  1. I have flown C414AW a couple of times without issue. However, now I cannot get the engines started. I also tried to bring up the EFB. No matter where I click on the triangular window, there is just no EFB tablet to be seen. I am using the PMS50 GTN750 livery. Anyone, please help. Thank you
  2. In PMDG 777, it takes about 9 seconds from idle thrust to 55% N1 thrust (then push TOGA button) and seems to be slower spool-up response. In reality, I feel it takes about 7 seconds from idle thrust to 55% N1 thrust. Please give me your comment about true engine spool-up response. Thank you. Tetsuji Konohira
  3. Hi all. I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to tweak the engine sounds of the PMDG 737. In particular, in real life 737's, at idle when throttling down, I notice the rumble of the engine, and the full power grind when at full power. These both sound different than they do in the simulator, and I was wondering if I could try to tweak them. I have Audacity on my laptop, and I'm wondering if you can use that (and if so, how?) to modify the sounds. Or even if someone knows of a sound pack that has what I'm looking for. Hopefully someone can help me out! Thanks, Ethan
  4. Hey Team, First, I want to say that this is my first Leonardo product, and it's truly magnificent. Well made, indeed! I do have a question for you all; why will my engines/electrical system cut out suddenly? The engine (which, I believe triggers the electrical cut out) will occur after engine start up, and/or immediately after take off. My initial flight was a success (with no eng/elec issues), but for every flight since, i've had my Eng shut down randomly either after push and start, or take off. Knowing that i've completed one flight successfully makes me think it's user error. What system/procedure could i be ignoring that allows this shutdown to happen? I'm following the checklists to a T (I hope), and the only thing I can point to is to FS2CREW and some of the commands I give them. I think it has to do with the APU gen or something. Any insight would be appreciated!
  5. Hello everyone: I know that some of you have had some interesting problems progressing and getting fixed rather sooner than later. But, I have came to a conclusion that some of you have been having lots of complaints of the PMDG 737-800/900 NGX N1 fan not being there, on not in the correct position. If that is the case, I have a solution that you should read below. Step 1: Select the NGX model that you plan to fly, or currently just want to fly around with; doesn't need to be a specific livery. Step 2: If the N1 fan is missing, or is not in place, just close (X) out of your FSX, Fs2004, FS9 screen, and restart the simulator. Or you could do what I tend to do every now and again; Select that plane, click "Fly now", and make sure that the model has the missing N1 blade fan. If it does so happen to be missing, just hit the button on the keyboard "ESC" and click "End Flight". Once that is done, click "Fly Now" once more and the problem should be fixed. This may happen quite a bit, but there may be some more patches and bug fixes coming out, because of how new these models are.
  6. This topic is about the under development Outerra project. Hi all! I've created a small poll about this engine. Please vote, if you have a minute! http://poll.pollcode.com/asfux4
  7. Hey guys and gals, I bought the Saratoga from Carenado really because I'm thinking about buying a real one and wanted to see how it does for cross-country trips. I've encountered a problem relating to engine performance that I just can't figure out. When I get to cruising altitude, I can get the prop set to where I want it and the mixture correct, but even with the throttle maxed, the manifold pressure won't go above 22 inHg. In the reference manual that comes with the plane it says for cruise: "75%, set per power table." But there is no power table. I did research online and found that for 75% power you should go for 24 inHg and 2,500 RPM (another suggestion I found was 25 inHg and 2,400 RPM). But I can't get anywhere near those inHg settings. Another thing to note is that the fuel flow gauge underneath the manifold pressure gauge has two lines, one for 65% power and one for 75%. I don't even get near the 65% line, so I know I'm not generating even 65% power. So I put along at 120 mph. I may as well be flying a Cherokee 180 for that speed. What gives? Any ideas? For info, yesterday I was at 8,000 feet and the mixture was set at about 35%. CHT and EGT were both fine. I'm just not getting any umph! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Hey guys, a really annoying problem occured on my last flights with Leonardo's Fly The Maddog 2008. Just after lift off several messages appear on the EOAP: L oil press lowL gen offL CSD oil press lowL hyd press low I'm not sure, but very probably the left engine shuts down, too. That may be a rookie mistake, but I currently have no idea what may have caused it, so I'd be very happy if somebody has any idea how to solve that...
