  1. Hi, I always installed FSX on another partition but didn't like how it still installed files to %appdata%\microsoft\fsx and %programdata%\microsoft\fsxI have now found a workaround/solution for forcing FSX to put/use the files on another partition (or another folder).I did a quick search here but couldn't find this being posted before. Here's how it works. You download a utility from microsoft called junction, which allows you to create a fake folder/shortcut in location X which actually 'points' to folder Y on the location of your choice. It tricks windows into thinking the folder is still on (let's say) C:\, while it's actually on D:\. I tried it with FSX and it works great. So for all those who like to keep all files on one partition: 1) Download junction from http://technet.micro...s/bb896768.aspx2) Extract the junction.exe to \windows\system32\3) Open a command prompt (CMD) Via CMD you can use junction.exe, here's how it works:junction.exe "name_of_file_or_folder" "the_location_you_want_to_point_to"So for FSX, I used (with quotes): 4) junction.exe "%appdata%\microsoft\fsx" "D:\fsx\appdata\fsx"and5) junction.exe "%programdata%\microsoft\fsx" "D:\fsx\programdata\fsx" Done! I used this before installing FSX, and saw FSX creating the files on my other partition. This should, however, also work with your current FSX install, by using junction after(!) you've moved the folders. I hope this information is useful to some.
  2. hello guys.... I´m a german, I´m sorry about my english but i hope you understand me. I have a big problem with the Shadermod "sweetfx" :-( If I enable it (into the tool "FlightFX) or copy the "d3d9.ll" in the rootfolder of FSX, the FSX don´t start... FSX says: one or more files cannot load. pleas reinstall fsx or repair. If I put the d3d9.dll out of the FSX-root, it runs without any problems. :-( i hope you can help me to fix this issue. Many many thanks!
  3. Merry Christmas Eve to all. I didn't think that this fit in the hardware section. I received my new 2560X1440 monitor today and hooked it up. I opened FSX and selected this resolution from the menu, 2560x1440x32, and noticed that I had two black sections on the left and right. I was under the impression that 1560x1440 was 16:9 aspect ratio, and I am fairly certain that the last monitor I was using was 16:9 aspect ratio which had no black sections on the side. When reading about FSX CFG I read that, I think its called wide screen, should be changed to true. I'm pretty sure I have not done this yet and will try it. I'm just confused that if they are the same aspect ration why is one showing black sections??? Also, when I change wide screen to true, is there a section of the CFG that I need to type in the new resolution, 2560x1440? I wouldn't think so since it already showed up in FSX Setting. By the way, I know a little about changing CFG and editing through Notepad, but am very much an amateur at this, so a child's explanation would be very helpful. Any advice is welcomed and have a merry Christmas everyone!
  4. I have lost access to the bar along the top of the monitor that enables me to close Xplane 11 properly or access the other functions such as flight configuration or exit. The menu icons do not show but frame rate panel still appears. I have to close down by using crl+alt+delete and open up by clicking on the application link in the folder. The short cut does not show up on the windows 10 desktop. Help would be much appreciated.
  5. Little NavMap Default Directories Location Little navmap created a group of default directories under 'Little Navmap Files' which was great. I want to relocate all these directories to a different drive as I keep all my flight sim programs and files on one ssd card but I have not found out how to change or move these directories. I have just started so not concerned about losing any data just want to do this before I download the scenery data etc. Probably missing the obvious but any help would be appreciated.

  8. Because the ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog is such a wonderful control platform, and certainly the last I will ever buy, I thought we should share our config files and ideas, and suggestions for interoperability between P3d and the great add-ons that work with the pair. What do you think? Chas
  9. Hi there! Apologies for not posting this in the "Library" forum, but I'm currently unable to do so due to being a new member. I don't appear to be able to download any files from the AVSim Library at all. They all become immediately corrupted. I'm running Windows 10 version 1703 build 15063.483, non-Insider. The issue persists across all browsers I've tried so far - IE, Edge, Firefox and Chrome - albeit the case that it manifests itself slightly differently in each: IE (11.483.15063.0) and Edge (40.15063.0.0 with EdgeHTML 15.15063) both ask to download the file, then when I click "Save" immediately say "[filename] couldn't be downloaded". On pressing "Retry", the download completes suspiciously fast, and then produces a corrupted .zip file. Chrome (59.0.3071.115 64-bit) allows the download as usual, but produces the corrupted .zip file. It acts, however, as if the file is perfectly normal. Firefox (Aurora, 55.0b6 32-bit) refuses to even let me click the "Save file" popup, instead offering an error: This issue appears no matter what file I am downloading. Interestingly, it also appears when trying to explore any non-plaintext file in ZipDive! - for instance, PDFs come up with "This PDF document might not be displayed correctly" in Firefox and "PDF unreadable" in Edge - but plaintext ZipDive! files are A-OK. I note that the page talks about FTP, but the linked page is a standard 443 PHP page, not an FTP link - might this be the root of the issue, trying to send FTP data over a SSL connection rather than an FTP one? Appreciate any help. Thanks, Curtis
