September 5, 200322 yr Hello all,I'm back to flying around with FS9 and the PMDG with/out VC on my relatively poor PC is great in performance.I have only realized that unlike in FS2002, when I pass over the marker beacons on approach, they illuminate on the PFD, but there's no sound coming. I guess I have to activate them first on a default plane via radio stack.I wanted to know if there's a string in the fs9.CFG file that can be added or modified to have the marker sounds on by default.Another sound missing, that I'm sure is probably known, is the GPWS 2500ft call-out.Thanks for any eventual help.Regards,Bjorn
September 5, 200322 yr I've been wondering about the marker sounds too......Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]
September 5, 200322 yr Paul, what i did for my personal use was a FS2002 "export" of default audio gauge together with Rob Barendregt PB gauge (works fine except the sound part).Hope this helpLuigi ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/35198.jpg
September 5, 200322 yr Very nice Luigi! I like it!Which sound part doesn't work, BTW?Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]
September 5, 200322 yr If you don't want to go through the fun of adding an audio panel to your PMDG (I posted last month the necessary code to put in panel.cfg), you can also assign a keystroke (options, control, assignments) to the marker beacon, and just remember to turn it on or off with the keyboard, although it's hard to tell which state it's in without the panel.
September 5, 200322 yr Many thanks Tim. Sometimes the simplest solution is the one you don't even consider.Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]
September 6, 200322 yr Paul,i meant you'll loose the pushback clicks and conversation; but you can live without it!Luigi ;-)
