My friend just purchased Prepar3d V4.2 and has a really strange problem with the zoom function. The zoom appears to only operate on the horizontal axis, so when he zooms out the view is crushed in on the sides while the vertical seems to maintain the same aspect ratio, the VC get's crushed in down to about 1" width of screen space, while the vertical is still the full height. It almost looks like a weird fisheye effect to the extreme. Only one user on the LM forum has posted similar issue but I don't think he describes the issue well enough to determine anything / I don't have any pics as I was looking at his system via teamviewer , but it is a fresh install of 4.2 (not upgraded from previous versions) . FTX global and PMDG 777, 737, Activesky for P3Dv4 and FSUIPC addons.
I've loaded my P3D to compare to his and this zoom function is definitely not working the same compared between both PC's. Tried all the usual suspects such as video drivers, run as admin, deleting .cfg's for P3d and cameras and letting the sim rebuild them to no avail. Wide view aspect ratio doesn't have any effect. Also his zoom doesn't seem to have any limits like mine does it will zoom in and out to very far like . . He is only using a 1920x180 single screen, no multimonitors VR or anything else. Both of our systems are using 1080 geforce cards with the latest drivers.
Been fixing sims forever but never have seem an issue like this before or would suspect a camera program but there is none and I supervised install of all addons and P3DV4 install and nothing was wrong or out of place. Baffled
