Starting left engine (again...)

Featured Replies

Good morning everybody,I'm still not able to fire up the left engine (#1).I have allready tried all tricks of this forum...My installation is:PMDG_737_THE_NEXT_GENERATIONPMDG_737_The_Next_Generation_SU1PMDG_737_The_Next_Generation_SU1-1_MINIrunning FS9 on WinXP ProAny help appreciated

Do you have your APU on? Do you have the APU supplying air to the packs/ducts? Do you have your ISO valve on auto, and the left and right packs on auto as well?Your install is right(meaning you do have the left engine start problem fixed patch wise) so I bet your problems lies in a single switch misplaced :)

Hi FredThank You for coming. The first thing I did after installing this aircraft was to dwnld Your tutorial flight.I followed aaaaaall your instructions point by point, then I tried many many tricks found in this forum, the right engine did not start...You wrote "(meaning you do have the left engine start problem fixed patch wise)" and this was THE hint.I have now uninstalled PMDG, reinstalled from scratch and put the FULL service pack 1-1 upon the original installation. And You know what ?It works!I think there was something wrong with the update 1-0 followed by the mini-update 1-1.Thanx again

"Do you have your APU on? Do you have the APU supplying air to the packs/ducts? Do you have your ISO valve on auto, and the left and right packs on auto as well?"In this situation, Fred, what are your engine bleed switches set to? ON? If so, you couldn't start the Right engine in this configuration on a real 737NG.Also, our airline specifies that Packs must be OFF. Do you mind me asking which airline your procedures are based on?Thanks.Cheers.Ian.

I had pretty much the same with the mini 1.1, it did not appear to like working with FS9. Using the full 1.1 cleared it up.Ray

"Also, our airline specifies that Packs must be OFF."Here's a shot of the relevant page in our AOM...http://members.ozemail.com.au/~b744er/737/PacksOff.jpgCheers.Ian.P.S. I suspect that the PMDG guys will be fixing up the Isolation Valve Auto logic in SU2, so it will be more critical what procedures you follow ;-)

Ian,I follow the Fred Airways procedures. ;-) I will make a note of that and correct my tutorial...Thanks Ian :)

Same here on Windows 2000. With SR 1.0 + mini 1.1 I had no luck starting the left engine. Again the 1.1. SR did solve the problem. Thomas
