  1. I have been unable to get into FSX-SE through steam or directly with FSX-SE. It had been working fine since firt installed in win11. Recently its a no go. Some how I show the Beta edition now and not sure how I got that unless out of frustration I clicked on it. Either way the previous version was not starting up. I would get the sunrise start picture but then it would disappear and no program. Multiple attempts. I did see that my fsx-se looked short of items when i checked that. I thought it re-loads on every startup??? If this could be an issue does anyone have and ideas on how to correct it? How would I get rid of the Beta version if that is a problem. Thanks for any info. 2. Thanks for the information I appreciate it. When covid started I hooked up my old dell vista and installed FS9 which I really never had time to use. I hooked it up to a 55 inch LG HD tv. So it is not the sharpest but then that is part of my question in figuring this out. I figure FS9 is not the greatest flt sim and my vista has a soso video card in it the dell was not a gaming machine. So I have been experimenting with FSX and have it on a newer dell gtx750 card and again not really a gaming machine. I have it on a dell monitor 20 inch but not a gaming one. Its a clearer picture I'm guessing better computer and FSX is much better sharper then FS9. So I have a newer laptop from dell with a nvidia card in it and I downloaded steam and have it hdmi to a 65 inch sony tv. The picture is pretty good but I still get running lines moving lines on the aircraft and also the airports do not seem clear until or right on top of them. So sorry for making this long but what is the cause of it. I will try to attach some screen shots but without it being a video you can't see the pixels moving about or that s what I'm calling it but you can see how unclear the airport is yet the cockpit is real sharp. At times I feel the ground and buildings should be better if its running on a 1080P hd tv. Now none of my computers are gaming or high end so this leads to my question. I want to buy a gaming computer and gaming monitor but I really like the larger tv's its such a bigger picture to see it all on and I set up a smaller monitor and unlock the GPS so its much easier to read. Ok so what will make the airport fuzzy or pixels or running lines become clear???? Is it the frame rate is it the video card in the desktop is it the processor is it the video card in the monitor or is it a needed tweak in FSX to get it clear, please chime in and tell me what makes this airport scenery sharper like a 1080 P tv would be playing HD directv???? I see your computer set ups but I want to make one purchase and have it to run FSX and then good enough for MS 2020 when I make the move. Sorry to be so long but If the computer has such a great gaming video card in it then the airport should be crystal clear to me even on a 10 mile final. Could someone send me maybe a screenshot or two of what there monitor looks like on an ILS to a major airport daytime for me to compare. Thanks all again for your info. I appreciate it. Other then the Phillips no one mentioned a brand or model that has all the little things you need for it to work properly, would anyone give a model number of a tv they are thrilled with. I cannot get my screen shots to attach so its a no go but would like to see what a real system looks like. Thanks Again Sterk03
  3. When Covid hit I got out my old FS9 and started to fly with it. I never did much with it back in 2004 when it came out. I installed it on an old Vista Dell and hooked the HDMI cable up to an older LG 55inch HDTV as my monitor. I really like the larger picture but it was not the clearest such as viewing Directv on it but then I had an old dell and simple graphics card and an old software FS9 playing on it. My question is with the FS2020 and a new dell and the video card for flight sim will it be a great picture on a 55 inch HDTV or not. DO I have to use a 24 inch monitor which seems too small for viewing for a great picture??? Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. I would thnik the less then great quality of the picute was so to an old basic video card and the old software of FS9? I have seen setups with 3 monitors in a u shape but to me its simple to plug it into a HDTV jack with one unit but then maybe thats why they build monitors. I'm sure some have a great picture but will it be the same on a TV? Thanks Sterk03
