737 and Soundblaster Live problem.

Featured Replies

Hi all!I am having a sound card problem with my 737. When i use the sound card on my mother board i have no problems but when i enable my sound blaster live card and use that for the sound, the plane makes these horrible..."fuzzy static" noises. (Sorry, but really don't know of any other way of describing it). This noise happens for a while, then stops for a while and the engine sounds are normal and then starts up again...etc etc. Are there any known issues with SoundBlaster Live cards and the PMDG 737? I really want to use this card to take some pressure off my CPU. I am going to un-install the drivers, pull the card out and start all over again but i thought i would ask here before i did that. As far as i am aware, i am using the latest soundblaster drivers.CheersBeau JacksonGold Coast, Aust.

This is a known issue, there is a Soundblaster patch availible on their site (www.soundblaster.com) it should fix it....[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Geez! Thanks for that! Hopefully that should do the trick!CheersBeau JacksonGold Coast, Aust.

What a difference a sound card makes! I went online last night, got the latest drivers and patch from the sound blaster site, installed and re-connected my soundcard...WELL!!! Not only have the fuzzzy noises dissapeared, but the sim runs at about twice the speed it was, and in heavy clouds! Sweet.CheersBeau JacksonGold Coast, Aust.

AusSimmer,I had a look on the Creative website and could not find the fix or new driver. Would you care to post a link please? BTW I have SB Live Value. Thanks,Stephen B

2 things:Some motherboards have Bios Patches for Audigy 2. Check with your manufacturer (Dell is one of them)Check for the latest drivers on the Creative Labs Site. VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif

Under where it says start here, click on "soundblaster", in the next box, "soundblaster live", then "sound blaster live value". Under "where here to help you", click on "driver updates" in the pull down box, click on "windows XP" Then scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on "Sound Blaster Live! - LiveDrvUni-Pack (English)" On the next page, check the "I agree box" and then click on download. Now after you have downloaded and installed the update (very simple proceses), do all this again but click on "Sound Blaster Live - Driver Patch" and download and install that. Then you are all done.Hope this helps!CheersBeau JacksonGold Coast, Aust.

Cheers for that AusSimmer,I was looking on the European site which didnt have this updated driver thats all. Thanks again,Stephen B
