  1. Wasn't aware of MAIW, thank you for bringing it up. I can't find the C-21 livery for MSFS2020 though, it looks like there are older ones for FS9. And the matching problem would still be the same, the type code for C-21 is LJ35, so I need to somehow force it to be picked up over the other LJ models.
  2. So apparently no need to go to live traffic, logs show the planes that are reported by the Real Traffic, as follows: TRICK23* 84-0137 RCH LJ35 =5= AIGAIM_DRF Luftrettung Bombardier Learjet 35 - D-CCCB AAY3102* N204NV AAY A320 =2= FSLTL A320 AAY Allegiant Air AAY3102* N204NV AAY A320 =2= FSLTL A320 AAY Allegiant Air SPAR164* 84-0071 RCH LJ35 =5= AIGAIM_DRF Luftrettung Bombardier Learjet 35 - D-CDRF TRICK18* TRICK18 PVT LJ60 =2= AIGAIM_Fargo Jet Center Learjet 60 - N773SW The TRICK and SPAR callsigns are US Air Force AMC callsigns, the question is: how PSXT chooses to assign the AIG models to them and why it chooses Luftrettung LJ35 livery for RCH airline code and LJ60 model for PVT airline. In aircraft.cfg file for LJ35 model these planes have "icao_airline=AMB" string and LJ60 model file has no airline code at all... I inserted the line "icao_airline=RCH" for the Learjet 35A - N93LE livery, but it does not pick it up for some reason.
  3. Sorry, what do you mean "use model mathching on 2"? Ah, yes, that is a good idea. I only use PSXT for static traffic, so I did not think about using it this way. If I understand correctly, you suggest setting PSXT traffic from "parked" to "live", spawn at KBLV and then monitor logs to see what RealTraffic picks up and passes along to PSXT? One part is missing is that where do I put this info from the logs... Into the AIG model descriptions? There is an AIG civilian LJ35 model that looks almost exactly like C-21, except it has civilian N tail number. Right now PSXT spawns the Luftrettung red liveries which look completely out of place.
  4. I am trying to model match the C-21A (military version of LJ35A) to be correctly placed at Scott Field AFB (KBLV). I finally was able to install AIG models to get LJ35 model(s). However, since there is no airline code for Air Mobility Command (ICAO code RCH, short for REACH) in the AIG files (not for LearJets, there are some for AMC B737s), PSXT seems to randomly assign LearJet models, replacing LJ35 (and its distinct tip tanks) with LJ45 (winglets). When it does assign LJ35A model, most of time time it uses red Deutsche Luftrettung red liveries, which looks completely out of place. I read the manual to try to understand the process which PSXT uses to assign the models and liveries, and then tried to add a line with RCH airline code into one of the AIG LJ35 models so PXST would pick it up correctly from the RealTraffic data, but was not successful. I understand that this is rather unique situation, but any help in figuring out how to fine-tune the AIG models to RealTraffic data would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Thank you very much, it is much better now! During my testing yesterday at KATL, live aircraft (<10) the frame rates were dropping by over 20FPS despite having a top-spec PC. Any optimization advice would be welcome. I do use FSLTL models. I was never able to install AIG ones, the install always hangs and never completes. The reviews stated that FPS gain of AIG models over FSLTL were minimal. And I somehow were getting FPS drops just seeing contrails in the distance. For some reason, I never get such bad FPS hit with VATSIM traffic, which uses the same models. In any case, thank you again for providing one of the most useful realism add-on for the flightsim community!
  6. It appears that the latest version 11.0.2 that introduced drop-down list, no longer allows an option for a zero live planes (setting MAX_LIVE to 0 in parameters.xml does not seem to work). Please restore this functionality, it allowed one to use PSXT only inject realistic parked aircraft using RealTraffic data, without too much FPS hit associated with live traffic injection. As it stands now, setting live planes to current minimum level (10 from dropdown menu), drops FPS to an unacceptably low level.
