Today I had a nice time looking at all the details of Flightbeam's Minneapolis scenery. I don't have much to say about it other than the fact that I love it! But perhaps I'm biased, since I'm from the area...and when I was young (when the airport did not have RY 17/35), my dad and grandpa would frequently drive me up the dirt road (the road to the west of 30L, now paved - Post Rd) to look at all the planes departing and landing. I have fond memories of that and I've been flying out of here for most of my travels ever since. When I look at a potential addon purchase I enjoy seeing nice screenshots.... so here are some unique views with different lighting - hope you enjoy! Okay so I hope that I am able to have this make sense because this is extremely confusing to explain. So a few weeks ago I downloaded Imaginesims Atlanta scenery for FSX and I had a TON of trouble trying to install it and after awhile I gave it up as a lost cause. So then a couple of days ago I decided that I would try and install it again. So I read through the manuals and scoured the internet and I finally figured out what I had done wrong. After successfully installing it I went up to my FSX tool bar and clicked on "Add-ons" and I found to my horror that everything was gone off of that tab, Couatl, GSX, Addon Manager, Ultimate Traffic 2, etc. The only thing that remained was something called "FSUIPC." I wondered if this would affect my game and it sure did, a lot. So I went to one of my installed sceneries and found out that all the buildings were missing, and the same thing for all the addon airports that used Couatl. It has happened to me before so I was thinking that I'd be able to fix the problem. So I also checked to see if my addon planes were also fine. I loaded up my Quality wings 757 only to find out that all the panels are missing, and outside the airplane some of the landing gears were missing and the flaps were down with the spoilers up. I loaded up my PMDG 737 and the same thing happened (except that there was nothing wrong with the outside of the plane). I am really at a loss here, I have no idea what to do and I don't want to mess with anything to mess it up further. Any help is appreciated! If you need me to elaborate on anything don't hesitate to ask. Thank you!

Has anyone heard when FlightBeam will setup their installer to allow installation of their products into P3DV2.3? Right now I'm getting the following error when trying to install the KIAD product: FS Dreamteam immediately changed their installers for V2.3 so I thought it would be quick for FlightBeam too. Best regards,

So I did my first YouTube video recording with FSX last night (haven't edited the footage yet) but I was very happy with the departure from FlyTampa's Chicago Midway. I was pretty much pegged 25+ FPS while recording with FRAPS with full detail and heavy traffic. The flight was smooth but things turned ugly as I got into the pattern to land at KIAD. Slowly the FPS started to creep down from 30 pegged to 29, 28,27 and on and on until I was on final with the airport in sight and the FPS dent down as low as 14 and stayed below 20 the entire time. While it was not stuttering it was frame clicking for sure at that low level of FPS. I turned off traffic while landing and only got back a whopping 4 FPS. Something has to be wrong at this airport. Does anyone else experience this level of drop in FPS in and around this airport? I have all of Flightbeam's airports and this is the newest and also appears to be the worst performing. It made for a disappointing ending to a two hour flight.

Hello All, I'm looking to buy another North America scenery for P3D, and am trying to pick between Flightbeam KSFO and one of the Drzewiecki Design NY packages. I've own KDEN and KIAD as well as DD KORD, but I heard there was a makeover of KSFO in the works from an older FSElite article but I couildn't find anything newer. I saw this would not be free, but should I get KSFO anyway? Would it be a complete re-buy or just an upgrade? Thanks and if you have other solutions they are more than welcome. Stay safe, Canine

So I got into the old trick of converting textures and shrinking them down, especially for the Ultimate Traffic 2 planes. When the utility was done adding mipmaps and alphas to all the planes I thought I'd experiment and be clever at a payware airport; Flightbeam's KSFO. Now before I did anything TOO stupid, I backed up all the textures in the KSFO folder and then just to test things out I shrunk some of the textures down to 512x512 and re-mipmapped them and then fired up FSX. It looked like utter crap so I restored the backup of the textures but now... those textures that I edited.. are STILL loading on the airport! I even did re-install of of KSFO (without uninstalling it) and my crappy texture edits are STILL there. @_@ I assume this is FSX storing the textures in a cache and refusing to load the restored textures just to torture me further. Where is it hiding it my crappy texture edits that I have gotten rid of the KSFO texture folder? How can I restore the textures? My quest to get more than 22 FPS in the NGX while UT2 is running at FB KSFO is going to drive me insane!

Does anyone know how to install FlightBeam KSFO into P3D? I just bought it and the installer doesn't give an option (I realize it's an older addon). I read where the procedure to install is posted somewhere but my searches on these forums turned up nothing. Any help is much appreciated! Todd

Hey AVSIM community. I finally got around to making my first (lengthy) video. Thanks to all the help and support over the last view months to get my FSX into shape for recording. There are no tricks or gimmicks or video enhancements that were not directly in FSX itself. I wanted to show that you can have solid 30+ frames even at busy detailed airports while even inside the PMDG 737. I split the video into two parts. The first covers the start up, taxi out and take off and the second is the descent in, landing and taxi to the gate. Flight is between Flightbeam's KIAD Dulles and FlyTampa's Chicago Midway. Enjoy! The second part is linked inside the video description on YouTube.

Quick flight from SLC to SFO showcasing Islandsim's KSLC and Flightbeam's Legacy KSFO (Holding out on the HD version until I switch to P3Dv4). Flying one of my favorite planes that I feel gets overlooked, the Feelthere E-175 in United Express colors. Slow Taxi out to 16L. Nice view of the mountains towards Lookout Peak. Lining up 16L with mountains on the left, Mount Aire and Mount Raymond. Farnsworth Peak and Nelson Peak over to the right while continuing to line up on 16L. After takeoff, right turn over the Great Salt Lake with a great view of Farnsworth Peak off the left wing. Antelope Island coming into view off the right wing. Final approach in KSFO runway 28L. Smoky landing 28L, right of center since I was too busy trying to get a good shot. Reversers, spoilers, full flaps deployed. Wasn't pretty, but we made it.

Here are some pictures I took while playing around with PTA and Ultimate Realism Pack v 0.95. I used the Preset in v0.95 but tweaked the blue levels on the PTA under the atmospheric scattering effect. I don't really take pictures so please forgive my lack of creativity. :P
