  1. ... actually, nevermind, I was wrong, there are files attached. I was confused a sort order issue in the Logbook view, due to two apparently incomplete flights from the same airport earlier in the day or yesterday. Anyway, it's all working well - thanks much for your help - and of course, THANK YOU so much for your incredible tool, @albar965!!!!
  2. Any possibility that gliders using winch launch (either via Kinetic Assistant or built-in winching like the Discus) could be throwing things off? I’m sitting with a perfectly good track in LNM right now from a 3 hour flight yesterday and I don’t want to lose it. LNM was on the whole time, and I landed fine, though MSFS CTD’d about 5 minutes later. Still no files listed as “attached” to the most recent logbook entry.
  3. Almost certainly answered somewhere, but I haven’t found it. Sometimes my logbook entries have “attachments” that include a GPX file, other tunes they don’t. I was trying to figure out the rhyme or reason there and found a mention of “flights must be finished for the track to be saved” … but what does “finished” actually mean? It doesn’t seem to be just landing … Thanks in advance for any help here …
  4. Agreed, sharing issues politely works great, and helps the developers understand what else needs fixing. Threads with obvious clickbait titles and laden with bizarre Xbox conspiracy theories aren't really that, though, right?
  5. Well, at least this thread's title clearly indicates what the content will be - though, as is typical, it's often stated in the most obnoxious and wrong-headed way possible. Asobo has made a big leap forward in what they can do in terms of optimizations, but as they've said many times before, that sort of work will span many updates. I'm sure they'll give options or otherwise get back to enabling the supposed "perfect world" we were in pre-SU5 for those with heavy-duty hardware, but for the majority of folks I think this new default mode works wonderfully. The whole anti-console bit is getting super old, however. Optimizations made to enable XBox also make the PC experience better for many, many PC users. Stop with the snobbery word not allowed.
  6. Sorry, maybe it's a VAT thing, but by my reckoning OA is about 35 Euros/year (unless you pay by the month, then it's of course more). It's even cheaper if you jump in for two years, which I've now done. I'm not a 100%-OA-can-do-no-wrong-word not allowed or anything, but I have enjoyed it, and the team seems to really be firing on all cylinders now rolling out new features, following a well-articulated roadmap that lays out many months of planned development work, so I've been able to mostly talk myself out of feeling more than just a little irritated that it's subscription. Stuff specifically for bush pilots and routes supposedly coming in the next month or so, IIRC, which I'm particularly excited about. Overall, good stuff, IMHO.
  7. I skimmed the very pretty site for the texture pack, but maybe I missed it … are there any clear before-and-after comparisons anywhere in there? I mean, for example, yeah, those rainy runway shots look awesome … as do pretty much all MSFS rainy runway shots. It’s the same way I feel when the terrain mesh products are listed. Seems like a fair ask, no?
  8. Forgive me if this is a newbie question, but I'm trying to get X-Plane setup and working well with P2A (already got everything going with MSFS 2020). My main annoyance at the moment is I can't get ATIS to go over the same headset that P2A is assigned to - I don't see an option in X-Plane to route radio traffic to a different sound interface, and even when I check the option to have P2A handle ATIS, it still comes out of the main system speakers (along with engine noise). Am I missing something on either the X-Plane or P2A configuration fronts, or am I asking the impossible here?
  9. My $0.02 - I won’t buy into the TDS product line until there is full cockpit integration, including full VR support. Everybody has their own pet peeves for what are “immersion killers” for them and, well, for me, big-a$$ed pop-out windows are worse than many other problems I can think of. Personal opinion. I’ll stick with the PMS50 products until things change on that front.
  10. As I said to CS in several (admittedly not very constructive, and very short-lived) posts: shame on you, screw your brand, and I’d donate some $ to see your a$$ handed to you in court. Their “apology” is very, very weak. As of two hours ago on their forum, they are still pointing people to an agreement, which still says anyone using their paint kit to make repaints (or any other mod that is “related”) is fully giving up ownership and control of their effort. Interestingly, the version date is 5/17, so this is basically unchanged from a week ago, though I recall a 9th bullet at some point ... so I think there was a change and they are pretending it’s always been that way: https://captainsim.net/products/m777/sops/rk/ Anyway, what makes things simple for me is that none of their products are in any way attractive for what I like to do, so as grudges go, holding this one basically costs me nothing, and maybe makes the world just a itty-bitty teensy bit better ...
  11. Ugh. Well, I started piling onto the exact thread in their forums where they were saying this was all “good news” ... feel free to join if you want to vent: https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1621690095/0#11 I don’t imagine it will do much good, but hey, it’s possible the one remaining dude isn’t even really plugged into the right forums and doesn’t know it’s going down on a lead balloon ...
  12. They are using the PMDG news of what they have accomplished, plus the accomplishments implied by that large list of other products, as a stand-in for their own SDK experience, because they’re either not a developer, or haven’t used this SDK. And you know it. Perfectly valid approach for people who don’t use the SDK themselves for triangulating whether some 3PD complaints are valid or not.
  13. I’ve often found myself wondering why AVSim can be as toxic as it is sometimes, specifically trying to imagine what the leadership folks for the site think they’d like to see for a culture. I think I might now have a small hint of an explanation. If this thread is any indication, apparently the admins and board - or at least some representatives from those - are fine with derailing threads to make their opinions (repeatedly) heard, to the extent of shutting down what the thread was initiated for. It’s also apparently acceptable to be rude, and mix in copious amounts of gaslighting and exaggeration, just to round things out. It’s almost like the goal is to take a dump on the whole conversation and shut it down, rather than provide a viewpoint for a healthy discussion - by potentially using one’s leadership position to make things, I don’t know, how about better instead of worse? Please knock it off. This is 100% incredible news for MSFS and PMDG lovers. Period. They will have challenges, but they seem plenty able to handle it.
  14. Next (and potentially very expensive) question for @tiberiu11: any chance this works well or at all with the RealSimGear GTN750 setup yet? (I.e. https://realsimgear.com/collections/avionics-components/products/realsimgear-gtn750-bezel-for-x-plane-and-p3d)
  15. Man, this tries my patience. Can we have just one thread here that talks about how useful/enjoyable/awesome the PMS50 GTN750 (or their GNS530/430) mod is, WITHOUT it devolving into another RXP rah-rah echo chamber? Yes, RXP makes great products - but those products are currently not available on MSFS. That’s the real “yawn” to me. The PMS50 units currently do most of the things I need, and currently the whole thing is both a) actually available, and b) free.
