Hmmm what is 'Flow from //42'? If it can help alleviate bottlenecks then it may be a workaround....

I have noticed that for several months now, I can use the sim during the day (9am to 3pm MST) reliably, with excellent load times, weather, quick snapping scenery etc. However, in the evening (Americas), it slows to a crawl. For instance my experience tonight was a quick load of the app, but when I went to world view, no weather populated at all - just a blue green shiny. I knew instantly (9:00pm Saturday evening atm) that the sim was unusable. What happens is that, well since weather won't load, I know that the 'go to cockpit' move will yield a paaaainfullllly slow load, that will eventually pop up 'internet data too slow, turn photogrammetry off? (yes/ignore). If you choose ignore, it takes you to the cockpit, but regardless of your photogrammetry choice, the world remains an extremely low res bowl of porridge. I have posted this problem on Zendesk support forum, have received replies that include turning off and on ONLINE FUNCTIONALITY in settings. Works for about 10% of the time and that was back in 2021. It no longer has any effect. Note that over the past few months, Every time this happens, I fire up speedtest.net and consistently get 250-300 Mbps, with 41 ms ping. Pretty snappy internet on this end. Associated behaviours include button-overs lag by 1.5 seconds, and often the mouse target box is 50 or so pixels ABOVE the tip of the pointer arrow. This is not a bitching post. Nor a bug report. Nor really a 'what do YOU do to fix this' thread. I am seeking any others who have experienced this to weigh in. I have a working thesis that involves server overload from Microsoft servers during peak hours. Basically a streaming bottleneck at the source. Victim of it's own success.

Fantastic folks! Got it sorted. (turned out I had a filter set that was hiding the 'spoiler axis'. Found it, and it set itself to the throttle axis no problem. Got release and water ballast working as well! Woo hoo - now to explore gliders!!

One more question...are there notes that accompany these updates? It brags about 9 Bespoke airports, 62 POI etc.. I would like to hit all of them - POIs at least appear on the map, but which 9 airports does not. It would be nice to have names for these (and also for all the other updates around the world), so I could visit them to check em out. I looked around in sim, but could not find anything.

Heya. This looks cool. Unfortunately, I am stumped with how to setup my control assignments in the sim so that I can raise/lower speedbrakes with Throttle axis, button presses for tow release, ballast dump etc. None of the bindings in the sim seem to work for these (Saitek X52). Discord server does have info on steps to be taken to 'setup for gliders', but this video only seems to talk about how to manage getting the mutual online activity to work, nothing there about basic control bindings. I have not tried this since the fall, so maybe it was a bug that got squashed...or maybe you cant bind these in the sim. Makes gliders unflyable for me as I am a VR only kinda guy. Any suggestions on how to accomplish these essential tasks for glider flight would be most welcome! ADVthanksANCE

I love gliders, but have been turned off by my inability to assign speed brakes to the throttle axis of my X52 HOTAS. I have tried various sliders but I never see any air brake action in the sim. Related problem is assigning tow release, and especially ballast dump somewhere. I only fly VR so keyboard shortcuts don't really do it for me. Hope this is solvable, because I truly want to love gliders in this sim!! Appreciate any guidance or feedback on this, thanks!

Hmmm didn't know one had to do that - I just assumed they were touting the sim update for NZ. Does this imply all the content (including terrain updates) needs to be installed? Marketplace I am guessing, but not sure (don't have sim open RN). Thanks for the tip!

I love New Zealand. Interesting terrain, and since I like to fly with active weather, and am on Mountain Time, my evening sessions often find me in NZ or Papua New Guinea. So I was very pumped when I saw the opening screen tiles for 'Bespoke Airports', POI, Discovery Flights, Landing Challenges (which featured a savage Cub - one of my favourites)....BUT 3 Discovery Flights 4 landing challenges (with the cub as one) 3 Bush Trips Yet, I cannot find these in the Sim. Is there a disconnect here? The only landing challenge for NZ is landing a citation at Queenstown. Where are the other 3? Do they exist? ADVthanksANCE for anyone who can point me to the NZ cub landing challenge!!

...even after I move and resize, and close/open it, which about 8 months ago used to be permanent for each session, now returns to the default straight ahead, narrow, zoomed in 'default' settings in placement, focus and area. Lets get that working again eh? I have had zero luck getting resolutions from Microsoft forum - there forum is so buggy, it often would not let me post (after having done so successfully). Suggestions? Is it just me? Settings fix? ADVthanksANCE for any suggestions. Cheers!

I shot a video, but it's not worth the upload. Description follows: Played one low level challenge, no problems. About two weeks ago. After the update, when I try and start one, as soon as I am immersed in the cockpit, the entire HUD is obscured by what appears to be a Whte SpalshSreen that I remeber seeing normally as part of the challenge launch during my first successful Maverick challenge In VR (I only fly VR), [HP Reverb G2, RTX2070s, Ryzen 5000 32G,] It is pegged to the center of the sweet spot, making flight impossible.

Here is the scenario. I have a mountain spot I want to 'stand on' . Ie I want the drone camera to be placed at a point, so that when I fly away, the camera view retains that point in space. Ideally this is so I can fly an approach with a third party recorder, then go to that spot, in drone view/external camera and replay the flight. Stand there, and watch my plane fly in from distance, make an approach and land - all seen from a fixed point external to the plane. I don't see how to do this. Don't even know if it is possible.
