  1. Thanks. I started to think maybe it worked that way after further contemplation. As it happens, I have an actual King 350 POH, which describes the bus layout precisely. Since the Black Square mod is supposedly electrically accurate, I'm hoping that means the proper bus variables stand out to me in the list.
  2. Trying to get the avionics master switch to work for the Black Square king air with my Alpha, using Spad.next . I can get the switch to move up and down by updating "VAR_AVIONICSMASTERSWITCH", but the avionics don't actually power on. Strangely, if I pull the avionics breaker, and push it back in, they come on. Is there some variable or event I'm missing here? Also, I'm trying to get my Saitek multi panel to power on when the battery and avionics switches are on. I have virtual power set up to turn on and off with "VAR_BATTERYMASTERSWITCH" and "VAR_AVIONICSMASTERSWITCH". The switches cause the virtual power icon in spad.next toswitch, but the panel doesn't turn on. Also. spad.next says "Aircraft Power: OFF". BUT, if I turn the mode dials, the displays do come on.
  3. Even if I have the windshield ant-ice on well before entering favorable icing conditions, the windshield will ice over. All the other anti-ice systems seem to work. No visible ice, or performance loss. I've tried auto and manual use of the windshield anti-ice system, and despite the enunciator showing it working, the windshield gathers and retains ice. Does this feature work on this aircraft?
  4. Am I crazy? Have I not found it? The most complicated finicky piece of equipment in the sim, and I have to pause my track IR and use the twitchy mouse countrol? Please tell me that there is another way and I'm just blind
  5. I know how to do this the "real" way with metars, atis, ect. I want to know if the SIM has the capability to display, in flight and or in the planning screen the weather at my current, or any other place. METARS Seem to rarely match the SIM weather. So real world meters are useless. Often enough to make it useless, ATIS is wrong too.
  6. Just picked up SPAD.NEX. Seems like a great piece of software. Despite Googling, I can't see, to find a list of simconnect variables/events. There is the list that comes up on spadnex when you create an action, but nothing is described. Does decent documentation exist? EDIT: I found it. New question. I found a list of variables. These seem to be mostly bools of various states. So, for instance, I found the state for auto pilot heading lock. This brings another question. Is there a list of "commands"?
  7. Flying the 152. When I am paused, the DG still moves at a speed and direction appropriate for the bank I'm paused in. Is this a known bug?
  8. Ok, I got fs 2020 running on my laptop. I have to admit, I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it does. I definitely want to build a proper machine, but I'm in less of a hurry now. Laptop specs: I7 processor of some sport (I can't keep track of Intel numbers) GTX 1060 with 3 gigs. 16 gigs system memory. Sim is installed on the mechanical drive. OS on the SSD I play in medium settings. Looks a million times better than FSX. Runs better too. The denser cities are problematic, but I stay way from them. Up shot is, I still want to build a machine that gets me a consistent 30 or greater fps on ultra settings, but I can wait for hardware to get easier to find.
  9. Wow, great stuff guys!. I keep hearing that there is a parts shortage. Any reason to think I should wait, or do I just need to keep my eyes peeled? Also, back in the day, it was a no brainer cost wise that building a pc was cheaper than buying one. That still the case? I would rather build, but if current unique circumstances suggest a pre-built, I'm not against.
  10. If there is an existing guide here that I haven't found, point me the way. That said... The last pc I built was a 486. Things were so much simpler then. I am clueless on current hardware. I want to play FS2020 at a decent quality level with a frame-rate that is smooth. Want to keep it under $2000. Part of this is to keep me satisfied enough that the urge to get back into the much more expensive real thing is kept in check😀. Things I don't want, but perhaps you can change my mind.... I'd rather avoid water cooling, unless you can convince me it's worth it and/or not the hassle I'm afraid it would be. I would like to avoid overclocking unless its less dicey than it was back in 486 days. If its a risk free no brainer now a days, then I'm good with it. This computer's only job would be the sim. Thanks!
