September 11, 200322 yr I have downloaded and installed the sids and stars file from the PMDG website. I noticed that there is no sids and stars included for CYYZ. Does anyone have them? If so can I impose to have them emailed to me. ThanksBruce HUNTER
September 11, 200322 yr Hi Bruce,CYYZ is a case for itself. I have not been able to get any sids for that airport sofar. When I look at the Jeppesen charts it seems that all departures are vectored. Could a Canadian pilot shed some lights on the departure procedures for CYYZ. If there are sids I will program them.I attach a file which you can use for CYYZ it includes stars. Please note that this file was crated by converting a PIC Star file with Terry's converter.Michaelhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36209.txt
September 11, 200322 yr Flip me your email address, I have them as jpegs but they are too big to post in a message here ... They are a nightmare to put it politely ;)CYYZ is a rather busy airport, nothing goes anywhere without positive vector control. Many a time I sat at Ottawa airport waiting for takeoff clearance for 2-3 hours to have a landing slot in Toronto.Too bad Felix isn't around, he used to be a Fly! PMDG guy, worked the tower there.Ray
September 12, 200322 yr From your mail server ;)Recipient: Reason: 5.7.1 Go away!: [email protected]!Ray
September 13, 200322 yr Ray,Can you try again please. Yesterday there were some prblems with my ISP's server. The mail server is working today, I have received all kind of messages including from PMDG. If you still have difficulties you can send it to [email protected]
September 13, 200322 yr Hi Ray,Got the plates. As I suspected from my own charts these are vectored sids. I have to study them and see whether it is reasonable to consider them as normal sids. If it is I will create them.Michael
September 15, 200322 yr Hi,I am getting more and more confused about CYYZ!. I checked several Sids and Stars databases and cannot find any sign of programmed sids for CYYZ. I suspect that the departures are all vectored. Is there a Canadian pilot out there who could give me some hints i.e. are pre-programmed sids available on any dataset discs for CYYZ for any aircraft?Michael
September 15, 200322 yr Living just south of WASIE (major route into CYYZ), I can tell you that everything is vectored as I watch them shuffle planes around to get that wonderful "string of pearls" that ATC wants. It is a very busy airport that handles far more flights then it was designed for so I very much doubt anyone is flying around in their airspace without being directly controlled.Looking at everything I can find:You will be vectors from YOUTH, SIMCOE, MANS or ROKTO. Nothing indicates anything other then vectors. All takeoffs pretty much seem to follow the rule of fly runway heading, turn slightly, then get vectored to where you need to join up with one of the standard routes.Ray
September 15, 200322 yr Hi Ray,This is exactly the kind of confirmation I was expecting. So the conclusion is that there are no Sids for CYYZ.Michael
September 16, 200322 yr Pretty much, there are SIDs, but not in one would consider useful to us without a controller...Fly assigned hdg for vectors to assigned route. Climb to and maintain 5000' No unauthorized turns below 3600' (noise abatement). :-lolRay
September 16, 200322 yr I live right between the Meadovale and Britannia NDB's on the 05 and 06L approch..Guys there are STARS for CYYZ you can download them here http://www.czyz.org/toronto%20header%20pil...der-pilots.htmlbut SIDS in CYYZ are vectors so don't look into too much on them, but the link above will give you all the info you need.
September 16, 200322 yr Hi Michael and Ray, The CANADA AIR PILOT Instrument Procedures, Transport Canada AIP, 12July 2001, shows straight out departures for SIDS AVRO5 and BOWLES2 but a slight variation for DOUGLAS1, LESTER4, PEARSON8 and TORONTO4. These are all vector departures. I'll try to type out the Departure Route Description for the last 4 departures in the AM as it is getting late.Cheers
September 16, 200322 yr Correct there are Stars and the Stars for CYYZ have already been prgrammed for PMDG and released. The original request in this thread was about the Sids which from the beginning I recognized as vectored sids therefore not really necessary to program. Michael
September 16, 200322 yr Hello Group, I have typed up a short text file on the description of the various CYYC SIDS and will send it to anyone who sends me his/her email address. I don't want to post a file on this forum that is of no interest to the majority of users. Blais Klucznik [email protected]
