admit I had to google just now what screen tearing is, so obviously I didn't experience it until now. 😛 Thanks a lot! Cheers, Sailor
