October 5, 200322 yr Commercial Member I wonder if these are NG specific or company options or simply just errors:- the AP disconnect sound. Shouldn't it be played in a continous loop? On all other Boeings this is the case. The 737 Classic's AP disconnect warning is also played continously.- the yellow FMC P/Reset light/switch on the main panel. Shouldn't it extinguish if you clear the FMC generated scratchpad message on the CDU?And two suggestions:Will we have an AP disconnect and A/T disconnect switch in future?I mean the AP disco switch on the yoke and the A/T disco switch on the throttle levers. Then the red warning lights wouldn't flash forever on the main panel (I know you can click 'em) but that's normally not SOP to press any of those switches!Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com

Interesting suggestion for the AP & AT Disc..[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith

My CBTS show otherwise??[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
October 6, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Randy,"Where did you get this information Mark?"From the full flight sim. Note however that it was a classic. The first time you press a n A/T or A/P disco switch, the red warning lights begin to flash. A second push will clear the respective light.Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
October 6, 200322 yr This is the same for the NG, according to the Boeing MM. All Boeing's have this function in some form (I've heard of variations, but all A/T and A/P disco switches can be used to cancel lights and aurals). 767 PIC and PS1 have this feature, so we expect no less of PMDG's NG ;-) I have two buttons going to waste on my joystick.Cheers.Ian.
October 6, 200322 yr You mean to have the phyiscal buttons? Or the ability to program separarte key binds for the yoke or throttle A/T disc? The latter is a possibility with Lefteris's new key menu if they chosse to do so.. [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
October 6, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Ian!Thanks for confirming."767 PIC and PS1 have this feature,"Whereby 767PIC's AP disconnect system isn't very realistic as the warning does not sound endlessly but only 3 times. Also, at least on the FFS, you can't cancel the warning light or aural by pressing the master warning switch. (Applies for both the 747 and the 757/767)Could be company option though.Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com

(The latter in my case, Randy).Looking forward to SU-2.... having lots of problems with the current SU ;-)Cheers.Ian.P.S. The aurals are not such a problem in PMDG as they don't sound continuously whenever you disconnect without the switches (Is this a real world option for the NG?).P.P.S I notice, in the Boeing MM, that the MCP A/T switch trips off when you use the A/T disconnect on the throttles (Different to the 767 and 747-400 where the MCP A/T switch is not electromagnetically latched).

The aurals are not such a problem in PMDG as they don't sound continuously whenever you disconnect without the switches (Is this a real world option for the NG?)."Hi Ian!What do you mean without switches? On the classic (and the 747, 757 & 767) whenever you disconnect the AP an aural is played continuously. It doesn't matter which button you used. The aural and warning light is cancelled by a second push on the yoke. Or by re-engaging the AP. On the classic you can press the red AP switch on the main panel.Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
