I’m conducting research for my master’s thesis on how different monetization models already established in the broader gaming world, would be perceived and accepted by users if applied to flight simulators. Since the market has traditionally relied on the pay-once model, I’m exploring how users would react if alternative models were introduced.
I’m focusing on three potential models:
✈ Subscription Model – Recurring payments for continued access and updates.
✈ Free-to-Play with Microtransactions – Free access with optional paid content.
✈ User-Generated Content (UGC) Model – Paying for community-created add-ons and expansions.
For this research, I’m looking for flight sim users willing to share their perspectives in a short interview (approx. 30 min).
