  1. OK, this comment was made by one of the developers on the P3Dv4 twitch this evening when discussing FSUIPC. The developer felt that without ACARS systems which depend on FSUIPC, VAs would be dead in the water. This is false. VAs survived long before automated ACARS systems and will survive just well during this transition period. The VA that I run allows manual Flight Reports, always has and it always will. You can have either FSW or P3DV4 today and make a flight report and have your hours logged. It is that simple. Sure the who's flying maps are Gucci, but they are not essential to VA operations. I really wish developers, who should know better, would actually research something before making such ludicrous and unsubstantiated claims. VAs are not dead in the water and I continue to look forward to this and any other 64-bit simulation (BTW my VA also already offers complete support for X-Plane 11...)
  2. Hello. Will LINDA continue to work in the future? As a big fan and user of Linda, I ask myself exactly this question. Against the backdrop of a 64-bit version of the Flight Simulator Prepar3D, which is expected to be released in the future, discussions are constantly taking place that 32-bit programs such as Linda would no longer work with a 64-bit P3D version. Since it would be for me of immense importance to learn how this with LINDA and P3D 64-Bit behaves. Cheers Christian
  3. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. I downloaded the 64-bit version of NHancer and installed the software. A desktop icon is on the desktop. However, when I execute the program (under Admin priv), the banner appears but there is no indication that the program is running and there doesn't appear to be any way to access the user interface. I've downloaded the software 3 times thinking there might be a problem with the downloaded file. Can someone please help.ThanksFrank
  4. Huge news for XP10 64-bit pilots - Xsaitekpanels released a 64-bit plug-in to control many aftermarket hardware controls from SAITEK. Free download. Version 2.08 or higher required for 64-bit operation. According to the author, will operate on Mac/Linux/Windows (Linux requires some extra steps) Those who are using real world ATC (PilotEdge.net) in 64-bits and own the Saitek radio gear will doubtless want to try this to eliminate the incessant mouse clicking on the virtual radio panel in the 777 by Ramzzess (for example) - though it's my understanding this plug is not aircraft-specific. There is also a 32-bit version as well if you are not yet running XP in 64-bits. Enjoy
  5. Greetings, fellow simmers My dilemma is that I have a 2015 iMac, running Parallels Desktop for any software I have that only runs on Windows. The aircraft and sim package creators I really wish to sim with are 32-bit, but my hardware is 64-bit. Clearly I’m not tech-savvy and I’m very new to the flight-simming world. Would really appreciate advice on how to avoid having to buy a new computer - I’ve looked at X-Plane, however the aircraft I really want (best sims, IMHO) presently come requiring 32-bit Direct-X. Flightsimware Mitsubishi MU-2, Eaglesoft Citation X, flightsimlabs A320 would be the ‘most-wanted’, but I have a list of others, too. Thanks in anticipation of your help and or advice.. ManukauL
  6. Hello, I am thinking of getting into this business of building a FSX/Video Editing computer for myself and as a result I am doing some research on which components could be best to get the job done. Okay, my planned budget for the rig is $1,300 dollars and I only plan to have FSX, Sony Vegas, and Microsoft Office as the major programs for my computer. I am not much of a gamer outside of Microsoft Flight Simulator. My mindset for the computer is getting the best bang for the buck in terms of FSX and Sony Vegas performance. My initial research has led me to pick the following hardware components. AMD FX8350 Processor Clocked at 4.0 GHz (TurboCore up to 4.2GHz) AsRock 970 Extreme4 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti with 2GB of Video Memory Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB 240-pin DDR3 1600 RAM Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 60GB SSD (for Windows 8 installation) Seagate 1TB 7200rpm Drive (FSX, Office, and Sony Vegas will go here, may buy additional HDD for Sony Vegas use exclusively if warranted). Windows 8 64bit LG BluRay Drive Corsair HX750 750-Watt Power Supply Before finishing this write-up, I would like to explain why I went with AMD. Part of the reason is economics, I found very little difference between the AMD 8350 processor versus the Core i5K edition to justify the latter's retail price, and given AMD's reputation of being a good over clocker compared to Intel which open the door for expandability (I know that I will need an aftermarket cooler if I decide to over clock). The second reason for my initial AMD decision is that Video Editors like a lot of Cores to do rendering, I find that the AMD 8350 seems to be a good processor for that given its sheer core advantage over Intel's current generation solutions. Given that AMD is under a bad rap recently in the tech world, I would like to ask about the experience that other members of the AVSIM community have had with the AMD FX-Series processors and FSX and if I should expect to run FSX a High Settings (I know Maximum Settings in FSX is next to impossible even in current systems :( ) Also, I wonder if the NVIDIA video card will suffice for FSX? One last thing, I am not ruling out using FS9 on this computer as well given that this particular simulator is still going on strong even 10 years after its general availability. Thanks again for your assistance!
  7. Read more about this here: http://www.flightgea...v2-10-released/ http://wiki.flightge.../Changelog_2.10 Happy flying !
  8. ...should be out "Real Soon Now" as per Ben's post. FYI http://developer.x-plane.com/
  9. Finally I am back home and can check the new artwork that came with the latest X-Plane 64bit beta. I'm not always happy with X-Planes autogen but it does look good at times. Everything but the plane is X-Plane default scenery.
  10. Hello all,I'm a Win 7 64 bit user. I have Ubutu Linux installed on a seperate partition but have not played with it much..So, on to my question..any performance advantages from wiin 7 to linux? Is one quicker than the other?I would like to try XPX on Linux, but to be honest, I don't know anything about linux and have no idea how to go about getting the exe to install :( LOL..If someone could drop a hint on how to get the program to install, I'd appreciate it :( tried the usual win double click but no joy. Thanks
  11. LINDA 3.1.1 provides compatibility with the new Prepar3D v4 (P3Dv4) 64-bit flight simulator and all existing 32-bit flight simulators (FSX, FSX-SE and P3Dv3.4). It should installed into the Flt Sim's module folder. Each adult Sim requires its own installation. This version adds the new GSX Library for working with the FSDT GSX2 add-on (lib-GSX.lua v1.3). This release requires a registered version FSUIPC5 5.153 or later to work with P3Dv4. FSUIPC4 4.974 or later is required for other 32-bit Flt Sims (FSX, FSX-SE or P3Dv3.4). LINDA WILL NOT FUNCTION WITH OLDER VERSIONS OF FSUIPC. IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH P3Dv5 OR FSUIPC6. This release provides full support for all existing features including VRi Combo MCP panel operation. Please read the enclosed release notes for all details on new features. Most of the changes are under the bonnet (US hood) based on user feedback: v3.1.1 Fixes to Fault Diagnosis Mode (on Maintenance page). Fixes Splash Screen closure error. Fixes to Edit Aircraft Module. v3.1.0 Internal GUI changes. Added Fault Diagnosis Mode. Improved Module Selection. NOTE - This version allows the old PMDG 737NGX and new PMDG 737NGXu to coexist. Even if you don't own the PMDG 737NGXu, you will need to download the latest version of the old PMDG 737NGX module v4.15 to allow both aircraft to operate correctly. All issues and problems should be reported on the LINDA Support sub-forum. Download: LINDA 3.1.1 Download Release Notes
