OpusFSI Release Version 5.22.5 Available

Recommended Posts

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.62.0 is now available for download on our website.

Remember when installing the OpusFSI_v462_Beta.msi file you must uninstall your current version before installing the new version (do not delete your previous \OpusFSI installation folder). After installing please check all the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues. You can download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

With the exception of the OpusPDK Interface, this beta should be fully compatible with Prepar3D Versions 2 and 3. Warning - Users should NOT use the OpusPDK Interface with Prepar3D v3 at the moment and also make sure the OpusPDK.DLL is not loaded within the Prepar3D v3 DLL.XML file.

To ensure full compatibility the software assumes the user has installed Prepar3D using the default installation folder naming convention (e.g. in a folder called 'Prepar3D v2', 'Prepar3D v3', etc.).

Corrected a language culture problem in Live Camera which would now forces the use of a 'decimal point' number format, or English type culture, when creating camera definitions.

The Live Camera Control (LCC) 'Reset All' function will now always reset and re-select the current Live Camera view.

P.S.

This beta was re-posted at 11:00 Zulu to correct an initialisation problem.

With this beta if you wish to use the OpusPDK Interface with Prepar3D Version 2 (not possible with v3 yet) then you must ...

1. Copy and rename the \OpusFSI\OpusPDK_v2.DLL file to \OpusFSI\OpusPDK.DLL

2. Copy this OpusPDK.DLL to your \Prepar3D v2\Modules folder.

Note, there must be a copy of the OpusPDK.DLL library file in both the \OpusFSI and \Prepar3D v2\Modules folders so that both the FSISERVER and Prepar3D programs can load the DLL.

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.62.1 is now available for download on our website.

The OpusPDK Interfaces are now available for both Prepar3D versions 2 and 3. The library files are named as OpusPDK_v2.DLL and OpusPDK_v3.DLL respectively. Users must copy, without renaming, the appropriate version 2 (OpusPDK_v2) or version 3 (OpusPDK_v3) DLL file into their Prepar3D Modules sub-folder. If the Prepar3D Modules sub-folder does not exist then it should be created.

The Prepar3D DLL.XML file must also be edited to reflect the new DLL naming convention. Users can refer to the supplied DLL_v2.XML and DLL_v3.XML files in their \OpusFSI folder for examples of the typical DLL.XML file statements. Please refer to the above two example files for details.

N.B.

The Prepar3D installation folders must be named either 'Prepar3D v2' or 'Prepar3D v3' otherwise the OpusPDK Interface may not work as the wrong library version may be assumed.

The above instructions must be to set up the OpusPDK Interface for this beta and not the help text or documented instructions. They will be amended in due course.

N.B.

Many people have both version 2 and version 3 installed.

However, there is no need to rename the Prepar3D v3 folder as the software always assumes v3 is in use if it cannot identify the actual folder name.

Updated release version for the former OpusFSX product.

OpusFSX will now assume Prepar3D v3 is in use unless it can determine it is v2 from the installed path name. In such cases, the standard Prepar3D installation folder name of 'Prepar3D v2' must be used.

Corrected a problem handling Windowed Views in the latest Prepar3D Version 3 caused by the new addition of the 'Oculus' Cockpit and Virtual Cockpit CameraDefinitions (numbers 019 and 020) within the cameras.cfg file.

Re: <User>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\cameras.cfg

These newly added 'Oculus' CameraDefinitions force the display back to the main window during view cycling losing the Windowed View. Hence, these CameraDefinitions must be removed from the view cycling. This beta appends the 'CycleHidden=Yes' line to each CameraDefinition each time the CFG files are updated. You can force a CFG file update by opening the Camera Management dialog via the Cameras button, Prepar3D does not have to be running when you do this.

Modified the weather injection procedure for compatibility with Prepar3D v3. The previous injection method would result in P3Dv3 stopping any precipitation.

Added coarse zoom control to the OpusPDK Interfaces for both Prepar3D v2 and v3 systems to overcome problems with zoom in/out SimConnect controls within P3Dv3. Users must upgrade their OpusPDK_vX.DLL library files in their <P3D>\Modules folders.

The OpusPDK Interface library files are named as OpusPDK_v2.DLL and OpusPDK_v3.DLL respectively.

To update, users must copy, without renaming, the latest version 2 (OpusPDK_v2) or version 3 (OpusPDK_v3) DLL file into their Prepar3D Modules folder.

On screen weather report titles modified in Prepar3D systems to prevent the title extending beyond the weather report's caption box area.

Handling of the sim's camera and aircraft CFG files will now recognise any mixture of upper and lower case in the file's definitions and statements.

Corrected a weather injection problem introduced in betas 9 and 10. This beta injects weather differently in P3Dv3 but uses the previous known working method, including reverting back to user-defined weather mode, for all other sim types and versions.

During the recent work it appears we have uncovered another bug in P3Dv3 to do with the SimConnect 'WeatherSetModeCustom' function. Like all other sim types and versions this function should simply set the weather mode to custom or 'user-defined' without altering the weather. In P3Dv3 this function seems to kill any displayed precipitation as well. We will report this to Lockheed Martin asap.

To summarise for correct TAT in P3D ...

You must now make sure the FSISERVER program runs in the correct v2 or v3 mode. So v2 will only be selected if it recognises the 'Prepar3d v2' install folder name, else it assumes v3.

The weather inject method for the two versions are now different and will remain until LM have fixed the v3 problem.

You can see what mode the program has assumed in the Spy window.

Stephen :-)

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.62.12 is now available for download on our website.

The FSISERVER and FSICLIENT programs are now less stringent when determining the Prepar3D version number from the specified Prepar3D install path. The decoding will now accept either 'Prepar3D' or 'P3D' phrases within the path name in combination with either a digit version number or a version number in the standard 'Vx' form. All decoding of the install path is not case sensitive.

In Prepar3D mode, the assumed Prepar3D version number is now displayed when opening the main Spy window of both the FSISERVER and FSICLIENT programs. Due to problems with the current P3Dv3 software, correct weather injection relies on identifying the correct version number. Use of the wrong P3D version will result in high TATs during flight.

Live Camera software in both FSISERVER and FSICLIENT programs (in Prepar3D modes) updated to search all the SimObject 'Airplane' and 'Rotorcraft' addon paths listed within the sim ProgramData's 'simobjects.cfg' file. Each listed addon path must contain the 'Airplane' or 'Rotorcraft' phrases (not case sensitive) for it to be accepted as an addon aircraft.
