  1. @mSSparks> Correct as to the Log.txt file. But how do I add the missing files and why are they missing? Xplane tries to restore those files via the Installer but when I go back to Dubai the same files continue to be missing. My concern is that when I installed the OMDB airport something went wrong because the instructions are not clear and I am looking for clear instructions to avoid this issue from perpetuating itself every time I try to fly out of Dubai.. For now, I can reinstall Xplane and at least place the sim back to its required state and wait to install OMDB until I find complete instructions or understand the steps... This is the only scenery that is giving me all these issues. .
  2. Ok, thank you GoranM. I did find that file and typed exactly what the developer suggests, plus added three folders to the scenery folder (from the developer's .zip file) but I continue to get a message saying that some files are missing from the Dubai airport and this is where I am now stuck 😞
  3. Greetings! I am struggling with the steps required to install Taimodels' OMDB in X-plane 12. I can't find the .ini scenery file for example and I am not sure what the correct steps to complete the installation are. Lol... Can someone please assist? Thank you in advance!
  4. I have not flown this Seneca V model in months due to the original ugly issues with the ILS. That seems to be working now after a few MSFS updates. I cannot get the weather radar to work: the radar is on but does not show anything even if I am flying in bad weather. I can't remember if Asobo is still working on implementing the weather radar functionality... was this fixed by Asobo? thanks.
  5. Thank you Ray. I run all my sims in 1440p, but thank you for the caveat! I have all the info I needed, you guys are great 👍
  6. Hi Tsakiris, thank you for your input, including the caveat re the FSW's custom FMC! I looked at both FSW's LJ35 and XPs' LJ25 in detail over the week-end and I it appears that the XPs' newer L25 model (Version 3) was updated to fix Prepar3D v5 - Hotfix 1 and Hotfix 2, while I am running v5.3. I asked them for clarifications and am waiting to hear back. Do you know if the XPs' LJ25 is fully compatible with with P3d v5.3?
  7. Thank you both! @ Ray Proudfoot: In the early hours of the morning, 'Prototypes' turned into 'Projects' - lol. Thanks for the additional information on the freeware radar gauge from Roland. This is an awesome forum!
  8. Greetings, I am undecided between the L35 by FSW and the same Learjet 35 by Xtreme Projects. I like the FMS Expansion Pack in the FSW's model (no need to purchase a separate GTN and you get a nice FMS) but the VC's graphics in the Xtreme Projects' model look more polished and modern. For those who have knowledge of both, which one is the better choice, aside from the FMS and the graphics? I am running P3d v5.3, in case this makes a difference (FYI. . .I am aware that in P3d v5.3 the radar does not work, I believe, in either model, courtesy of Lockheed Martin and its EA). Thanks guys.
  9. Hi Blaunarwal, thank you for the additional tip. Does Lorby Scenery Manager reorder and synchronize the products, or does ORBX Central do that (or both)?
  10. Gary, thank you. I will give it a try and come back if I am still stuck.
  11. Recently, I downloaded the ORBX NA Northern and Southern CA products and noticed large patches of black terrain with with orange lines going across in some areas, particularly around LA. I use P3D v5.3. I tried getting assistance in the ORBX forum but the solution given won't work. Did anyone experience this issue and is there a a solution that works? Except for the ORBX LC, Vector and TerraFlora V2, I have no other third-party textures or even scenery/airports loaded in that area. I ended up uninstalling both ORBX NA Southern and Northern CA products because of this issue but am willing to reinstall both if there's a solution. Thanks!
  12. I tried asking Majestic to provide support but all I was told that it is essentially now my problem (they just won't fix it!) to figure out how to get the ownership / modify rights to their '.ini' file that allows their old and not updated control panel to make changes to some of the basic flight controls' configurations (throttle and props detents / tiller operation) and to other items like cold and dark / ready for taxing / ready for take off. I created a copy of that '.ini' file, at their request, within the 'ini' folder, but the new 'ini.txt' file created won't take the changes made in that control panel, unlike what Majestic is telling me. My '.ini' file is located within the Program Files folder > Lockheed Martin > Prepar3D v5 > SimObjects > Airplanes > mjc8q400 > doc > ini. When I right-click on the 'ini' folder itself, under Properties > General, I see the Read-only box checked. I tried unchecking, applying and saving, but it reverts back to Read-only. This my PC. Not sure what to do to resolve this issue, hoping it does help (?) with the control panel. I also checked the ownership / modify rights to the Program Files folder itself and I see the same issue, where - Under Security - I do not seem to have full control, Write, or Modify rights.. . . and am not able to assign it to myself either under "Administrators (DESKTOP - name of my PC \ Administrators)", or under "Users (DESKTOP-name of my PC \ Users)". Also, nowhere does Majestic even bother to place a clear and honest disclaimer of this issue on its website for potential new customers. Shameful. If anyone is familiar with these sorts of issues, I would appreciate any suggestion, thanks.
  13. I was able to extract the .exe installer to my desktop (not sure why it installs only to my desktop but I can retry selecting a different folder on my 'C' drive later) and run it. This was my 'last-gasp' effort. I am now in P3D, on a runway, and can see the world outside the cockpit, for as long as it lasts anyway.... maybe a temporary solution, maybe not. THANKS everyone on this thread for having being patient with me!! I have never had so many issues downloading a software app; there may be something wrong with it. Cheers
  14. In the original install, True Glass was disabled (I saw in some forum that it may create issues, like CTD); good suggestion, but already tried it. I am now stuck on unzipping the file from Milviz and getting to the .exe installer (I removed the aircraft altogether and am trying to reinstall)
  15. I was only able to right-click on the .zip itself and check under Security (no notice on 'blocked'). None of the components in the .zip file apparently installs as an individual item, so I cannot find that .exe installer when I run a search on my 'C' drive. Acknowledging the error message clears the message but adds only the .zip file as a whole to my 'C' drive. And if I right-click on the .zip file found on my 'C' drive, I go back to the error message that I have just cleared and I am a loop.... EDITED > Wait. I looked in the 'General' tab. . . it shows the .zip as Read Only, then I select Unblock and the Apply, then I see a window that says "Error Applying Attributes - an assertion failure has occurred".
