Hi All,Having just returned to UK from Phoenix yesterday (and truly amazed at how good the default KPHX scenery in FS9 is!)I tried to use the FMS to fly Tucson to Phoenix. Whatever I do I keep getting a message saying that the airport is not in the database. I've done all the right things with loading the navdata in the correct directory etc - I'm thinking that I may be missing a file or just missing a trick? I've used FS since its beginning but have only recently started to use it in depth and trying to use all the nav features. Any help would be very much appreciated.Kevin:-newbie

It might depend on which Airac cycle you are using...The latest Airac had so many errors I had to go back to 0308....You can easy check the different airac files by opening them in notepad and see if the airport is missing.Johnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/zone.jpg ][/div

Thanks Johnny - still no joy I'm afraidKevin

Kevin, I have the same problem. And with both the 308 and 309 cycles. So your not the only one. There are many other airports missing as well, even Washington National is missing from the 308 cycle.

Well I don't know the region and you don't say which file in Tuscon you were trying to fly to so can't help much, however.....KPHX AND KTUS (Tuscon Intl) airports are both in Richard's 0309 navdata file, have you tried searching there or have you got the old 0309 files? Richard released a version 2 with many fixes.HTH

Checked out latest Airac cycle and loaded as per instructions. Went to the FMC and on the Ident page it says Nav_Data not Valid. Again, when I put in KTUS or KPHX (or anything else for that matter) I get the "Not in Database" message. I've double checked the directory to put the nav data in and re-loaded.Kevin

Kevin, you have a problem there.I have just put the 737 at KPHX and entered that as ORIGIN and KTUS as DEST without a problem. Are you sure you have the navdata files in the correct place?Flight Simulator 9FMCWPnavdataIn that folder you should have the following filesairports.datfmc_ident.txtwpNavAID.txtwpNavAPT.txtwpNavFIX.txtwpNavRTE.txtRgdsDave

Dave,I have installed the updated nav data in Flight Simulator 9FMCWPnavdata and in that folder all I have are 2 text files called "A Must Read This" and " An Update 0308A News" and then hundreds of text files under ICAO idents for airfields. I don't see the dat and txt files you show in your reply, regards,Kevin

I don't know where you got those from Kevin but they are not correct. Some people have said that airac cycle 0308 has missing data, I have it installed but have backed up the 0308 data just in case.If you want the 0308 data I can't help but the 0309 data is available from a link on Richard's site http://www.navdata.at/The zip file you want is the 767PIC_PMDG_0309.zip. When you unzip this it contains an 'exe' file of the same name, just run that, tick all the boxes and point it your FMCWPnavdata folder. It will extract the files I listed and away you go.The only other place I know you can get the 0308 data is from Timothy's Advanced tutorial which is in the avsim library here.I can confirm that the 0308 data with a file date of 3rd August contains both KPHX and KTUS as does the 0309 data.HTH

Dave,Thanks for the time and help - I've done everything you said and even seen the KTUS and KPHX data in the download! However, something basic is missing - I may have to go for a full re-install of the PDMG aircraft. I'll also try Timothy's Advanced Tutorial - Hope to get to the bottom of this!!Kevin

Dave,All is OK!! Dreadful to admit but when I read CLOSELY the path of the installer it read FS2002!! No wonder. I'm very sorry to have wasted your time (and the other replies on this thread too.Everything now works OK - now the uphill learning curve starts with the FMC.Kevin

No problem Kevin, glad you got it sorted. You can of course always install to the default FS2002 location (if you are going to keep FS2002) and then copy those files to FS9.

Good idea - I'm still running FS2002 just in case! Thanks again,Kevin
