July 2, 200322 yr PMDG,Since I reregistered after losing my account info, I thought I'd take the opportunity to say that I'm very impressed with this software, and possibly even more so with your patience with some of the rather less patient folk.As I said in an e-mail to Randy (Randy did you get that?) this is a group effort, and by parting with less money than would buy 6 packs of cigarettes, we are joining you on an exciting adventure which, while requiring patience and all-round understanding from everyone especially in these early stages, is entirely worthwhile, and which is certainly value for money. We are not buying a loaf of bread. If you buy a pet parrot, and at first it doesn't speak fluent latin, you don't run over to the pet shop after all demanding your money back. You teach it - a learning experience for all. This product happens to be a very intelligent bird, about which much is to be learnt, and which - with the assistance of the dedicated programmers - can be "taught" an awful lot more. I prefer that to a dumb bird which is cheaper and just looks pretty. That's my analogy anyway. On to this observation. It rings a little bell from the early days of 767PIC (yes it had a few minor issues too!) with the pitot heat. Mid flight, EGGW-LPFR, my speed tape dropped to 30kts (i.e. zilch). I have included a screenshot, with the settings of my overhead panel's probe heat switch positions. The problem has (I think) been resolved, either by my pressing SHIFT+H, or it resolved itself.Worth a look, perhaps.Greetings to all,Alexhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/20582.jpg
July 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Alex,I believe this is related to a weather addon, it came up once during late Beta with Randy so he's the expert. I believe it's being looked at. July 3, 200322 yr Paul,Thanks for the reply - good to know.I have a few other observations and will post in the main issues thread. May I suggest sorting download, registration and panel "problems" into different forums? I don't know how hard they are to create. Also, it certainly might be worth moving posts which are, say, diagnosed as features rather than problems to be put somewhere else? I know it sounds a hassle, but I think for you guys and users alike it would save time in the long run.Best wishes,Alex
