  1. I’ve been having a blast with the aerolite 103. I’ve wanted one forever and finally found one I could afford. Just speaking for myself. I think it was worth the price and I’ve found it to be a great way to really enjoy this scenery we now have.
  2. Thanks for the response and especially for the great work on this plane. You’ve made it my favorite. I will be watching for the update.
  3. Hey everyone. I have downloaded Robert Young’s mod for the G36 bonanza from nexus. When I open the sim, all of the liveries are showing but when I select one and begin, it loads up the default. I had trouble downloading and finally downloaded the file to my desktop, extracted, and then manually placed in the Msfs 2020 community file. Anyone have any ideas or could steer me toward a good tutorial. Thanks.
  4. Haha. That’s funny. Tom was exactly right. I went into fsx to fly my helicopters and what he was saying is correct. The few details there, are so pronounced that it makes VFR flying too simple. I never thought about it but that’s exactly why I’m having more trouble visually flying. so basically I just have to become more familiar with VFR flying in a much more realistic sim
  5. Tom. I think you may have hit the nail on the head. I didn’t really consider it but upon reflection I bet I was/am relying too much on the few details in fsx that really stuck out because of the lack of complexity. Like that airport that’s visible from way too far away in fsx. This makes me feel better about the new scenery. I know I used to go flying with a friend and he would always ask me to pick out airports we were approaching. I was terrible at it. I think I may have jumped to a conclusion without giving it enough thought. Don’t get me wrong. I immediately recognized our new scenery was awesome, but I didn’t have the “cheats” that were available. Mystery solved. thanks for the help/advice. This is much more of a simulator than game. Which is great.
  6. Thanks for the response. I really love msfs2020 scenery but I find it a little hard to VFR fly. I can do better with fsx and mega scenery. I’m sure I will get blasted for that statement because 2020 is unbelievable but some of it doesn’t look right somehow. I would like to buy a couple cities and try them (if they are out there right now)
  7. Virginia. But the question is really general in nature. I’ve seen some YouTube’s where the folks were commenting on what appeared to be a mile or two of enhanced scenery around the airfield (or even more). I suppose my question would be better phrased by just asking if that is pretty standard or no.
  8. I have heard that sometimes the purchase of an airport will include some enhanced surrounding scenery. I’ve never purchased additional scenery but was wondering about this. Understanding that vendors are all different, I was wondering if it was common for surrounding terrain features or buildings etc..., to be of an enhanced quality as well? Specifically, I am considering Norfolk as my first Payware scenery add on. Does anyone know if Norfolk is modeled as well or is it just the airport itself? i know it’s a big Newbie question. I’ve flown MSFS since the first one came out. Wow, it’s come a long ways. Never have I added scenery but 2020 has changed a bunch. This sim is really exciting.
  9. I should probably have waited for “maturity” but I couldn’t force myself to do it. I love the VFR scenery but it makes me miss my helicopters bad. I fly the smaller planes but not for long. Just can’t get beyond my rotor-head roots. that being said. It’s on me. I knew they weren’t there when I purchased. I really like the scenery but wonder if it wouldn’t be a little better to back off the auto gen stuff a little and let the satellite rendering do more of the work. It was actually a little easier for me to fly VFR in fsx with Mega scenery earth. Even though I know that some of the auto generated scenery is incorrect, it looks so real that it makes up for it. At the end of the day, I’m glad I got it when I did. It’s flaming awesome. Looks like I may get my heli next summer.
  10. I just wish they would give us an idea of when helis will be coming out. I agree that it will be worth the wait when it gets here (if they’re using the time to do it right). I purchased the sim knowing there were no copters and that I would quickly become bored with the fixed wings, and I was right. They hit a homerun with this scenery. I have explained to my wife that a properly executed model of any helicopter in fs2020 is going to result in a lot of free time for her! Right now Microsoft is loosing potential profit. I think there are more of us rotor heads out there than they think.
  11. I appreciate that. I remember it asking me about an assigned device. I have to go back and figure out how to do that. I thought it would default to my pc. It will definitely be out by the time I’m sorted.
  12. I have been reading where people have preordered 2020 and it downloaded but will not launch until a designated time. I went to Microsoft’s website and preordered for pc but it didn’t download anything. It only said that I had successfully preordered. Will I have to go back and download at a specific time or did I somehow miss a step. Seems like a lot of folks will be trying to download around the same time. Understanding that this question is probably stupid to a lot of folks, I appreciate the response. I’m from the pre-computer generation and I’m trying my best. Thanks
