I am trying to confirm my understanding: For Primary-Manual (single ice detector), it will function in an Advisory mode and flight crew will have to act (anti-ice switch to ON) on EICAS messages due to ice accretion. What if I set the switch to AUTO? For Primary-Automatic (dual ice detectors), the anti-icing function is automatic and based upon flap inhibit, weight off wheel, engine speed (?). Anti-ice switch set to AUTO, If the aircraft does not come with ANY ice detectors, there will be No Advisory and anti-ice is purely manual upon detection of ice? Cheers.
