  1. Hello fellow simmers I just made the switch from P3D v4 to v5. So far everything went great and i am amazed by the improvements. I had a lot of Addons installed on v4, especially some Texture, shader and atmospheric enhancements. With PBR on all the planes i use, tomatoshade is no longer needed (so i don't need a replacement). Reshade ist already installed and looking great. I also was a user of REX Sky- and Environment Force. As these products are no longer compatible, this leaves me with two questions that i hope to find some answers or opinions for: - I saw that Envtex ist compatible for v5. Is Envtex a compareable application to the REX products? (If not, what's the difference?). What's your opinion and what are your experiences ? Is Envtex for P3Dv5 worth it ? - in a lot of great looking P3Dv5 setups on youtube, i saw that Envtex is not used ("only" Active Sky and Reshade). That raises the question: is Envtex even needed to make P3Dv5 look better ? Thank's in advance for your answers. I wish you all a great week. Felix
  2. Hi, Would like to ask if I am doing something wrong on that: Rex Weather Force now provides a metar_report.xml file, that is updated regularly. As I wanted pilot2atc to get the weather from this file instead from NOAA, in the WX tab of the options I linked to the directory (XXX:\rex weather force bla bla\export\ ) and checked the option to use REX. But... nothing happens. Tried different locations (in sim), did this on different times (in sim and in real), disabled UAC, started as admin, blah blah... Pilot2ATC simply doesn't show me the weather. ATIS tells me it's not available and the alt setting is always 29.92. The second thing: in the options traffic tab if the checkbox is checked, traffic warnings keep coming when taking off and landing or passing low in the vicinity of an airport. But if I ask for clearance to cross a rwy I often get cleared into departing traffic. This feature doesn't work (at least in MSFS) at all... 😞 and the third thing: How do I put "new" airports and airfields into the database? MSFS has many airfields that doesn't exist in pilot2Atc. I tried to run the new "makerunways" for fs2020 and then let pilot2atc pick up the date from the files. But I ended up in like 3 x 2 hours "reading data" with 2 x empty database in the end. The third time it obviously turned out better, but still no new airports. And yes... I checked the files manually. The airports are there... Any ideas how to solve that?
  3. Good Morning From WIII, I have read a lot about rex environment force and active sky along with active sky cloud art but I still don't understand the difference of them. Can anyone help me to explain the differences of them? I want to get a flying experience that has realistic weather such as weather changes, texture of rain water, wind texture, etc. It might look like it's late to buy among the three, but I'm trying to improve my game and try a more real environment.

  6. Hi all! I purchased REX Essentials Plus OD a few months ago for FSX. I upgraded to P3D yesterday, purchased the REX Access Rights for P3D (5 bucks), got charged on my card for it, but according to the program, I haven't bought it and can't activate it. I have the latest version and hit the restore button under Backup/Restore Configuration, but it still says, "P3D not activated." Is there anybody who knows anything about this or who I can contact at REX? Or better yet, is there anybody from REX here on the forums? It's really annoying, mainly because I got charged for something I apparently never bought. Thanks.
  7. Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed that the clouds cast shadows on the airplane, even when the airplane is above them. I have cloud shadows on obviously, and they look great on the ground. But after climbing up over the clouds I wouldn't expect to still see them on the plane. Is this a REX issue possibly or just the way the cloud shadows are rendered? I can post a short video if needed to show what I'm seeing. Thanks.

  9. I'm a long time user of most of these products with the exception of EnvTex.. i've heard and seen good things from EnvTex.. My preference with p3dv3 was to use Rex Texture Direct for the ground/water and use ASCA + AS16 for the sky/clouds.. Now with p3dv4 at hand and fully installed.. i'm debating which route to take. Its my understanding that Rex Texture direct should work with a patch any day now (i assume this means install the old installer then patch it?).. and I have installed the beta for aspd and asca.. though i'm not clear on the aspd and asca if i need to purchase anything to keep them installed (IE: do they expire).. i had purchased the AS license awhile back for 16/asca. (i'm a huge fan of the dynamic cloud feature with ASCA, which i believe is the only product to do this on the fly?) Given all this.. i thought maybe looking at EnvTex is worth a shot, though if i can achieve similar looks without spending more then i'd rather avoid it for now, as there are other addons on my shopping list :) Also not sure, but it looks like EnvTex is sortof a patch job to get it running too... In general i've gone to the all add-on.xml route with folder separation from the main p3d folder.. hoping rex/envtex would adhere to this in some way, not sounding likely.. seems like they are replacing textures directly (unavoidable i guess though since its texture replacements, ala FTXG style). So in general unsure here.. any experiences so far.. or thoughts on EnvTex vs Rex (at least for the ground textures).. I assume they are all on par and maybe i should just wait for the rex patch (and skyforce 3D as well). It sounds like the sky textures and maybe the runway textures cant be beat with EnvTex.. so maybe EnvTex + ASCA + AS16 (clouds with AS).. Thanks in advance
  10. As you can see i get a horrible horizon line when i fly through the first layer of clouds. Anyone know the cause or how to fix it? Im using Orbx Global and Rex 4 http://imgur.com/a/yO2pl
  11. In trying to better assist users that are experiencing download issues. I decided to create a separate post here to give advice instead of trying to address each need throughout this forum. First, we are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. Again, we are working hard to handle the load. If you purchased from the REX Store please try the following: 1.) If you are using the REX File Transfer Manager tool to download, start it again and under the "Download Type" option select the 2nd option "Use direct download links to download files". This will provide individual links to download. You can use your download manager built within your browser to control it at this time. 2.) If option #1 doesn't work on the bottom of the REX File Transfer/Support Manager is a link to "Submit Support Ticket". Click that link, fill out the form, and submit it. This will automatically generate a support ticket within our system and we directly contact you with another solution." If you purchased from another store please do the following: 1.) Please go to our support forum: http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums and submit your request within our forum. If you are a first time user of our forum. PLEASE place your order #, product, and store your purchased REX from within your signature. This will speed up the validation process for us. We are answering all support items as fast as possible and we appreciate your patience. Thank you.
