OpusFSI Release Version 5.22.5 Available

Recommended Posts

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.70.0 is now available for download on our website.

Remember when installing the OpusFSI_v470_Beta.msi file you must uninstall your current version before installing the new version (do not delete your previous \OpusFSI installation folder). After installing please check all the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues. You can download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

Modified the appearance and layout of the OpusFSI Weather Report forms. The form and all buttons have been given a smaller footprint. The 'Font' option has been removed and a new 'Options' button has been added. The Options button can be used to specify the following OpusFSI Weather Report options,

Top Most - Displays an OpusFSI Weather Report form top most on the screen.
Opacity - Specifies the opacity for an OpusFSI Weather Report form.
Font - Specifies the display font for an OpusFSI Weather Report form.

After specifying the above the user may choose to 'Modify' the current report form, or click on 'Modify All' to change all OpusFSI Weather Report forms. The 'Resize' checkbox can be used to resize all forms the current form's size.

Specifying both Top Most and an Opacity less than 100% will allow the OpusFSI Weather Report form to be sized, positioned, and displayed over the simulator's main display. This will be found helpful when operating the simulator in Maximised or Full Screen mode.

Provision has been made to extend these features to the OpusFSI Spy windows, including font changes.

ButtKicker Configuration Dialog now includes a 'Enable Spy Test Messages' checkbox option. When ticked test messages relating to the ButtKicker audio control will be displayed within the FSISERVER Spy window. This option is disabled on start up.

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.71.0 is now available for download on our website.

Remember when installing the OpusFSI_v471_Beta.msi file you must uninstall your current version before installing the new version (do not delete your previous \OpusFSI installation folder). After installing please check all the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues. You can download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

Modified the appearance and layout of the OpusFSI Weather Report forms. Added a 'Set Defaults' button to the Weather Report Options menu. This option will restore all OpusFSI size, font, topmost, and opacity defaults for the current report form. By default the font is set to "Courier New, 9 point", topmost is set to true, and opacity set to 100%. The form size is adjusted to give the minimal footprint for all report formats.

Improved the mouse click selection within the OpusFSI Weather Reports.

Added an OpusFSI/Simulator radio button selection for the Wx Report Shortcut commands. By default, the OpusFSI preference is selected, when selected the Display, Next, and Last Shortcut commands will be assumed to refer to the 'first' OpusFSI Wx Report.

The new smaller footprint FSISERVER and FSICLIENT Spy windows now contain an Options button and means to specify the form's topmost, opacity, and font settings. These windows can now be resized in an identical fashion to the OpusFSI Weather Reports.

The FSICLIENT form button layout has changed to make it more consistent with the FSISERVER form. The Wind Arrow markers are now given lowest priority in the LWA Map and Wx Map overlay sequence.

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.71.2 is now available for download on our website.

Corrected a problem with the automatic display of an OpusFSI Weather Report during GRIB data download.

Removed the OpusFSI/Simulator radio button selection for the Weather Report Shortcut commands in favour of having separate button and key Shortcut command options for both the Simulator and OpusFSI Weather Reports.

The first OpusFSI Weather Report can now be toggled on/off display without delay using the assigned Toggle Opus Weather Report button or key Shortcut command. The 'Opus Weather Reports' Add-ons menu option will also display OpusFSI Weather Reports without any appreciable delay.

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.72.0 is now available for download on our website.

Remember when installing the OpusFSI_v472_Beta.msi file you must uninstall your current version before installing the new version (do not delete your previous \OpusFSI installation folder). After installing please check all the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues. You can download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

Live Camera Control (LCC) and DHM functions are now active when the sim is operating in 'Instant Replay' mode. All DHM Bump Aircraft actions are suspended in this and other 'sim inactive' modes.

The Camera Management form layout has been changed and new radio buttons have been added to filter the listed view types. The user can choose to list All, VC, 2D, AC, or WV cameras. The listing of World Views (WV) cameras now indicates whether the view is 'Fixed', or configured to 'Track' the aircraft. Other view types now indicate how many aircraft types have been assigned, shown as 'All' or a number.

A new 'Details' button has been added to the Camera Management form. This button can be used to display a Camera Details form which indicates all the most important configuration details for the highlighted camera. These details include all main configuration options, the Transition and Zoom settings, and the assigned aircraft types.

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.72.1 is now available for download on our website.

