I got a 4K monitor made by Benq (EW3270U), I tried to activate the HDR through the monitor, Windows 11 and MSFS 20, but it was a no go for me because I got some good results just with MSFS20, but it was terrible with videos, photos and general use of the pc because the washed colors. So I decided to not use the HDR anymore.

Basically I enable it in Windows when using MSFS2020 or other HDR games  (if I remember)  and disable it when not gaming.   I also disable it when making videos of MSFS2020 .

It only takes a mouse click to enable/disable it in Windows.

I’ve solved this issue finally after countless wasted hours. There is a marketplace activity called Adventum Tours Hawaii that renames the default Caravan so that it no longer appears as a Caravan and can no longer be searched that way either. Instead it turns the Caravan into Aventum. I actually thought this was an obscure plane - never occurred to me that this was the source.

Biggest question I have: my typical mission for doing GA is loading the sim at the runway (usually SACO), take off, level off and fly to a nearby town (or just explore the surroundings) and then land and taxi to the hangar. No autopilot at all, just trimming (and keeping speeds, MP, RPM and EGT by the book). If I'm the mood, I'll do the flight back. No walkarounds, no maintenance, just checking if I have enough fuel for the trip back. Is this plane worth all that for my type of flying?

I regularly fly it from the runway just for a  quick circuit or day trip without making use of the walk around and failures and other in depth features. It is seriously immersive and lots of little features and sounds you barely notice add up to it feeling way more "realistic" in ways that are hard to define.

There's a saying in the warbird world with regard to stick n rudder skills: a Mustang makes a great trainer for a T-6, which makes a great trainer for a Stearman.  😁

Yes, the often misquoted statement that the "Spitfire was easy to fly"  is only true in the sense that compared to things that killed you if you were not paying attention like the Gloster Gladiator or something like an I-16 it was benign, that does not mean it is a 172,

Did you personally speak to all the people who said they "cannot afford it" to uncover this or is it just supposition?
Don't forget, there are a multitude of flight simmers from around the World who live in countries where US$50 represents a significant upfront outlay for a bit of entertainment. The official MSFS forums recently had a couple of posts from simmers in Argentina and Turkey who have seen their currency drop like a proverbial rock this past year.

For those of us where $50 isn't bank-breaking territory, an A2A aircraft represents great value if you like bug smashing flying.

Be careful not to do this too often. Your credit rating will take a hit if you are using credit to offset relatively small payments.
Financial institutions will be querying why you are choosing not to make a £40 payment all in one go.

There are plenty of people who genuinely cannot afford the higher priced addons and need to assess the opportunity cost or need to justify it with a use case, for example to "mum" whose credit cards is being used. nagging mum for a batch of microtransactions or cheap DLC over a period of time is definitely more likely to be successful than trying to get an addon worth almost as much as the game that was a XMAS present,

We are not talking about those simmers. I was merely commenting on people who, from their own comments, seem to own multiple cheaper addons, but on sort of principle, refuse to buy addons up around the price of the original game.

In the real world, the argument "I simply do not have finances to afford a Porsche and cannot justify it" is perfectly valid but saying "I could add half a dozen Lada to my car collection for the price of that one Ferrari, hence it is overpriced" is just plain silly.

850 mode? It must be quite obvious that I haven’t read the POH as yet, so is there a forward position on the flaps lever?

You engage the 850 HP/120% torque mode by moving the flap lever forward after flaps are retracted.

The 850 position has nothing to do with flaps and I assume they did that to physically lock out engaging it with flaps extended.

Note that 850 mode is not permitted during takeoff and landing.

  5. At the time of release there were no Fenix, no PMDG, it was pretty much the only choice other than default for airliners.

Overall it was pretty OK for the time, not study level but not super basic like Carenado either, and it filled a gap.

Since then things have moved ahead at quite a pace and the CRJ has not really kept up.

The one to get is probably the 550/700 as most real world CRJ are the smaller ones.  The 900 series came afoul of the crazy US airline scope clause which limits regional jets to 76 seats.