  9. I am trying to challenge myself in this... I've already watched a few videos on doing this, but, when on the overhead panel, trying to turn on ground power, the button is just blank with no sign on it... Just plain blank... Here's the steps... I turned on battery, then, put standby pwr to auto... And then turned on all of the bus ties and the gen cont... I then tried to turn the knob under the sign saying sys fault to aux, but the sign didn't go away... I ignored it, but then, I eventually figured out I had to turn on ground power... There is no white mark appearing on the switch... It's totally unavailable... I do have parking brakes on, but found it not helpful... Please help... Anybody!!! Thanks
  10. Hello Simmers, I got some problems right here: 1. Why always activation window pops up when i load the 737-800/900NGX? Even though I have an original activation code. 2. After I put it into the activation window, I continued the free flight process as usual until the aircraft was in the parking gate. When the aircraft was pushing back, i did engine start procedure, but I got the second well problem. Well, for the engine 2 when N1 rotation was observed, N2 reached 26-28 and the start lever was clicked into the idle potition, N2 didn't increase to normal acceleration, it just stayed on 26-28 RPM. I really don't understand why this could be happened. 3. Due this problem, I exit the FSX, and i got "A fatal error occured". I never get this problem before. Could anyone please help me?
  11. I reacently baught the PMDG 737ngx and have mostly got to grips with it. I have encountered a problem where only 1 engine will start after being cold and dark, and in the panel save 'deafault' only one engine will give me power. :( Ive tried cheacking the bleed air was on, the fuel pumps were on and if the APU was running but still no luck. I hope somobody can help.
  12. Hi guys! I have a question...there's something strange with the B200...or I'm doing wrong...?, if I try to follow torque lb power according to the cruise performance tables, they're only correct and match the power if Anti-Ice is OFF, if Anti-Ice is ON, the power decreases obviously, but does not match the indicated torque lb never...otherwise, I have to leave the throttle at full power, trying to match the torque lbs...and that's not right and real...I think? Someone can explain me this, or clarify it?, I really need to know this!!!, thanks guys! Regards
  13. Hi. Just for (virtual) practice in Realair Duke. Scenery is the Aerosoft Demo for Catalina-Avalon Keep in mind, I'm not a real pilot. I hope you have fun. 720p available
  14. Hi There, i have a problem that is struggling me, and i've checked almost everything on the net before begging you. PMDG 737 fully patched (800) Engile start issue. P3D 4.2 (same issue with 4.0 and 4.1) Situation: APU RUNNING FUEL PUMPS ALL ON L&R PACKS OFF ISOLATION VALVE OPEN (but tried also with AUTO) ENG 1&2 BLEED OFF APU BLEED ON (at 10 psu) Issue: Starting LEFT engine (starting RIGHT same result) -> Selector to GRD APU pressure goes to 40 PSU N2 start rising, Fuel flow start rising Oil pressure start rising AT 25% N2 (tried also at 20%, same result) i'm opening fuel valve N2 continues running up, N1 start rising, EGT start rising, FF initially goes to 0.6 then lowering to 0,3 OIL TEMPERATURE WON'T RISE -> N1 STOP RISING at 20% Everything seems NORMAL except OIL TEMPERATURE that stays at external temperature and ENGINE that won't spool up when applying thrust power. It seems running normally but... not running at all... I started also a normal default aircraft before starting PMDG. Same result Fix I'm removing fuel from badly started engine and then reapply GRD, engine spool up again and at 25 N2 (tried at 20 too) i provide fuel. Same result... Same result occurs if i start running the other engine... at 2nd or 3rd attempt temperature start rising normally (oil temperature) and engine goes UP with N1 to normal levels. PMDG is fully patched... i didn't found anything on internet for that issue that is struggling me... Any suggestion?
  15. Hey guys, I tried searching around but could not find an answer to my question. If my question however already has been asked and answered some place at the forum I apologize and ask kindly that someone point me to that thread. I am new to the forum btw so I apologize in advance. My question is regarding the jet engine sound effects in FSX. I am primarily using the PMDG 737 aircraft, which does have a more realistic engine sound than the default FSX aircraft, but I can't help but think there is something missing. I found 2 random videos on youtube which are not mine and which I take no credit for, I just want to ask you to watch them and compare the sound, the first video is FSX, the second is real aircraft: 1. - FSX: 2. - Real aircraft: My question is: is there a way (addon/setting tweak/whatever) to make the sound in FSX sound more like jet engines sound in real life at a distance? I am talking about the wavy-ish whistling/whining/change in pitch mixed with general sound warping (caused by aerodynamics?) that you can clearly hear aircraft make in real life like in the second video. That is something that's missing in FSX, and I would really like to fix that. The sound on the PMDG while in virtual cockpit view (or any other in/around the aircraft view for that matter) is pretty realistic, but when using the "fly by" camera like the one you can see being used in the first video, the sound is really dull and not very realistic. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any replies.
