    I don't know if this helps others, but I noticed when saving the mission, it would glitch as the game returned to the screen & a large graphic cube briefly covered the area where the plane was crashed. It only lasted a split second but it was enough to give me a big clue to the rough location. Smoke was found billowing vertically upward from the bottom of the valley. Landed was really difficult. It took several attempts. Good luck.
