July 9, 200322 yr Hi guysHave been fiddeling with the SID/STAR text files for a while and was trying to come up with a way of doing fly-over waypoints. But I can't seem to succeed. Is there anyone who knows how to do a fly-over waypoint? Also why doesn't this SID work? It's a SID from ESSA. SA705 and SA707 are fly-over wpts:SID RESN1G RNW 19R NAVAID SA705 KEEP HDG INTERCEPT RADIAL 060 FROM NAVAID SA706 NAVAID SA706 NAVAID SA707 KEEP HDG INTERCEPT RADIAL 193 TO NAVAID SA855 NAVAID SA855 NAVAID RESNA 19000Attached are three pics of how it looks on the CDU and on the ND: Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
July 9, 200322 yr Looking at the recently released SID/STAR syntax documentation, it doesn't appear there is any way to designate waypoints as "fly over".I believe waypoints created with UNTIL, UNTIL RADIAL, and NOTBEFORE are kind of like "fly over" because a turn will not commence until some condition is met.I had expected the ability to specify a waypoint as "fly over" as part of the SID/STAR syntax. PMDG, is that not possible? Does the real aircraft not have that capability? What about specifying the turn direction when it might be greater than 180 degrees? I don't know it works in the real aircraft.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
July 9, 200322 yr try this:SID RESN2G RNW 19 KEEP HDG UNTIL 02 FROM NAVAID ARL HDG 240 UNTIL RADIAL 208 TO NAVAID HMR HDG 008 UNTIL RADIAL 001 FROM NAVAID ARL NAVAID RESNAhaven't tried this only an idea, hope it helpsread you... Migh
July 9, 200322 yr Author Hi LeeI think all SID/STAR are preprogrammed. And fly-over points I'm pretty sure the flying crew can't program. But as we have been given this nice little programming language it would be really neat to be able to load our FMCs with the correct waypoints don't you think? What do you say PMDG guys?Regards Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
July 9, 200322 yr Author MighIt sure looks different from the original one! :-) I will try it though and will report what I come up with. Thanks!! Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
July 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member I'll be happy if we get syntax support for transitions and runway to common leg portions of the procedures in the patch...A "KEEP TRACK" command would be nice too.Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 10, 200322 yr I'm guessing KEEP TRACK could be simulated by flying a radial off a (possibly custom) waypoint, but KEEP TRACK would be a lot cleaner. And what about altitude constraints like 3000A 4000B? 767PIC can do those.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
July 10, 200322 yr Where did you guys get the SID/STARS? Did you get them before they were pulled from the website?ThanksSimon
July 10, 200322 yr since the manual is out, it is possible to make our own SID STARS. You can download them from http://www.navdata.at . You have only to register for free, and you can download AIRACS SID STARS for different products such PMDG737 PIC767 DF737 and so on.read you... Migh

July 10, 200322 yr Commercial Member Anthony already said hte soft altitude constraints aren't modelled yet - hopefully they'll be in the patch, otherwise I think we're stuck waiting for the 800/900. They're easy enough to do manually though...Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 10, 200322 yr Mats !Take a look at my latest posting and see if you can use some of it!http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=7633&page=2The best way to to do it so far is to do it like Lee described, use the "NOT BEFORE", or simply insert a colocated FIX after the waypoint you want to pas.If they're going to provide further syntaxes with the patch there are several sugestions that should be adressed !An ARC-DME Approach is a common used prosedure for numerous airports.Ex:KEEP TRACKTURN RIGHT HDG/INTERCEPTTURN LEFT HDG/INTERCEPTARCDME XX INTERCEPT/KEEP/EXIT ARCDME XX AT RADIALBy the way, where's that documantation Lee ??Steinar
July 10, 200322 yr Does something like ... NAVAID XYZ KEEP HDG UNTIL 0 FROM XYZ ... to force it to overfly XYZ?The SID/STAR edit document is including with all the documentation PMDG released yesterday or the day before.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
