SIDs - STARs NOT read in? Read this...

As such, you do yourself NO>HARM installing it - and in our case, it's necessary for UNC>name resolution (such as "MYPCCProgram Files", etc.)>>Hope this clarifies things.Lefteris,As much as I usually support PMDG, I've got to agree with Martin on this. While you correctly pointed out that you don't need to leave port 139 open, how many users are actually aware of the fact that this flaw exists? Additionally, the more protocols you have binding to your adapters, the more you can slow down your connectivity. Most software packages recommend that you have TCP/IP and TCP/IP only, as it will perform better than having TCP/IP plus additional protocols installed. There's a reason why even Microsoft finally (!) stopped installing NetBios as a default protocol. It's old, outdated, and slow. Hopefully you'll figure out a different way to get at UNC paths; until then I'm waiting to purchase what otherwise looks to be a great plane.Jon (KSEA...although closer to KTIW this morning).

Hi Lennart,As far as I am aware, SIDS & STARS aren't incorporated into the Airac cycle data. Maybe I am wrong, but from what has been said, that data will be released shortly unless you make your own...Let me know if I am wrongBryan

Hi! could someone send me SIDSTAR db before the are removed from pmdg site? please pm me. Regards.

Why is this suddenly so difficult? The PIC Airac cycle exe file is to be placed in FS2002/FS9/FMCWP/NavData. If you don`t have this folder, make it, place the PIC exe file in NavData and doubleclick it. Done with NavData. And no SIDSTARS here. Guess you have noticed the PMDG/SIDSTARS folder? This was the place the (now missing) all-in-one SIDSTARS file were supposed to go. Many of you out there have it, me too, I can mail it to those who want it. You can download new PMDG SIDSTARS from 2 locations:http://www.navdata.at/ and http://pmdg.operations.dk/Hope this helps...

So let me get this right? I just purchased the 737 and was puzzeled last night as to why I couldn't load any sid/stars. I also had to bring my FMWCP folder from 2002 to 2004 since the navdata.at site is down. Are you saying I need to do something different with the sid/star data under the FMWCP folder? Can I just move that info to the PMDG sid/star folder? Thanks!

Like I wrote in my previous post, all the SIDSTARS txt files are to be placed in PMDGSIDSTARS, and has nothing to do with the FMCWP folder.Oh, btw, it is recommended that you sign your posts with your name, if not the Sheriff will get to you :-hah :-halo Good luck,

Paul,I followed your procedures to the letters until the part to map the drive. Window doesn't let me to map the drive. I don't have a network drive installed to my computer, is this the reason? If it is, is there another walk-around to read in SIDs-STARs? Thank for your help.Regards
