Linda and Mcp2a Connection problem

Recommended Posts

I am having problems with my mcp2a ..

Let me start with the config..

Testing Environment (1)

Apple Mac Pro (Trash Can 12 Core)

LINDA: 2.8.3

FSUIPC: 4.995 Registered

Aerosoft Airbus Module 4.3v2

Prepar3d v3.1.2 Pro

Aerosoft Airbus Extended 1.15

While Prepar3d kicks in mcp2a blinks but still Dream Supplier is Displayed.. (VRiSim is not loaded)

If I cancel Linda and reboot mcp2a and execute VRiSim then VRiSim is able to connect and mcp2a is functioning.

Here is the Linda log:

Testing Environment (2)

PC with 1080GTX and i6700k

LINDA: 2.8.3

FSUIPC: 4.995 Registered and 4.995c (tried it as well)

Aerosoft Airbus Module 4.3v2

Prepar3d v3.3.5 Pro

Aerosoft Airbus 1.31

Actually I mainly did my trial and errors on this machine.. I actually flew once without any problems one day but then

It went back to Dream Supplier state. VRiSim app successfully connects on port 1 but I can not use it because VRiSim gives

an other error saying that it cannot connect to AAX Sdk panel... But I can confirm that I have no problem establishing connection

between mcp2a and VRiSim.

Sorry for the late response. I have been away. LINDA has identified the MCP2a and run its initialisation. The CMDRST is required to initialise the VRi MCP2a so I don't understand how deleting it has solved your problem. I will need to investigate further.

I really do not know, may be VRInsight has changed something (Although I doubt it) . It bought it 2 weeks ago, since then i had a lot of problems. Then i starting debugging it. and finally found a solution by removing the reset line. Now everything works prefect. Before deleting the line.

I would see fly now on mcp2a but right after receiving the reset command the screens would blink and get back to dream supplier message. not the Linda init ...... powered by ..... screens...

Since I caught you here, I have an other question.. I am trying to get to see the next waypoint distance and name on the radio panels.. i have modified the dme function in common.lua line 1870 but could not find the right offset to get the string name of the waypoint. is it doable ? if so that would be a great future update.. thanks

Sorry I am not the PDMG module expert so I can not help with the offset you need.

Sorry. My mistake. I AM the Aerosoft Airbus expert(ish). You will need to use the LINDA Tracer to look through the available LVars to see if the next waypoint data is available. It should be as it appears in the top right corner of the MFD.

Used the tracer to check all the LVARS, did not get any string responses, I am able to get the distance to the waypoint but not the ident.. I believe that it should be there since virtual avionics is able to gain this data (not only this data but all mcdu data regarding flight plan) it should be there. My assumption is that the LVAR list that we are seeing via the TRACER has more ..
