September 3, 200223 yr Commercial Member Good Morning, Captains! One of the things that has always amazed me about the sim-community is it's ability to generate spectacular rumors in the absence of an active news channel!Okay- let's get the first things taken care of first! As pointed out by John Irwin (I'm poking fun of you good naturedly, here, John! ;-) ) there has been no information forthcoming on our MSFS product line, or our plans with the FLY!II product line.Contrary to the speculation, there are actually three very straight forward reasons for this...1) I've been heavily tasked in my job at the airline during the past 3 months.2) I've been heavily tasked in my job at the airline during the past 3 months.3) I've been heavily tasked in my job at the airline during the past 3 months.I won't bore you with drivel from work- but suffice it to say that I've been reading the forum during the past few months, but simply haven't had the kind of time to interact that I would otherwise liked! This, combined with the fact that it has simply become impractical to travel with my laptop computer means that I have not been in contact with the forum when I'm out flying the line.... (It seems that carrying a computer while also being in a uniform makes you a likely candidate to commit crimes against an airplane....)Things at the airline are finally starting to calm down and unless I get a surprise transition class to the CL-65 I should be back to normal for the next 4-5 months, at least! (yiiippppeeeee!!!!)In the mean time, I have been putting off a web-site update that probably should have been made in July... ;-) I accomplished most of the new pages this weekend and after reading the posts from earlier today, I uploaded them finally tonight!I have some news for you all that I will post in another message- but here are some news updates that will give you an idea what the PMDG team has been up to:Mr. and Mrs. Chris Wallace had their first child born last month, so Chris has been understandably busy with his new family! (Congratulations again, Chris!)Marc Harrington just moved to the United States permanently (he's been a citizen, but was living in Germany, for those who didn't know...) where he will be attending college and has FINALLY begun his own flight training! In fact, Marc has been filling my in-box with excited news about his first few flights! This is great news for all of us who have known marc for a few years- and I'm elated that more of the PMDG team is now located in the Eastern Time Zone!Vin Scimone got engaged immediately after the 757 released- and he has been working on a project that I'm not sure I'm allowed to discuss- so I won't! (It's computer related, of course, but has been taking LOTS of his free time!)Lefteris, Vangelis, Anthony and I have been working hard to juggle the requirements of our real jobs while also keeping the future planning process at PMDG under way!So.... That is what we have been up to.....Look for more information on our upcoming product lines shortly! ;-)(heard that line before???)Robert S. September 3, 200223 yr I don't care if you ignore me or not. Just thought it was time that someone got back to your customers on where PMDG was headed. One thing I learned in my business is that the best way to keep rumors under control is to provide a source of accurate, timely info.Jeez, if I didn't hear from you soon, I was going to fire out another post that you were seen working in Area 51, getting the inside scoop on some UFO's for your next release!Seriously, I am glad that you and your company are alive and well. There are too few companies out there that believe in developing "hardcore" commercial aircraft for MSFS. Don't think the Yak-52 is my cup of tea but I'll be glad to pay upfront for the Jetstream.Best of luck,John Irwin
