Does this look right?

Recommended Posts

System is Athlon 1.4Asus A7M266 mobo256M pc2100 ramGeForce2 GTS/64MSB Live Soundw98SE1280x960x16 resolutionA 3rd party program caused FS2k2 to start crashing. I reinstalled. Up until that time i ran FS2k2 with almost all the sliders at max, 20fps locked. The only hardware setting unchecked - Transform & Lighting. Max distance 60M - it was almost perfect. Occasionally in really dense areas I'd get a small blurry that would clearup very quickly.I've attached a file showing what I see from 2000 feet. Even if I pause, it doesn't clear up. I've tried reloading/changing drivers. I was running 1241 and changed to 2942 - no difference. Reinstalled FS2k2 again - tried all the tweaks and settings in every tip I could find. No change. This system dual boots with XP - I tried it under XP - same issue. However I tried Links 2001 ans CFS1 and they look great.Ieven flashed my BIOS and updated the VIA 4-1 drivers. Other than trying a new card, I'm stumped - but I've been looking at screenshots until my eyes are crossed - am I asking for too much? IIRC, the ground in the screen shots should be MUCH sharper. FWIW, buildings, airports, mountains all look great - it's just the countryside that doesn't want to clear up.Can anyone help? I've never tried to upload a screenshot to thye forum before so I hope this works. if not, and you're interested - let me know and I'll try againThanx,Vic Baron

A third party program that you installed within FS2002 or outside of FS2002? If within, when you reinstalled did you first delete all the residual folders left by the fs2002 uninstaller? If not and you installed to the same folders, then chances are the program is still in one of the folders. FS2002 only uninstalls the files it installed leaving anything you added in subfolders under your fs2002 folder.

It was within but I did delete ALL folders and any reg entries. I wanted to be sure there were no residual traces.Vic
