  1. @Dutch1 Sorry, just noticed your question now for some reason. The first cold and dark is in the star airport in Alaska (only one) but the rest of the tutorials are at Toronto Pearson Intl. Airport CYYZ
  2. Yeah, seems like a bit of a quick X-Plane port which is kind of a cash grab to be first to market. Hoping this gets fixed. The flaps and blurry textures would be a deal breaker for me.
  3. A huge issue with the Kitfox in my opinion. Well, two really but one might be a deal-breaker. First, the flaps aren't modeled on the aircraft. They are on the flight model, but not the visual of the plane. For a bush plane that's a big deal as you would look over for visual confirmation while flying all the time. The other glaring issue IMO is that it makes all your scenery look horrible out the glass. Go to an outside view or another plane and its sharp as a tack, but inside the scenery looks all muted and low res. Example here in this review:
  4. Sorry guys, was hoping this would help more people. A few have mentioned that when using this technique they notice an increase in fps from around 20 to 50 when disabling VSync. Not so much a CTD fix but worth a look if you have vsync enabled.
  5. @hyperfocal didn't take it in a negative tone or critical at all, no worries. I try to read everyone's post with a positive tone or you end up thinking everyone is picking a fight. I wasn't sure when I made the video if people would appreciate a full checklist or not. I sort of kept it to only the items that were sim related thinking that all of the things the sim doesn't implement were not worth mentioning. Since the sim doesn't do any real damage on a hot start I didn't think people would be interested in the Maxima's. I seem to have misjudged this as everyone seems to be diving into the details. I may include more of them in future videos. Glad you enjoyed.
  6. Just to be clear, the key is to make sure that the limit is not your main thread (CPU limited), not to just turn off Traffic. I'm not sure if I made this clear enough in the video. Some have found that turning V-Sync off has removed the mainthread limitation and stopped the CTD's. This is just a way to see when you are not CPU limited anymore. I think some are thinking the solution is to stop using Traffic. This is more a solution to find your solution which may be unique.
  7. @hyperfocal yes you are correct, essentially there are a number of maxima's you need to consider. off the top, You should reach 13% ng and then low idle which should reach 52ish % ng within 30 seconds (or abort start) while maintaining <850C inter-turbine temp. I don't use the built in timer as I need to justify my fancy watches to the wife 🙂 I can't remember the times without refering to the PIM, but you have to wait increasingly longer after each abort start to re-start... its like 1/5/10/30 or something like that.
  8. Really hope this can resolve at least a few of your guys issues. I couldn’t log a single flight since it started and have lost close to 20 hours from Crashing to Desktop in flight or when trying to exit to the menu. FlightSimulator.exe had Exception code 0xc0000005 in Event Viewer as many have posted. This is how I fixed it:
  9. Thanks @jaydor, very kind of you. Have read all of the suggestions and appreciate the comments. @Elvensmith See this video at the 9:58 mark and thats where you put your ILS frequency
  10. I also have a series for learning Navigraph and Charting tutorials (for any charting or enroute maps) for those interested. What is Navigraph and Why Should you Use it? I try to answer those questions and more in the beginning of a small series of videos where I will help you understand and use both Navigraph, its charts and plates and understand these procedures to help you to enjoy Navigraph and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 This Video is a part of a full Series. 13. Personally I'm waiting for the new HP unit, but I'll be getting a 30X0 card first. That being said, I think there will always be a place in my simming for both. Not sure if controlling study level aircraft in DCS or FS 2020 when they come will be as easy in VR as it is with cockpit setups. I imagine if I'm doing more complex instrument management I'd want 2D trackIR and if I just want to have some fun VR is where it's at. Just my 2 cents.
  14. I know it's a pipe dream, but imagine if DCS could switch from continuing to develop their (small) world and use something like FS 2020 as the base and provide a DCS pack that would include the weapon systems and mission building etc... so they could focus on this and study level aircraft. I realize it won't happen. I'm also heavily invested in DCS and love it, but man would I ever like to have the scenery and world options in FS 2020 with my DCS planes.