  16. Hello, First of all, yes, I used the search function on this forum, and yes, I searched through both FCOM's, the FCTM and the QRH. That said, I still don't have an answer for the following situation: Tonight, I was testing the 777 (using the freighter version). I was all set up for a long flight at high load, but ran into a (programmed...) severe engine failure shortly after liftoff. My first priority was to keep flying the aircraft. No particular problem, despite the alarms and sudden loss of thrust on the left side. Once I got everything under control, I went through the appropriate checklist on the ECL. So far, so good. Now, my plan was to land back at my departure airport, but to do so, I had to jettison about 80000kgs of fuel. I entered a hold over the sea to do just that. The problem I ran into here, is that with only one engine operating, dumping fuel caused a quickly escalating fuel imbalance, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to stabilize. By the time the center tank was empty, the imbalance had reached about 3500kg. Roughly what could be expected without cross feeding. I kept the fuel jettison going for a while to see whether the auto jettison function would turn off the right jettison pump when the right main tank (the less full one) reached jettison goal/2 (which it didn't). No idea whether it should stop here though, it was just an idea I had while flying so I tested it. a couple of notes: 1) fuel jettison with 2 engines running seemed to be working perfectly fine in a previous test flight. 2) cross feed also worked perfectly when fuel wasn't being jettisoned. As it was, I manually stopped the fuel jettison a bit early, and then kept flying in the hold while cross feeding to reduce the imbalance a bit, before landing. Anyway, what I'm looking for: What would be the correct procedure in this case? What went/did I do wrong? Feel free to reply with references to the correct sections in the manuals... I didn't find what I was looking for so far... Thanks in advance...
  17. Hello all, I've had a problem ever since I've started flying with Vatsim, and therefore with a headset. The communications do come through the headset as I want them to, and the other sounds (cockpit, environment) through my speakers... except for the engine sounds, which come through the headset along with the voice. It's quite disturbing, since FSX doesn't offer to separate the engine sounds from the environment and cockpit ones, only from the voice. Anyone knows a solution? (I have FSX with Acceleration, fly the Aerosoft Airbus A320, and use Vatsim through FSInn.)
  18. I think some people might find this informative, it confuses me but makes me want the AOA Training ASAP! These are not my videos he goes by the username "skysurfer007" on YouTube. I'm sure he's on these forums as well. Also he's a RL -800 pilot. And he may have a few suggestions/wishlist for the FMC/FMS that are not modeled in the PMDG NGX that maybe we can get updated in the future. Part 1 Part 2
  19. friends, how I can assign the ENGINE START LEVERS with FSUIPC. I want to use my command CH PRODC and I have several buttons available. What command can i use for this. Como puedo asignar con el FSUIPC, los engine start levers. Tks in advice. Fher.
  20. Hi simmers, In several videos you can clearly see a smooth spinning engine. Please watch this as an example (0:08) > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skQGJRvuBFY&feature=youtube_gdata_player. But my 737NGX's engine isn't rotating smooth at all. Is it a tweak or mod or something? PS: sorry for my English.
  21. A year ago, I think i made a bad flightsim decision.. I was trying to save on money and bought CS 777 instead of PMDG 777.. the night lighting is bad, flight dynamics, engine/APU start sequence inaccurate, etc.. I was euphoric at the money I saved but I'm finding out all the little flaws of the CS 777 over time that are now shadowing whatever monetary benefit I gained.. I'm seriously considering retiring my CS 777 in the Mojave desert and thinking about buying PMDG 777. Wanted to hear from the community if this is a good decision. If I'm going to buy it, any idea when the best deals are out there? Should I wait for black friday/thanksgiving sale etc? Does PMDG typically offer big discounts during holiday sales? I see that Aerosoft is selling PMDG base 777 at 67 Euro which is about 15-20 $ cheaper than the PMDG website.. I'm all ears for suggestions and advise... Cheers. Vinod Kumar.
  22. When I load the PMDG 737-800 NGX, the fan blades and spinners in the engine intakes are missing, the beacons appear as steady burn lights rather than flashing lights, and the landing lights have different combinations of being on or extended (often different between the left and right sides) in disagreement with the landing light switches. I've tried reloading the aircraft many times, restarting FSX many times, restarting the computer, reinstalling the liveries, and even repairing the entire 737 8/900 installation. The problem persists. I've had the for a few months and did not experience these problems until a couple days ago. I've considered reinstalling FSX, but frankly, I'd rather not if there's a better way of fixing this. Thank you for your time. -Nathan Theriault