  7. I am migrating to a new PC and having problem reinstalling PSXT. It refuses to read a valid RealTraffic license number from the RealTraffic.lic file Error 901: No license found in 'RealTraffic.lic'. Problem: [json.exception.parse_error.101] parse error at line 1, column 3: syntax error while parsing object key - unexpected end of input; expected string literal Exiting: SYSTEM ERROR The license number is there and it worked fine before on the old PC. Running PSXT install as an Admin. It seems to fail at the first line, before it has a chance to read the license key. I am using a Notepad to edit the file. Edit: SOLVED! Apparently, when PSXT creates a new version of RealTraffic.lic upon first start, it breaks it into multiple lines, with brackets on each new lines. However, the program expects the license key in one line, like this: {"License":"fill in your license here","Name":"not relevant"} Entering the license key in above format worked.
  8. I understand that going for "100% realism" is not feasible. Nobody expects virtual airline members to bid for next month's schedule based on seniority or wait several years just to get the right seat on a widebody. For most people looking for a virtual airline, "dealbreaker" would be a mandatory checkride just to progress from a regional jet to a narrowbody. 99% want to buy a plane and fly it right away. For me, the checkride would be an attraction. I guess I am 1%er, but I like to take my hobbies seriously, like I do my real job. I would actually prefer a real-world pilot confirm that I am using the aircraft the way it meant to be used. I would like to join a VA that would help me to improve my flying, using real-world training and flying procedures. What is the point of having sim add-ons from Fenix or PMDG that accurately simulate most of the real-world systems, if we not going to learn to simulate the real-world procedures to use those systems? I am aware that both deltava.org and united-virtual.com have checkrides and SOPs, but both are members-only, so it is hard to get a feel how they are implemented prior to joining. All things being equal, I think swavirtual.com would be an ideal fit for me (since they offer VATSIM P4 ATPL rating), but they are 100% Boeing and I want to fly Airbus. TL;DR I am looking for the Airbus equivalent of swavirtual.com
  9. A220 is not that big of a deal, considering that ETA for it is Q4 2025 at the earliest. Quality of forums and chatter is not that important, I am looking for the quality of documentation and procedures, as I will be working toward VATSIM P4 ATPL rating.
  10. I have over 500 hours on VATSIM, with advanced rating, looking to join virtual airline with maximum emphasis on realism. Checkrides, SOPs, real routes, real-life pilots etc. etc. I would like to progress from CRJ to A220 to A320, flying regional and short- to medium-haul US routes based out of East Coast. I am trying to decide between deltava.org , united-virtual.com and vacanada.org. All three has been around for long time, emphasizing SOPs and checkrides. All three use CRJ and A320. Delta has the largest route network, has A220 (which I am interested in) and seems to be most active. United is similar, offers VATSIM hours credit toward seniority and most "realistic" for me, since I fly it as passenger in RL. No A220. Canada Air also has A220 and seems to have the most modern website, but smallest number of routes. It also seems to be more casual (which is a drawback for me). If someone who has experience with either of those airlines, your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Ah, that could have been it. Speaking of GUI, I have tried to install AIG three times and could never succeed. The installer interface is just horrible, extremely confusing and the installer hangs after I download all the liveries, at the "Save AIGFP" stage... I wish there was a way to just download AIG models, without all the associated traffic injector stuff.
  12. Thank you, that worked, after I edited the values in the parameters.xml file. For some reason, changing the values in the GUI did not work. (Probably the issue with admin permissions.) Should I run PSXT as Admin? Thank you for creating and maintaining this wonderful program, really makes a huge difference in immersion!
  13. I am having problem after several recent updates to PSXT. I was using PSXT to inject static planes at the airports for VATSIM flying, so the airports would not appear deserted and parked aircraft would be realistic. It was great! But then there was a recent update that required paid RealTraffic subscription, which now injects more realistic traffic that taxies, lands/departs. etc. I was using FSLTL models (AIG download never worked properly). It has worked OK, but around January there were several PSXT updates, and now injected traffic in the air completely kills my FPS. Spawning at the airport is OK, I can see static aircraft in proper liveries parked around different stands. FPS are fine. However, shortly after the takeoff, I encounter the traffic in the air and FPS drop from 30-40 to 10. I then have to quit PXST and FPS recover. When I land and restart the PSXT, live traffic spawns again and FPS drop again. I just want realistic static aircraft parked at the proper stands when I taxi before takeoff/after landing. I am not interested in live traffic during flight, in fact it would be interfering with VATSIM planes. Is there a way to configure PSXT to alow that? This option was possible before without RealTraffic subscription. I am fine to pay for the subscription if it gets me real-time static traffic, but I am not interested in killing my FPS just to see a few contrails tens of miles away.