Focus is automatically returned to the simulator whilst waiting for any button or key assignment when editing Shortcut commands, Cameras, and Panning Sequences.

The Live View Offsets file FSISERVER.LVO has now been renamed to FSXSERVER.LVO in keeping with other simulator specific data files. People using these offsets with FSX sim types will need to rename their LVO file.

The Camera Management, Panning Management, and Shortcut Commands forms now contain a 'Joysticks' button option. This option can be used to review and change the Input Device to Sim Joystick mapping. The 'Input Device To Sim Joystick Mapping' dialog is self explanatory. After changing the joystick numbers to match the controller order within the simulator's Controls Settings the 'Remap Joysticks' option is used to remap all the Camera, Panning Sequence, and Shortcut Command joystick numbers.

If not loaded at the time, all client system cameras will be automatically remapped when they are next loaded by the FSISERVER program.

The Spy window information has been changed to display the current joystick mapping information. The Input Device list now indicates what joystick numbers have been mapped to each controller device. The button events within the Spy window will also indicate what physical device is currently mapped to the simulator's joystick number.

The FSISERVER and FSICLIENT programs will now accept SimObject Addon paths that end in specific sub-folder names '\Airplanes' or '\Rotorcraft' (with or without a trailing backslash). Previously the standard '\SimObjects' root folder was assumed and the sub-folder names '\Airplanes' or '\Rotorcraft' were appended prior to looking for the additional (addon) SimObjects.

The Weather Locator/Overview Map now anchors it's station report window correctly on Windows 10 systems (it takes into account the invisible grab bars used in Windows 10).

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.73.0 is now available for download on our website.

Remember when installing the OpusFSI_v473_Beta.msi file you must uninstall your current version before installing the new version (do not delete your previous \OpusFSI installation folder). After installing please check all the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues. You can download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

The FSICLIENT Live Weather Control 'Display Weather Report' options will now control the first OpusFSI Weather Report as opposed to the 'in sim' weather report window.

The LWA Map Station's Monitor dialog now contains 'SIDs', 'STARs', and 'Airways' button options. The Station Monitor dialog is displayed by right-clicking on any displayed Met station or Aerodrome map marker. The 'SIDs' and 'STARs' button options are greyed out if no departure or arrival data is available for the selected station. The 'Airways' button opens the LWA Map Airways dialog which can be used to search for all Airways that have Navigation Points within the specified distance from the station (default 50nm). Clicking on any listed Airway displays a list of its Navigation Points. The 'Reverse' checkbox option can be used to reverse the order of the Navigation Points making it handy to cut and paste from the lower text box. The 'Plot Route On Map' option will plot the Airway's route on the LWA Map. Large pink dotted markers along the route are used to identify each of the Airway's navigation points.

Navigation aids are now visible at zoom level 8 and above on the LWA and Wx Maps. The more numerous Waypoints are still visible at zoom levels 9 and above.

Individual fixes listed within the SIDs, STARs, and Airways dialogs can now be selected with the mouse cursor. Once selected the LWA or Wx Map will be automatically centred on the selected navigation point and the map's zoom level will be checked to ensure a minimum zoom level of 10. To use this feature it is best to have selected the 'Plot Route On Map' option first, otherwise the navigation point may not be visible on the map. It is also necessary to turn off the map centring options if you wish to alter the zoom level and examine the area surrounding the selected navigation point.

N.B.

At present these new features have only been tested on the FSISERVER system. The new 'Airways' LWA Map feature is not functional on FSICLIENT systems and other features may not function correctly. FSICLIENT systems should remain at Release Version 4.72.2 until the client beta update is available.

The FSISERVER's Add-ons menu now includes an OpusFSI Live Weather 'Import Flight Plan ...' option. This option can be used to select and import a PLN flight plan file. Once imported the file is automatically processed and the OpusFSI weather updated.

The FSISERVER's 'Flight Plan Options' dialog now displays the current Import/Export PLN file path. A 'Browse' button allows this path to be altered by the user without importing or exporting a PLN flight plan.

The LWA Map Station Monitor dialog 'Airways' option is not available on FSICLIENT systems. Access to this extensive Navdata is not possible at the moment on client systems so this option will always be greyed out. OpusFSI Release Version 5.00.8 is now available for download on our website.

