The new NOAA METAR Cycle data server is now used to download Historic Weather, to save World Weather Themes, and to populate the Weather Overview and Weather Locator Maps.

The FSICLIENT Configure dialog now includes configurable Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude Offset fields. These offsets are added to all the Live View Positional data that is received from the FSISERVER and are intended to offset the selected aircraft model on the client system when it is different from the aircraft model on the server system. All fields are double precision floating point values, all Altitudes are specified in metres.

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.67.2 is now available for download on our website.

The FSISERVER Configure dialog now includes an option to manage and edit server side Live View Offsets. These Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude offsets supplement the client side Configure options and can be associated with a specific aircraft type or group of aircraft types. Use the Offsets button in the Configure dialog to open the Live View Offsets Management dialog. This dialog allows you to Create, Clone, Edit, Delete, or order your server side Live View Latitude/Longitude/Altitude Offsets. You can also Edit by double-clicking on any entry
in the displayed list.

The Live View Offset Editing dialog allows you to specify the required Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude offset values, entered as double precision floating point numbers with altitude offsets in metres. It also allows you to Assign Aircraft Types to the specified Limits (similar to assigning aircraft types to camera views).

The recommended procedure for setting offsets would be to first use the client side offset options to set your Live View system up for a specific aircraft combination. The client side offsets can be altered more easily in real time. When happy with the offsets, create a server side set of offsets and assign them to the loaded aircraft type or types. Finally, reset the client side offsets back to zero.

Live View position updates are now transmitted at least once a second even when the aircraft is stationary.

The FSISERVER and FSICLIENT Live View Offsets have been changed from a (Latitude, Longitude, Altitude) basis to a (Lateral, Longitudinal, Vertical) aircraft axis basis. All axis offsets specified in metres. The new offsets adjust the reference point for the aircraft axis on the client system(s). The aircraft's current heading and global position is factored in to determine the current axis offset in latitude and longitude.

FSICLIENT program modified to use English (GB) culture when updating CameraDefinitions. Please note, at present the same sim type should be used on all server and client systems using Live Camera views. This limitation will soon be removed within the Live Camera software.

FSICLIENT creates a log file named SimObjects_FSX.log, SimObjects_FSXSE.log, or SimObjects_P3D.log, depending on the sim type. This log file lists all SimObject Airplane and Rotorcraft paths that are checked along with any errors encountered during the process. The log file helps determine the reason why any aircraft/rotorcraft are not detected by the FSICLIENT program.

Client cameras are now common to all sim types. All client cameras are now saved in a file named, <computer name>.CAM irrespective of the current selected sim type. Previous _SE and _P3D client CAM files are renamed automatically on first use by both the FSISERVER and FSICLIENT programs.

The Live Weather Engine enables GRIB data by default in Automatic Settings mode irrespective of what Max Cruise Altitude has been specified by the user.

The FSISERVER program no longer downloads the OpusFSI.DLL as part of its licence checks. The FSISERVER.log file will now always be generated irrespective of what errors are detected. Healthy systems will generate an FSISERVER.log along the lines of,

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.68.0 is now available for download on our website.

Remember when installing the OpusFSI_v468_Beta.msi file you must uninstall your current version before installing the new version (do not delete your previous \OpusFSI installation folder). After installing please check all the settings in your Configure and Weather dialogues. You can download from http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/downloads.htm

The FSISERVER program now includes an option to display weather reports using OpusFSI Weather Report windows. This is as an alternative to relying on or using the simulator's own text menu window. The FSISERVER allows up to nine Weather Report windows to be opened and sized/positioned anywhere on a single or multi-screen system. The user can also change the font, font style and font size to suit their own screen resolution.

The OpusFSI Weather Reports can be displayed either using the 'Wx Report' button on the FSISERVER form or using the 'Opus Weather Reports' option via the simulator's Add-ons Menu. The 'Sim Weather Reports' option within the Add-ons Menu can be used to display text reports using the simulator's text window.

If any OpusFSI Weather Report is on display the Live Weather Engine will no longer force or update the sim Lower or Upper Atmosphere reports. Instead all GRIB download and progress messages are displayed in red on the second line of all displayed OpusFSI Weather Reports. Provision has been made to display other useful information and messages on the second line of the OpusFSI Wx Reports.

On program start up the first four OpusFSI Weather Reports are primed to display the Local Weather, Lower Atmosphere, Upper Atmosphere, and Destination Weather respectively. The remaining reports are primed to open with the Weather Report Main Menu on display.

OpusFSI Beta Version 4.69.0 is now available for download on our website.

The LWA Map and Wx Maps are now enabled even when the Live Weather Engine is disabled and no weather related data is available (a weather update is still required to update the map marker and overlay data). The button layout on the FSISERVER form changed to reflect the new usage. All LWA and Wx Maps all default to a monochrome map display if no user preferences have been set.

Options to 'Show Waypoints' and 'Show Navaids' have been added to the LWA Map and Wx Maps. These markers are displayed using small brown and yellow symbols. To prevent clutter on the maps a minimum zoom level of 9 is required before their markers are displayed. The following marker colour codes are now employed on the maps,

Met Stations: Blue
Aerodromes: White
Departure: Green
Destination: Red
Alternates: Red
Route: Magenta
Navaids: Yellow
Waypoints: Brown
SID Points: Green
STAR Point: Red

N.B. After this upgrade all users should force a weather update prior to displaying the LWA Map or Wx Maps.
