strange announcement at german site

Featured Replies

Just read a strange announcement at www.flugsimulation.com mentioning PMDG has announced a significant delay for 737 NG (scroll down a bit on the right side of their "news").quote : "Leider hat die Precision Manuals Development Group eine gr

Michael-Thanks for the heads-up. We are investigating. Needless to say, this fellow is not a representative of PMDG, and that we are aware of he knows nobody at PMDG.In other words, www.flugsimulation.com is posting inaccurate, false and misleading information. Their news item should be ignored. As all of you know- we do not post release dates at PMDG. The 737 has never had a release date assigned- nor have we issued any announcements regarding delays or otherwise. Sounds to me like uninformed guessing- or just old-fashioned sour grapes. ;-)The NG has not been delayed. In fact- quite to the contrary....it is nearly finished!

Robert, well, I already guessed something like that. In fact, in several German fora many are enthusiastic or at least curious about the upcoming product, so such misleading infos are nothing but stupid.Michael

Gents-Following up with this topic, I emailed the webmaster at flugsimulation.com and expressed our concern regarding the misleading information being published on their site. These guys are reputable and I have read their site on a number of occasions (helps keep my German from falling apart completely!) I'm certain the news article was a misinterpretation of sorts- let's hope.I, for one, am a strong believer in the positive side of human nature- even though it is occasionally necessary to interact with individuals (bella/martjin) who subsist on a diet of grist which is thrown readily into the gears of those who aren't afraid to make progress...Folks- thanks again for watching out for us. It is often hard to monitor all 200+ simulation related sites to ensure that all users are receiving the most accurate information!

Hey, I don't often stray from Avsim.co, Flightsim.com, or Simviation.com for reliable, reputable information. Mind you, to get the best and most up-to-date information, I go to the source, in this case PMDG. I read your forum and browse your website daily for any updates. I disregard anything that hasn't been posted in this forum, or your site!

The problem with such sites like the one mentioned here in Germany, is they usually are not comprehensive to judge about flight relevant details (flight models, system fidelity, etc.) in Addons. So in their reviews they mostly end up with checking out the optics of an Addon and base their rating on that. The only really reliable and comprehensive source is the magazine Flightxpress, they often have real world pilots (or I think at least experts that know what they are talking about) checking out the Addons. While that sometimes ends up in embarassing results for some Addons, the reviews are independent and everyone knows what he really gets. They also have a big Forum at www.flightxpress.de with around 12000 members, very good source for infos.Michael

Michael-Yes- we have a long standing relationship with Marc S. from flightexpress. We were hoping to get flightxpress a copy of the NG in time to be reviewed in their upcoming summer issue- but we weren't able to have one in time for their deadline...We'll have copies to them in time for their post summer vacation issues... ;-)
