July 25, 200322 yr Lee, thank you very much to help me. To be right now..... verify my calculation please.... S20
July 25, 200322 yr Gosh, it doesn't work. I don't know what to do. I will try to solve it out but my time is running out. I am going to holiday tomorow.Regards, Nejc
July 25, 200322 yr Nope. S20:48.97 (degrees plus decimal minutes) is not the same as S20:48:97 (degress, minutes, seconds). You want -(20 + 48.97/60).Lee Hetherington (KBED)
July 25, 200322 yr Lee, i dont understanding..........another example with two calculations.......SBMG S23
July 25, 200322 yr The first is right. The second is wrong because you are not given seconds so you won't have anything divided by 3600. (A second is 1/3600th of a degree.) In my experience, aviation charts don't generally give seconds, just degrees and minutes.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
July 25, 200322 yr Yes, that's true. If you can't operate a 767 there, it's not in the database. This would seem reasonable from Wilco's point of view.Interesting, the runways at SBRJ are the shortest in the world for regular 737 operations. This might even make the "dangerous approach" list. One can see why this one wasn't in the PIC data. :)Best,Bill
July 26, 200322 yr Hi Bill, yep, maybe we have the shortest rwys in the world, for the B737 and A319, and there are some hills close to it. :D http://www.airliners.net/open.file/379202/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/207357/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/306285/L/Greetings from Rio de Janeiro,Jorge Niny
July 26, 200322 yr Ah, short runways, water at both ends, and Sugar Loaf Hill...what a combination. :) Gorgeous pics -thanks.Best,Bill
