No idle/full thrust
Thanks but I only fly with one joystick I will have to investigate further something possibly going on with FSX and my joystick rather than the 737 then.

No idle/full thrust
I have been flying the 737 for years and did not notice this issue before, I always disconnected the A/T and AP around 1000 above and manually fly in, also ensuring my joystick is set to idle thrust and what used to happen the 737 used to go to idle and i used to control my speed using pitch and thereby have a nice flight to flare, now because it does not go to idle I am landing too far, too high and and finding it extremely difficult to put the plane down and all this is very unrealistic, so this is news to me what you have mentioned.

No idle/full thrust
i have this same issue whilst on approach and manually flying down i disconnect the ap and a/t and set my joystick to idle but the pmdg 737 still does not go to idle and it is very hard to land when the engines are still around 40%n1, any ideas?

Aerofly 2 ultrawide
yes like with all technology it is inevitable prices will go down, I was in a fortunate position that selling my cockpit hardware paid for my rift and some. VR at its current state does have some short comings, mainly not a crisp and clear than a 2d monitor, however i think within 5 years the prices will come down and the resolution of these things will go up, that is just the way technology is, no doubt we will need to have even faster computers to handle it all. Just last night I did a short flight from Boston to KJFK in the PMDG 737 in full VR, did a manual approach and it was a breeze would not have dreamt of such a nice manual approach looking at a 2d monitor, landed and taxied to the gate and I just shook my head in disbelief how good VR is and where we have come from, (remembering the flightsim 98 days when I first started with flight simulator way back then).

have you tried leapmotion ? i control the pmdg 737 mcp, lights, autopilot, fd, etc with my hands, although I still use mouse for programming the fmc, and a few other things.

I am sorry you cannot afford it, as you probably know if you have the rift and VR you are now sitting in the cockpit, I would say VR will make spending thousands of dollars on setting up a home built cockpit will be redundant, infact I had a basic cockpit set up with mcp, efis, rudder pedals, throttle from throttelek and a short throw 1080p projector, most of it is all sold, that is how good i think Vr is.

Aerofly 2 ultrawide
well I have the rift and will never fly on my 2d monitor again, so 1990's lol

go VR you will throw your monitors away.

New Aerofly FS 2 update 2.0.1EA3.30 is live
I am all for this simulator, even though it is missing key features, we desperately need a new flight simulator not something which is 10 years old, we need something that can utilise the latest technologies on offer now, this flight sim sure looks promising and i hope it will eventually take over fsx.

New Aerofly FS 2 update 2.0.1EA3.30 is live
o ok i had a look, very impressive but what I noticed no taxiway signs at the major airports

New Aerofly FS 2 update 2.0.1EA3.30 is live
are the airports all generic like fsx or look like the actual airport, like klax replicates klax, ksfo looks like ksfo etc

default 737 flight model
hi all Does anyone know where I can get an improved flight model for the default 737 800 for fsx sp2, I found on another site, an improved VC plus fmc for the default 737 but looking for a better flight model, thanks

HTC Vive vs Rift VR for P3D?
thanks for this but I reverted back to 1.52 because leapmotion i could not set the mcp properly and the pop up + - sign came in front of the mcp so i did not know what numbers i was dialling into, Dan said he is working on a fix, i did try the 4k resolution yesterday on 1.52 and did notice sharper texts etc, however after a while flyinside came up an error message something to do with textures, so i reverted back to a lower resolution, will wait till Dan sorts out the pmdg 737 fsx issues and retry 1.6 later.

HTC Vive vs Rift VR for P3D?
how do you do that, i had to revert back to 1.52 because using leapmotion i could not press the buttons using my fingers to set the mcp correctly.

HTC Vive vs Rift VR for P3D?
as a relatively new user to the rift and using fly inside and pmdg 737 all I can say this the best and closest you are going to get in sitting in a real life cockpit, it was just an amazing experience when i loaded up the 737 in the rift, I will never go back to flying in a 2d monitor and even though the resolution is lacking the immersion factor is unbelievable, landings are so much easier now, and the experience of turning for finals and seeing that runway in the distance is just breathtaking, this is the future of everything, virtual reality will change the way we use our computers and engage with games etc, cannot wait for cv2 3 etc, this is the future of gaming.

nothing happens
ok thanks for letting me know

oh my GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! this is amazing, my first experience is sitting in the PMDG 737 captains seat and it is exactly as the real thing! squashy and everything like in your face, my eyes have started to tear! I am telling you I cannot believe how real this thing looks like, thanks Dan!!!! OK you can see that the clarity is not 100% sharp but you can easily see the mcp etc, but the awesomeness of this thing you do not worry about the fuzziness !!!!! It is like a dream come true I would never have imagined from starting my flight sim career way back when i picked up fs98 and got hooked i would image we would get to this stage, simply mind blowing !!!!

Voice Attack
yes, definitely will, just received the computer and installing fsx se right this minute so in a few hours will have my first impressions !

Voice Attack
yeah thanks for the info, i have tried out the demo on the default 737 and it works really well, just say altitude 10,000 and the co pilot with adjust the mcp for 10,000 and many others, will def look into this when I get my oculus rift and computer up and running on the weekend, as in the virtual world you cannot see your keyboard or joystick.

Voice Attack
ok what about if i just want to take off and fly some where and not bother about programming a flight plan into the fmc, just say i take off somewhere will it also take care of the altitude / speed etc for me if i give it instructions?
-
Voice Attack
Andrew does MCE work well with PMDG 737 also can you call out altitude and will it climb to that altitude? I.e climb to 15,000 feet and the 737 will climb to 15,000 and you can see the change of the altitude happening on the MCP ?

Voice Attack
Has anyone see this software, good alternative to pressing mouse buttons to control your 737, however there is one fsx profile but nothing for pmdg 737, it would be good to get a profile for the pmdg737 and use your voice to control the aircraft. http://www.voiceattack.com/howto.aspx https://forums.vrsimulations.com/forums/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=8304 Clayton

will VR replace home cockpits?
oh yes i understand, good if you have an external MCP and or FMC like i do.