Download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

This version is identical to the OpusFSI Beta Version 5.00.8 (see our SimForum Announcements for details http://www.simforums.com/forums/announcements_topic42608_post364957.html#364957) so there's no need to upgrade your prototype betas. Licensed Version 4 users may still use the Version 5 software free of charge whilst the beta development is ongoing and new Version 5 features are added. This is expected to continue into April/May time when a discounted OpusFSI Version 5 Upgrade licence option will be available for a limited period.

OpusFSI Release Version 5.00.12 is now available for download on our website

The 'msi' install program now supplies both LockheedMartin Prepar3D SimConnect_v3.3 and SimConnect_v3.4 dll variants. The user should copy and rename the v3.3 variant if that is needed, otherwise the FSI startup program will copy and rename the v3.4 dll automatically when no LM dll exists.

The FSISERVER and FSICLIENT startup programs will now copy and rename the supplied LockheedMartin Prepar3D SimConnect_v3.4.dll into the required LockheedMartin Prepar3D SimConnect.dll whenever appropriate and the LM SimConnect dll does not exist.

N.B. All P3D v3.2 and earlier users should use the P3D2 atartup argument to operate in dotNet2 mode and use the standard Microsoft SimConnect libraries.

Corrected a problem that could cause the FSX/P3D server programs to abort after approximately 20 minutes when the Live Weather option was disabled.

The OpusBL5.dat licence check data file can now be downloaded manually using the link at the bottom of our OpusFSI Downloads page. This data file is allowed to be up to 14 days old to be accepted as part of the licence validation checks.

If the OpusBL5.dat file download fails or is corrupted the software will attempt to download the data in text form from our website using a web request then create a new OpusBL5.dat file from it's content.

Camera View and Panning Sequence names are now truncated within the Management list box.

Corrected a problem that prevented the dotNet 2 client program's (FSXCLIENT.EXE) simulator mode from being set to anything other than 'No Connection' (NONE) mode.

Modified the OpusFSI.DLL to ensure full FSISERVER.log file is output and added details of FSISERVER.EXE program to the version information.

Included the Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect DLL library and MSI installation files along with the LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect DLLs for both the current P3D version 3.4 and the previous P3D version 3.3 simulators.

The OpusFSI Live Weather Engine provides the most detailed, accurate, and realistic weather available within the simulator. However, we have added an OpusAS Interface for those wishing to use ActiveSky weather. This interface can be used to factor in the ActiveSky 'AmbientTurbulence' and 'InCloud' Bootstrap DLL variables within the OpusFSI DHM (Dynamic Head Movements) at times when the OpusFSI Live Weather Engine is disabled and the ActiveSky Bootstrap DLL (as_btstrp.dll) is active. See the 'OpusAS_Setup.txt' file for details of how to enable and remove the OpusAS Interface.

Corrected a problem with the OpusFSI_v5 licence checking.

Stephen :-)

OpusFSI Beta Version 5.00.13 is now available for download on our website.

Download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

The Weather Download dialog now contains an 'Automated Wx Report' setting consisting of three radio buttons. Select 'None' to disable the automated Wx (GRIB Download) report completely, select 'OpusFSI Report' for the usual OpusFSI Wx report window, or select 'Simulator Report' for the 'in sim' Wx report window.

The program arguments for the 'start up' FSISERVER.EXE and FSICLIENT.EXE programs have changed to be more specific in selecting the correct dotNet 2 or P3D dotNet 4 operating modes.

The following arguments will select the 'dotNet 2' SlimDX and Microsoft SimConnect modes ...

FSISERVER.EXE FSX
FSISERVER.EXE STEAM
FSISERVER.EXE P3D2
FSISERVER.EXE P3D30
FSISERVER.EXE P3D31
FSISERVER.EXE P3D32

The following arguments will select the Prepar3D 'dotNet 4' SlimDX and LockheedMartin SimConnect modes ...

FSISERVER P3D
FSISERVER P3D3
FSISERVER P3D33
FSISERVER P3D34

Any other argument will assume the last saved operating mode for the FSISERVER and FSICLIENT programs. All Prepar3D 'dotNet 4' modes will copy the relevant LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect_v3.x.dll into the OpusFSI LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect.dll prior to launching the P3D server or client programs.

ButtKicker control should now force a reset of the landing mode on completion of landing and rollout.

Regards
Stephen :-)
