Figured it out - my headset had a separate volume control - lowered that and problem went away

Hi all, Can't seem to figure this out - when controllers or other pilots talk on vatsim (I'm using Vpilot) - FS2crew hears them and tries to associate a command - my solution is to keep hard muting and unmuting - is there a right way to avoid this? I've already unslected exclusive access, etc in Win10 sound.
